Chapter 1: Past Life Present Life

Chapter 1: Past Life Present Life

Remembering my whole life I’m sure that it was like this:

I was born on the second day of November in the year 1990, the day of the dead in some countries, my father was the one who decided my name, and he gave me the name Suya, the first born of the family. Later on my mother birthed to four more children, three girls and another boy. Mother died after birthing to my youngest brother. It was quite hard to live without a mother. I never experienced motherly love when I was a child

My awareness started when I was one year old. Numbers, letters, shapes, colors I already managed to understood all of those and can compute basic numeric operations that most of the children at my age couldn’t comprehend.

It was funny that my first word spoken was ‘shit’.

When I was five years old father brought me at a special type of school, the school of the gifted. They tested me there, shown different images, computations, puzzle solving, abstract reasoning and others; luckily I managed to answer them perfectly. It seems that I do have a gift of knowledge.

The news spread like wildfire among our neighbors that the son of Rivendeau family was a genius. Countless praises rained down on me, gifts were sent down to my home. It was actually annoying; I know that those pieces of shit were only trying to win my parents favor because the government fully supports individuals who have great talent that they could use in the future. Behind those big smiles and great gifts lies a fucked up meaning. My father was grinning about the gifts we received from the neighbors. It seems he liked the event so much that he couldn’t stop his grinning.

Casette players and Betamax were the hottest thing in that era, I shown great interest at those items especially when rewinding the whole tape. Sometimes I’d pull out its magnetic tape and drag it around the neighborhood or strap it to a kite. It actually looks amazing in the sky; they flutter with the blow of the wind and shines when the sun hit the tapes.

Until I turned nine years old, I got bored at school. Every time we took an exam I always get a perfect score. They required me to read different set of books, books that even a nine-year old kid wouldn’t even dare to read. I’m getting tired of it.

I started to try different things that would entertain me, at first it was drawing then it turned into painting. Our school teacher in arts took interest in my painting, basically I call it scribbles becaus for me it was just making a different set of lines and splashing it with different colors. Different art-loving individuals started to look for me asking for me to paint more. They even go to our house just to convince me to paint, sometimes they bring gifts of different kind from food to the latest trends of gadgets. It was just a hobby for entertainment at first but now it was like this so I stopped painting, I don't want other people to annoy me when I'm entertaining myself.

My father beat the shit out of me when I quitted painting. But he couldn't convince me even he beat me to death so he then decided to stop. I didn't retort even he hurt me because I still respect my father even if he was like that.

When I was at a certain shopping mall, I accidentaally stumbled at a toy robot that is controlled by a remote control. It picked my interest and started working to develop my own toy, I started to scavenge some old toys from my schoolmates those toys that they didn't use anymore and started to create my own. I actually developed a simple robot capable of jumping, punching and even transform into something else, of course it was a remote controlled toy but instead of using a traditional remote control, I used my fingers to actually control it. Some toy company took interest at the toy I developed, so they contacted my father and paid him in huge amount just to meet me and get the formula on how to develop that toy. The toy was immediately gained fame among the customers making that company to boom in their line of business leaving their competitors in the dust.

I then stopped forming strange kinds of hobby, it brings troubles to my life and hinders me from enjoying things that would entertain me.

When I finished my secondary education I asked my father if I can enroll to a normal type of school. You know, where most of the students are just average. Not too smart and not too dumb. My father agreed to my idea in one condition, that I must be the top student at that school.

I gained some friends after some time, true friends that will never abandon you just to have some fun. Sometimes we go to the nearby river behind the school after skipping the class. We are fully naked whenever we go to that river.

Ah remembering those old days. It was still clear as it was just yesterday.

“What the hell are you waiting for Suya?! Get naked and jump down here! The water is great!”

Aljay shouted after diving in the water.

“Wohooo! This is fun! Next time we should try bringing some beer, we have some at my father’s refrigerator!”

