Mechanical crunching and folding sounds of metal against metal filled the air. The anima was eating the dead anima bodies. The mechanical flesh turned to scrap metal in its jaws. It swallowed large chunks like some massive horrifying carnivorous creature. The creature straightened and shuddered as the chunks moved down its throat before settling in its innards.
King Langus watched wide-eyed while cowering behind his throne which he had only moments ago sat proudly in. Some king he is Thought Iota. It hadn’t even been a day and he was already proving useless.
Iota put himself in view of the anima In his hands he was swinging a heavy chain. He felt awfully small standing in front of it. He would have thought he would feel more heroic but that was not the case. The creature instantly noticed him and went his way. Iota flung the chains which consequently wrapped around its legs. It stumbled and fell over itself. It hadn’t managed to even get off its platform.

“Watch out!” Shouted a soldier. Iota glanced towards the voice. One of the cruck’s that had been pulling the platform was barreling towards the anima.
It slammed into the platform and catapulted into the air and onto the anima.
Iota looked at where the cruck had been. Noire was there. He gave Iota a thumbs up grinning.
The anima shuddered under the weight. It squirmed under the weight and ripped large chunks of the cruck off but was unable to break free. Its jaws opened. The corners of my vision turned black. I could hear shouts and cries from soldiers and the panicked crowd. They couldn’t have been more than a couple meters away but it felt like they were worlds away. Iota’s sweat ran cold. The jaws seemed to magnify in his vision. Is this what death feels like? he thought.
A concentrated white-hot beam blasted forth from the creature’s mouth. He had the good sense to drop to the ground. It blasted into the building next to Iota melting right through it. Hot globs of melted scrap metal, as well as acrid smoke, filled the air. The anima turned while the beam kept firing. It swirled around blasting buildings. It sliced right through the cruck of King Langus and his brothers had been. They disintegrated in less than an instant, not even their bones remained.
