Suya tested his latest absorbed ability to gain knowledge about its capabilities and limitations.
“This is fun. It felt like I’m floating in the air. I feel so light and it didn’t make me too tired after using this skill.”
‘But not fast enough, it’s a lot different compared when the troll used it. It seems that the skills you absorb have reduced effect than the original. But it is quite useful; I can now cover much more area than before and I can now escape sticky situations.’
The skill lasted for about twenty seconds, and can be re-used after five minutes.
‘The only downside of this skill is that I can only use it for three times a day.
I think that my mana capacity is very low, anyway it’s not that bad to gain a quite interesting skill.’
After three days of spamming his newfound skill he finally noticed some change in his surroundings.
Suya’s eyebrows crossed to concentrate his view on a certain spot.
“Trees! Finally some change. I’m getting sick at the sight of this desolated land.”
He must be lonely; he casually talks to himself sometimes.
‘There might be some wild animals residing those trees. I can finally find something to eat. The troll meat is too bitter to consume on a regular basis. I hope I can also find some water.’
When he reached the sea of trees, he hid his presence like a lion ready to pounce at its prey.
To his surprise, the leaves of the tree were all brown, not just one tree but in every tree was all the same. Its leaves were not dry.
The lack of sunlight made the leaves turned into brown. This was an unusual sight for Suya because he was often sent to a hidden facility located at the deep of the jungle.
‘I’m missing the lush green trees in that world.’
Suya observed his surroundings out of instinct. He wouldn’t want to risk his second chance after fighting the troll.
That mistake almost took his life without even realizing the life he wanted for himself.
What he really wanted for his is life is for him to live in every moment using his own strength.
He remembered his former world where the people live in a static life; they eat and go to work, when they are tired they rest. Most of the people there were not living the life they wanted; they are just surviving each and every day. Suya didn’t like that kind of life.
‘I’m glad to experience this kind of new life.’
There were movements ahead of him. He slowly draws out his blade, silently crossing over the trees, hiding behind every tree trunk.
What came into his view surprised him.
A wild boar, a normal wild boar that even in his former world existed.
Suya threw his blade, stabbing the poor creature before the blade lodged out of its body. It immediately collapsed on the ground while squeaking violently before it lost its strength to do so.
“Whoa! I didn’t throw it that strong, why did it lodged out of its body? ”
This was his first time using his strength after the fight against the troll, so he was momentarily shocked when he threw his blade away.
A small faint light floated from the corpse of the boar.
It was life essence.
‘So even they got these essences too. But it seems a lot smaller and fainter compared to the troll’s life essence.’
He quickly absorbed the essence, alleviating his thirst and hunger.
“I’m sorry little guy for killing you. Thank you for your sacrifice for giving me a chance to extend my life.”
Suya paid respect for the innocent life he took away. He knew that the boar was also trying to live, and he killed it just for food that is why he always gave his respects to these innocent lives.
“I really hate sneak attacks but I don’t have a choice otherwise this chance will not come by again that easily.”
He took out his bottle from his bag and filled it the boar’s blood before he dismantled it cutting into small pieces of meat. He left the skin as it was hard to consume.
Suya then stored the meat inside a condom. He always brings condoms whenever he was in a mission as it was a great item for protecting things from foreign entities. For those who didn’t know, condoms are great items due to its elasticity; it can even store up to one litre of water. A must have item when you decided to camp out in a forest.
Suya was conscious of the surrounding, he can’t just casually grill the meat that easily as it might attract nearby creatures of this forest.

The light is fading away; it is dangerous to traverse the forest this time, so he decided to rest at the top of the tree.
The former humid temperature from the desolate lands of the west was now a lot cooler.
‘I should test out my skills tomorrow.’
Morning came; Suya couldn’t rest well as he was guarding his surroundings for threats.
Suya wandered deeper into the forest.
Birds, snakes, boars and other different well known animals from Earth existed here; Suya felt nostalgia from these animals. It wasn’t even ten days since he was transported in this world but for him he feel that he already stayed here for a very long time.
A familiar building peeked from the gaps within the trees.
There were houses, built from branches of the trees, its roof was made up of straws of blade grass that is weaved together, it was commonly seen in Asian countries like China, Japan and Philippines.
Suya didn’t approach the suspected village yet; he hid and surveyed the movements of its residents.
It was indeed a small village hidden deep in the forest. What Suya observed was that the villagers were small in stature, around three to four feet high with pale green skin.