“That’s an incredible idea Bernard!”

Ren said to Bernard.

“What are you waiting for Suya? Come here now!”

After undressing, I felt a strange sensation to my back.

“What the fuck!”

It was our teacher along the girls in my class.

The teacher started to run at my direction. These girls surely notified our teacher about our plan.

He was shocked when he saw me stark naked.

“What do you think you are doing Mr. Rivendeau?”

“Ahh, It’s nothing sir. It’s just a bit too hot and decided to undress.”

“Quickly wear your clothes now. And come with me to the principal’s office!”

“Uhhh”

The girls were now closer then they started to scream.

“Kyaaaaah!!!!”

They screamed after they saw something dangling between my legs.

“I’m sorry sir.”

I jumped where my friends were waiting for me and the teacher started to scream.

“Suyaaaaaa!!!!”

We crossed the river while naked laughing wholeheartedly.

The next morning, me and my friends were sent to the principal’s office along with our parents.

We waited outside the room while our parents were inside the office.

After a while our angry parents started to walk in front of us, some parents dragged their children away.

“Aljay, Bernard, Ren.”

They didn’t look back to my direction rather their parents did with scornful eyes gazing towards my direction.

“Do you know what you did Suya?!”

“Those kids were kicked out of school!”

“I don’t care about them. They deserved it for ruining your studies.”

“I expected much better from you Suya.”

Expectations, that single word is enough to destroy a man and his dreams. I really hate that word.

That night my father beat the shit out of me.

The next day I didn’t see any of my friends. The principal pardoned my actions because they didn’t want to let go of me that will bring great achievements to their school. They see me as a prodigy, a mere tool to gain merits and fame to the people.

Thus the boring kind of life returned to me once again.

This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

I decided to immerse myself on gaming like ‘Leg of Legends’, ‘DUDA 2’, and ’Ever Watch’, reading light novels and watching anime or movies especially those adventure type stories.

Thus my elementary and high school life ended quietly.

College life, it was a little bit entertaining for me. I managed to have a girlfriend out of curiosity. We loved each other but still we broke up. Experiencing the so called love is pretty interesting, and the most fabulous thing about it is the 18+ stuff.

I graduated earlier than my peers; I was just 18 years old when I graduated due to skipping few years of college.

They say that I have good insights for business after predicting what would happen in stock market. One of the big boss in the market heard my statements and decided to hire me for a year. Whenever they needed me they paid me in six figures sometime seven. This was a horrendously sick profession, just by spatting out words of utter nonsense you earn hundreds of thousands even millions of piece of paper.

When I accumulated enough fortune to support my family, I deposited ninety percent of my savings for them. Gave my brother and sisters some pocket money and even paid for their school. After the contract was fulfilled I refused their proposal for renewing the contract for another year. The job made me sick. Its total bullshit, if they have that kind of money they should have given that to the farmers. They are the one who works hard to feed all three billion people.

I decided to rent my own room for my own satisfaction.

Now that my chance finally came to return to my former life you know the usual thing for a bored man (gaming, reading, watching), some called it a losers way of life but for me it was a paradise for reducing my accumulated boredom.

Three years already came to pass without me noticing.

Kriiing... Kriiing... Kriiiing

“Ahhh, goddamn! This alarm annoys me every damn time.”

Suya opened his eyes, after he stood up; he scratched his butt a few times.

Krrrrrr Grrrrrrr

“It’s already this late. I didn’t notice the time.”

He then scavenged for food in his floor. There lie countless cups of instant noodles.

“Shit. I forgot to shop some food last night.”

He was too immersed in playing the latest edition of ‘Text of Duty’.

“Ahh I feel like I’m dying.”

He then lied down again to his bed.

Bang! Bang!

The door exploded due to the banging of the door before it was forcefully opened with a loud thud.

‘Shit it’s my father.’

“What’s the problem dad?”

