Once out of the room with a tidied up Sofia and Sandra we head out to the adventurers guild main hub, with a quest board and a world map.

Zutal: “What difference between mission and quest?”
Sandra: “A mission is offered by a governmental body, like the guild or a lord and has a specific adventurer party in mind, where as a quest is targeted at anyone that is at the criteria or above, these criteria can also be highly detailed but are usually something like, ‘must have a druid for plant harvesting or requires a swordsman class for bodyguard duty’.”
Zutal: “Really, anyone?”
Sandra: “Yes, even a farmer can take on a quest, but they need to be signed officially with the guild, it helps expand our business and get new contacts with different guilds around the country and in other countries having their own expertise..”
Sofia: “Okay that is enough, or I might actually fall asleep after such a tough workout.”
Both women start breathing heavily and have their eyes dilate at past memories. If I want to learn more about the world then I need to finish these Sentient Common language lessons from Marie with a helping from Sofia, can’t be using her as my only translator in a foreign world.
Sandra: “AHH. I just remembered, I have to have your familiar signed into our own paperwork. Please hold.”
As Sandra slithers away from us we are left to ponder the words on the quest board for both entertainment but also potential monetary gain. After Sandra returns with a piece of paper and sits us down at a table we begin recounting our meeting and have to state our names, class and abilities for the record, all of which Sandra has been diligently recording on the same piece of paper as though it is infinite.
Once we finish Sandra turns the paper around to us and it feels weird on my eyes, the page ends but the writing just scrolls on without finishing. ‘Nope, none of that non-Euclidean nonsense, I have had enough.’

Sandra: “Make sure this information is correct. I know it might hurt your eyes Zutal but you have to read it and sign at the bottom with your master, this is how we scribes save so much space with our paperwork.”
‘Ah yes, break laws of physics to save money costs on paper. Why couldn’t I think of something even more ludicrous, like a black hole piece of paper that gets stretched not only in dimensions but time as well, allowing multiple people to write on the same piece of paper with no overlap.’
[Gained an inspiration token from your god, use later in a fight by thinking of it to get a bonus in attack and defence for an hour.]
‘Uh, that’s definitely not normal’
Reading the paper and signing has both me and Sofia with a splitting headache, although Sandra is all too happy about recent events and her job being made easy with little fuss from us. ‘I can only imagine what a weaker constitution person might begin to feel after looking at the paper for too long, is it possible to die from looking at something not meant for your classes eyes, or will I go insane and starts scribbling the Old Ones language from HP Lovecraft?’
As we leave the guild base I am left pondering where the rest of the party went, although it will most likely be the port city it would have been nice if they slowed their pace down so we could catch up… on second thought we did take a while back in the guild and the sun is setting.
Sofia catches a ride on an empty wagon and we arrive at the city, although the exterior of the Snout Port is the better name for it. We can see run down wooden shacks and plenty of monsters in and out of collars, or chains walking about.
Zutal: “Why do some monster have leather collars and other have metal ones?”
Sofia: “The wealth of their owners and the value of the monster play a part in what sort of treatment a slave gets. Once we reach the city you will see a variety of collars, with some being worth more than our own party combined, but everything is dependent as it is with everything. And before you ask the collars act as magical bindings to a master, on the collar is magic and their masters name, however with you being bound to me by the Goddess Gaea herself such a thing is unnecessary. “
With us reaching the large grey walls made of slabs of stone similar to the pyramids I begin to think about what sort of wonders I will see inside, giant mansions with gothic architecture with some old medieval English pubs hidden in dark alleyways. However, as we stop my day dreaming stops and my eyes lands on the large gates leading into the city.
Soldier: “Halt. State your occupation and reason for entering the city.”
Coachman: “Finished delivering food supplies to the adventurers guild and coming back now.”
Sofia: “I am an adventurer, and you will let me through.”
‘Well, considering the mans widening eyes I guess that the title does mean something around here even if a farmer could be an adventurer.’
Soldier: “A and w-who are you sir.”
*Deep Chuckles
Zutal: “A monster.”
The unnerved soldier looks to Sofia before waving us through with no more questions as we enter the city, sitting for a few more minutes and then heading off into a dark alley. What mysteries does a city like this hold, I can only wonder.
