RE:VIVAL
The Tribunal of Humanity

The Tribunal of Humanity

This world is always filled with people who are incomplete. Some live their life without happiness involved, some live without parents, some live without friends.

There are all sorts of people around the world yet we don’t conceive the truth that somewhere you and I, they and we have many things common. One being that we all are born with the same perspective to complete our life and other being we all die when we fulfill our objective.

I for one was born without anyone I can call parents.

“Hey?” Scientia enquired, “You here?”

Looking at the tall buildings of New York is mesmerizing but I had an important meeting to attend though the blue sky was so lovely that I had to take time to praise it.

Standing in the middle of Times Square I was able to see every person who strived hard to live a complete life and every human we were struggling to protect.

“Mortis?”

She asked me again.

I looked at her. She had been one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen. She had blue eyes which matched the sky and wavy hair which looked like clouds. Brown hair, fair skin and with brown attire she was young and gorgeous.

“Yes.” I responded with a stutter, “Yes, I am.”

“Looks so good, ain’t it?”

She asked as she lifted her head and swirled around her waist.

“Yes.”

“What? I am talking about my dress.”

She responded with a pinch of anger in her voice.

It was evident as I had failed to realize that she was talking about the dress she was wearing and not the surroundings.

“That as well.”

“He’s always been like this.” Aetas said as he walked beside me, “Lost in some other dimension.”

Scientia nodded on Aetas’ statement. I had no rebuttal as it was the truth that I had always been like that.

“Hmm,” Aetas let out a sigh and looked at the crowded streets. If looked from above the people looked more like a moving colony of ants.

“Humans really have prospered a lot.”

“Well that’s just the nature of time.” I responded to Aetas.

“Come on,” Scientia asserted us by gesturing us to leave, “Father is waiting for us.”

I had no mind to leave the place but I had to as I had an important meeting to attend.

“You wanna go sight-seeing?” Scientia asked me.

In all these years no one had understood me as well as she did.

Well she wasn’t the ‘God of Knowledge’ for no reason.

Aetas was the ‘God Of Prosperity’ and myself….I am the ‘God of Death’.

I never found myself worthy of being praised as the ‘God of Death’ but Father Tempus always said that ‘You are supposed to be the best.’

I didn’t understand what he said that time nor I do right now.

“Yeah.” I nodded with my head still.

As much important the meeting was to me, I still could take some time out and wander around.

Seeing these places wasn’t new to me, but looking at Humans that admire the life we gave them…..that fills the void in me.

“Sight-seeing? That is not an option.”

Came a voice behind me. I turned around and noticed a figure walking towards.

It was Summa, ‘The God of Creation’.

“Tempus is waiting for us and also this is an important summit,” Summa continued with a bold tone and expression.

“Father Tempus, Summa.”

Footsteps receding towards us.

“You ought to call him with respect or should I be reminding you that always?”

Alias spoke up as she walked beside me.

“Sorry-“ Summa replied in an irritated manner.

Alias had always been the one who respected Father the most. It was due to some reason, but we never knew what reason. Maybe it was the love and affection she got from him or maybe…

“You always act all-high-and-mighty in front of Mortis, don’t you?” Scientia enquired with a quirky face. It was teasing enough, but the face that Alias dropped made her even more vulnerable.

“Say it! Come on, say it!” Aetas dropped a line as well.

“I-I”

Alias struggled to speak, but I knew it from the very beginning that something was uncanny about her. She always acted stiff in front of me. I have always wondered why she did that.

“Really? We don’t have time for this. The Tribunal is about to begin.”

Summa interrupted with an inflexible expression.

“We’re getting late.” I joined Summa, because we were getting late and also I had to save Alias from them or else they both would drink her blood and still won’t feel calm.

“Y-Yes, we need to go.” Alias exhorted and turned around, quickly walking away from us.

We walked away from the open streets and got to a place where there was no rush and no animal in vicinity. Alias opened her palms and waved her arms across, opening a portal for us to walk through.

Walking through it, we could a large mass of land with white sand covering its surface, a lake in between and a tall tower which touched the sky in the between the water.

I looked around, blistering water which flickers when light blow of air touched it. Tress swayed according to the wind currents and leaves falling off the branch, The scenic beauty was amusing and demoralizing as I knew that I am going to be the victim of all the shots fired today.

We all followed the path towards the tower. Water separated and formed us a way, without haste we walked with utmost honor and integrity.

Getting into the tower we stood on a base platform which levitated and led us to the route towards the seminar.

We stopped at topmost point. Walls enclosing us by every side except the top side open. Sunlight found its way inside and brightened the atmosphere. Carvings made up the wall and flowers decorated the interiors at every point. There were dozens of people sitting in a circular order with four thrones placed in a diamond shape. One Throne stood above everyone that overlooked everything which was placed dead last in the corner.

We took our assigned thrones and waited for the arrival of Father.

‘Clack!’

Doors opened with enough force to make us all aware of someone walking in. We all looked above and saw the Father of this world, the one who is responsible for the very existence of this world.

In white drapes with a pope’s hat on his head, Father Tempus walked with gentle steps. We all stood at once to acknowledge his presence and downed our heads to pay him respect.

Everyone downed their heads, servants sat on their knees and some with their arms on their chest. We all welcomed the ‘God of Time’.

He walked through and while doing it stopped in his tracks and looked at me.

“Mortis?”

“Yes, Father?”

“Good to see you here. Have seen your Mother?”

I shook my head in denial.

“She was looking for you. Do see her after this summit.”

“Sure, Father.”

He continued towards his throne which stood dead last in the row. Above us, he looked down and raised his right arm and gestured us to be at ease.

A man walked beside him with a scroll in his hands.

“In the presence of the Lord of Time.”

He said and looked towards Father.

Father nodded.

Gaining his confirmation the man continued, “We shall now begin the ‘Tribunal of Humanity'.”