“What’s the problem you say?! You’re the problem! Look at yourself! You look like a fat piece of bag shit!”

‘Ah. Now that he said it I rarely get to groom myself. My beard was all over my face and I gained some weight.’

The former prodigy was now overrun by his corrupted lifestyle.

“What are you doing lazing around like a pig in a pen?! Three years had passed and you’re still not looking for a job! You wasted that chance to make a fortune for yourself and your family!”

‘What? Is it about the money now? I don’t care about money. Piece of paper is still a piece of paper at the end of the day. It will not make you feel alive just by having it. True it has some uses but that is just a tool for everyday life.’

“You failed my expectations!”

‘Tsk! That word again.’

“So? What is it that you wanted dad?”

“You dare to talk to me now?! Don’t you forget who fed that filthy mouth of yours when you were still wetting your bed! Pweh!”

“I have no use for you anymore!”

So my assumptions were right, my father only wanted to use my knowledge for gaining money. Well I don’t care about it.

“I don’t have a first son anymore. He died today remember that!”

My daily life of entertainment shattered that day. Everything that I collected for three whole years of being a NEET has gone to waste after my father burned everything existed in my room except for my clothes and some important documents.

I left my apartment then decided to try something new, something fresh that might entertain this life stricken with thing called boredom. Maybe if I wasn’t born with high intellect I might not have lived like this.

I’m starting to hate this world.

I decided to join the military; luckily I managed to pass the exam even though my physical examination results almost failed due to lack of exercise.

For some reason, a secret government organization took interest in me.

The examination process was just a cover up for them to filter talented applicants then send them to their organization.

They handpicked three more of the new applicants; blind folded us and removed our consciousness. When we woke up we are already in a completely sealed room.

The lights suddenly went out and there was chaos, I felt a fist planted in my face, I was immediately brought down. Another hit came one after the other, the bastards introduced some kicks to our abdomen. We were already grasping for air but the attacks seemed to be endless. After that I don’t know what happened anymore.

Splash

I woke from the sudden feeling of coldness that dampened my skin, my body hurts everywhere. My eyes wandered for a moment analyzing the situation. In front of me there stood a man with a body that seems to carved out by the gods itself filled with different size of scars.

He asked me.

“Do you know why you are here?”

I didn’t answer.

Pak!

A powerful slap was met by my cheeks. Instead of pain I felt excitement.

What?! I’m not an M. I was just getting excited of these new feelings. I think this would be a worthwhile experience to blow off my accumulated boredom after few weeks of doing nothing.

“Do you know why you are here?”

“Yes sir! I am going to serve the country sir!”

After analyzing the situation this man might be my manager so I called him sir.

“Good response. Then what will you do here?”

“To follow everything you ordered sir!”

“Ha ha ha! I like you fresh meat. What’s the name?”

“Suya Rivendeau sir!”

“What is your opinion about the fresh meat grinding that you experienced?”

‘Wait, what?! Fresh meat grinding?! They beat us out and it seems like fun for them. These people are sick!’

“It’s a warm greeting sir! The greatest greet I received in my whole life sir!”

“Bwahahaha I really like this new guy. From now on I will be your instructor. I will teach you different kind of skills. From fighting, seduction, espionage, arms assembly/disassembly and every kind of skills that you need to survive.”

“We do not exist in the public eye, only few know of our existence. We work in the dark and stays in the dark.”

Thus the days of hell started.

Every day is like a new day in here after training for one whole year I am now ready to start my first mission.

They mobilized us new recruits and two more veterans to guide us. Our first mission was to infiltrate some country in Asia and disable a nuke facility. They will drop us to a forest in the dead of the night and gave us 72 hours to complete the mission.

It actually felt like I’m playing ‘Text of Duty or Bafflefield’. I am getting really excited; this is my first mission, my decision was right to join the military. I never felt this kind of excitement before.