Goblins, but there was something strange about their behaviour, according to his worlds descriptions goblins were living in a cave and often live in groups. Instead the goblins before his eyes were few in numbers and seems to be living in a harmonious environment, there are animals scattered around, vegetables planted in every garden and their children playing everywhere.
‘Oho, I think I should change my opinions about goblins.’
Suya’s eyes glistened with wonder about the things before his eyes, like a child that just started to learn to walk. His excitement grew expecting new things to discover about this new world.
As he couldn’t stop himself, he decided to approach the village.
When the villagers noticed Suya’s presence they immediately panicked, some rushed towards their home closing their doors, some stumbled down and others knelt begging for forgiveness while shaking.
“Wha...”
He couldn’t finish his words.
He knew immediately, it was fear. He had already seen it plenty of times, people who are oppressed and extremely abused to their core.
He left the village as soon as possible as he didn’t want to intrude in their private space anymore.
Without acquiring any information Suya traversed the forest once again.
Suya started a fire and decided to cook some meat.
The taste was pretty bland due to lack of seasoning.
Crack
Branches of trees were broken everywhere.
Dried leaves crackled.
“As expected, the smell brought some uninvited visitors.”
Suya was surrounded.
‘It seems the goblins reported me to their owner. It seems that I was wrong, goblin is still a goblin wherever you go.’
There were about ten trolls in every location, all of them were grinning. It seems that they were happy about something.
“New... kind... of... meat...”
“Gihihihi”
“Kill!!”
Suya swallowed the remaining meat in hands before he drew out his blade.
“This is perfect, a chance to test out my abilities.”
“Burst of speed.”
Suya immediately rushed down on the first troll, held the trolls wrist pushing it in front of him before stabbing it at its neck. The first troll immediately collapsed. He picked up the trolls broadsword slashing it to the nearby goblin.
He then rushed again to another troll that held a spear, the troll then started a piercing motion towards Suya but it was slapped away by him making an opening at the troll’s heart.
Stab!
Suya’s stab pierced everything making the blade to protrude out of the troll’s body. As he drew out the blade he sensed something coming towards him.
Fwhiip
An arrow was loose towards Suya, but he used the troll’s corpse as a shield to block the arrow. He took the spear and threw it to the troll archer making its head to explode like a smashed tomato.
The leader like troll shouted.
“All! Kill!”
The remaining seven trolls joined the fray, they attacked Suya simultaneously but to their surprise what they hit is just purely nothing.
Suya’s senses were razor sharp; he can feel everything, every movement at every moment, all of it. He was breathing heavily.

‘It’s light; I can feel my muscles burn and explode with power.’
Time seemed to stop from his vision.
He kicked, stabbed, and slashed his enemies until they were cut into pieces without him realizing that the fight was already over.
When he came back to his senses, the Burst of speed effect just ended, not more than twenty seconds had passed and he killed all of them.
“What is that feeling, it felt like this was not my body anymore. Never in my life had I moved like that even after all those trainings I did in the past.”
Chopped parts of the trolls were scattered all around Suya along with their life essences.
Unfortunately there were not even a single skill crystal was found. He gathered all the life essence in the area and covered it with a cloth taking from the dead troll’s body.
Strangely the cloth didn’t burn even the life essence was emitting a blue flame.
‘It seems that the troll I fought was a special one.’
He can now last a few days without eating due to his harvest.
After walking for a few hours he reached the end of the forest.
Sound of running water prickled the ear of Suya, making him jump in high spirits.
Unfortunately the water was discoloured; a golden brown tint covered the river. But he didn’t care about it, what he was thinking is that this is a chance to clean his body. Ten days’ worth of sweat and grate covered his body.
No matter what happened one should never neglect personal hygiene. This was one of the teachings of her mother when he was a child. He even brought his toothbrush from his supplies.
He chose a place where he could escape at any time if there was something unexpected would happen.
Suya removed all of his clothes before heading out to the water.
Just before he decided to dip in he noticed something that made him falter to wash his body.
“Is this actually me?!”
“Just what the heck happened back there?!”
“My hair! My eyes!”
“Even my body changed a lot!”
His former black hair turned into a metallic shade gray while his former hazel brown eyes was also the same color as his hair. His medium built body was replaced by a slimmer figure along with an outlined body of an athlete.
Suya immediately remembered his skills.
‘So basically if I have to see my absorbed skill I have to use the keyword ‘Show absorbed skills’’
‘How about if I try it like this, ‘Show all skills’”
He touched a nearby boulder.
“Show all skills.”
Light covered his palm and a portion in the boulder before it displayed the information.
