Xiao Xiang

'No... seriously? Did that woman somehow come into possession of a temporal beast!'

Connate Dao creatures, born from the chaos, possessing an innate comprehension of the Dao of time, some even refer to them as the children of the temporal Dao and the residents of the sea of time.

Their mastery over the power of time is impeccable, allowing them to traverse the river of time without causing any major ripples.

'If she went through the river of time using a temporal beast's power... then that would explain how most do not remember anything. However, even then, considering that it was capable of causing such a great disturbance successfully even though the entire chaos, including it's kin, would have opposed this regression, this beast's original power should be close to the peak of the Dao step perhaps even half step into the realm beyond...'

Cupping his chin, Jianyu remained silent for a while and concluded, "It seems like, I will have to visit Grandfather sooner than I expected..."

'It must be in a weakened state after having brought Xifeng back in time... if I can find its traces... I must 'obtain' it before anyone else.'

An ominous glow settled into Jianyu's once dull and darkened amethyst eyes.

'Or eliminate it'

Today, the usually turbulent Serene Waters Peak enjoyed uncharacteristically fine weather with sunny skies, a rare sight considering the mystical mountain's reputation as one of the profound heavens sect's five great peaks known for its characteristic bad weather.

The picturesque sight of the azure skies, adorned by the sun and picturesque swirling clouds was also a unique experience for Xiao Xiang, as she saw the azure sky for the first time.

Xiao Xiang who hadn't been able to see the world through her eyes since her birth had gained this menial joy through the help of her master, Yin Meili. Although it was for only a few moments, thanks to Yin Meili's help she could perceive the wondrous beauty of the world just like the others.

"It's beautiful, but..." Xiao Xiang had expected this sight to be much more breathtaking, however... "It feels lackluster in comparison..."

She murmured a gentle sadness resonating in her voice. Her thoughts drifted back to that fateful day, the memory of him, his voice that still held sway over her heart. With a sigh, she surrendered to the tide of memories, allowing them to wash over her like gentle waves.

However, breaking her reverie a familiar voice resonated in her mind, |Disciple.|

Hearing the familiar feminine voice, Xiao Xiang turned toward the direction, where she could 'sense' the voice's owner.

"Master!" with a slight smile on her face, Xiao Xiang bowed respectfully in her 'master's' direction.

Recognizing Xiao Xiang's bow the voice continued, |Xiang'er, I want you to...|

When her master, Yin Meili, asked her to deliver a message, she eagerly accepted and rushed to her destination. Xiao Xiang's heart swelled with excitement as she made her way towards the Lunar-Frost Peak.

Her unique sight had allowed her to perceive people's souls rather than their appearances, and along with it came all the malice that the person's soul held. Yet, she still felt eager to catch a glimpse of the soul she had seen before, a captivating sight, an ethereal Amethyst gem-like presence shrouded in a dark mist.

As she reached the gate at the foot of the Lunar-Frost peak she was greeted by a young woman in black robes, her facial features hidden by a veil of darkness,

"Xiao Xiang, Disciple of grand elder Yin," The woman used her spiritual sense to check for any unusual artifacts, but didn't probe too deeply as to not offend the Grand elder Yin, normally even this would have been a breach of manners however, considering the rather complicated situation of her young master, she believed it to be a necessary action,

"What is the purpose of your visit today?"

"I've come to deliver my master's message." Thankfully Xiao Xiang wasn't a rigid person and didn't create a ruckus for this reason.

"Alright, follow me." The woman in black stated monotonously.

While climbing the mountain, noticing the various cultivators of great strength through her ability, Xiao Xiang began to wonder the reason for such tight security. However, she just attributed it to Jianyu being the heir of the great Xin family.

“Miss Xiao," As they rode a flying sword, the woman in black suddenly began speaking, "Before we reach your destination I want to warn you about something.”

Feeling the weight of the woman's words, Xiao Xiang paused for a moment before responding, "Yes?"

"Recently, there had been some issues with the young master's cultivation and he had to seclude himself for this reason." As the woman said this the atmosphere around her changed to a gloomy one, "Please make sure to not speak of what you see today to anyone else."

"Understood..." Xiao Xiang replied, feeling something weigh upon her chest as she answered.

...

Upon reaching her destination, the disciple's residence she was greeted by Lei Qiang, who asked her to wait as she went to inform Jianyu about her arrival.

However, as she waited for Lei Qiang's return alongside the woman in black who had guided her, she used her ability to look toward the disciple's residence only to be shocked by the bizarre vision she saw.

It was the most grotesque thing she had ever seen, ominous clouds of darkness swirled around the disciple's residence, and smoky mist swirled and shifted turning into hundreds of demonic faces filled with anguish. Screaming and screeching as they cried in anguish and at the center of it all was a single soul dimmed by the darkness.

Realizing who the soul trapped within the darkness was, Xiao Xiang rushed toward the disciple's residence.

However, her path was blocked by the woman in black who had guided her to here, "What are you doing?" She asked, aggression evident in her voice.

However, Xiao Xiang just ignored her and rushed towards the disciple's residence, “Lady Xiao? What are you doing here? Didn’t I ask you to wait outside?” Lei Qiang who was in front of Jianyu's room asked with furrowed brows, as she looked at Xiao Xiang dubiously.

"Young lord Jianyu!" Even though she was short of breath, Xiao Xiang spoke hurriedly, "He's in danger!"

Lei Qiang's face paled instantly as she knew about Xiao Xiang's ability, although she wasn't sure about the specifics it was safe to assume that it was a high-tiered ability considering that grand elder Yin made her a direct disciple.

*Thak!!

Without wasting a moment's time, Lei Qiang turned toward the door behind her, forcefully opening the door to Jianyu's room.

Upon entering the room, they were all shocked to see the sight in front of their eyes.

There he was on the ground, his body contorting in agony, blood leaking from his orifices, and smoky, chaotic qi escaping through the cracks that veiled his entire body. His face contorted with intense suffering.

"Young master!"