When we started to infiltrate the facility the guards immediately poured bullets to our position. Randolph the black man decided to throw a smoke bomb to prevent their vision. He was one of the new recruits. He’s a good man we often spar when we were training at the facility; they called him Blade because he preferred katana when sparring. We ran across the fence taking cover fire every time a comrade cross the smoke. Finally we entered the facility by cutting the fence.

Suddenly a shot came behind us; Ian was hit in the head making him to collapse instantly. All those harsh trainings to survive were expunged in a single moment rendering everything for naught.

I got scared at the thought of it but first surviving is my top priority. These mixed feelings, fear, excitement, anger, dissatisfaction all of it converged within me bringing forth a new feeling.

‘This is it! This is what makes you feel alive!’

Finally i found it.

But the greatest blunder has yet to happen.

Bang!

Another shot came down, but it didn’t hit anyone.

Suya saw where the shot came, he aimed from where it was, held his breath for a moment then...

Bang!

A single shot was plastered to the head of the enemy.

‘Huh? Huuuuuh????!!!!’

Is that it?! This isn’t how it should be!

A single squeeze of the trigger drained all of his motivation. Later on they managed to secure the facility. But Suya seems down even after the success of their first mission.

A single shot killed my target. Where’s the fun in that?

Now that I remember those light novels where they slaughter enemies in one shot. THAT IS A BUNCH OF SHITLESS COWARDS WHO DIDN’T EVEN KNOW HOW TO ENJOY THE SITUATION! THEY ARE SO PATHETIC. IT’S MAKING ME SICK JUST BY THINKING ABOUT IT!

Just think about it, imagine a weak goblin get blasted by gun without it knowing that it was already dead, those little weak creatures also struggle to live and some stupid fucking random guy with OP powers uses a gun to insta-kill the struggling weak creature. Come one give them a chance to fight back even a little as a respect for them, at least let them fight for their life too.

Suya was pissed off for those MC’s who one shot their enemies with a gun.

You see my friend the more you struggle the more interesting your life would be. That is my ideal life to entertain this boring life. But this world couldn’t even give me this kind of life.

I wish I wasn’t born here.

Every time he went to a mission he tried to prevent to use his gun as much as possible rather he preferred to use knives and bolo to finish off the enemy.

This method slightly entertained him but not for long.

I’m getting tired of this. How many times did I have bored? I’m sick of it.

Three years came to pass.

His comrades called him Immortal because he charges the front lines with only blades at his disposal but he still managed to live to tell the tale. Countless missions were given to him and every mission were completed even the most difficult mission he would clear it just using blades at his disposal. He often went solo when going into a mission.

He was well versed to different kinds of killing techniques and strategies thanks to his mentor and his gift of knowledge and god-like reflexes (the gift of gaming).

The most feared agent in the world, even the dead will tremble before Suya’s might.

‘I don’t have any use for this papers Instead of making it rot in the bank I should give it to the ones who deserves this.’

All of his accumulated money was spent to buy a large piece of land then he decided to donate it to the farmers. He even built a school and a hospital spending all of his savings.

‘I should quit the organization.’

He pondered for a moment.

“Agent Suya please head to the briefing room.”

They paged Suya in his room.

‘I have a bad feeling about this.’

“Good day Agent Suya. You have a mission. Your final mission.”

“Good, I was even thinking of quitting the organization. Tell me the details.”

“Take the paper under the desk; it contains the information of the location.”

“You assigned to infiltrate and destroy the target.”

It was a desolate place, one that didn’t exist in an ordinary map.

‘They’re trying to eliminate me. Let’s see about it. Give me your very best, entertain me!’

The organization feared Suya for becoming too powerful for an agent and he knows too much. They decided to nip out the buds from its root to eliminate the problem. But all of these were seen through by Suya.

‘I don’t care about it now; I don’t have any attachment to this world anymore.’

“When do we leave?”

“1200 hours from now on. Meet me at the Heliport.”

“Okay.”
