"Hey, Mr.! Thanks for the house! I'm sorry we couldn't fuck."
"Don't worry about it. It was nice meeting you two."
"Likewise! Come see us again real soon!"
"Yeah, we'll see."
With that reluctant exchange, I pressed the button on Rou's tablet that gets us out of this situation.
"…"
"…"
"We should have just lazed on the ship."
"Mhm… Captain's fault. He must have known it would happen."
"Hey, I thought I did pretty good. Give me some credit."
"Mmm, I suppose you did well."
"So in return, I should get cookies right?"
"Yay! Let's do it! Snicker-doodles or chocolate chip?"
"Both?"
"Yay!"
In the end, we made ice cream sandwiches. Watching everyone suffer from brain freezes was a secret pleasure. It, unfortunately, messed with our appetite for dinner though. We all got stern talkings-to by Mirna.
Not fair, it's her fault for making such delicious cookies.
But I did introduce the ice cream, so I guess we share the blame.
"Captain is trying to fatten us up."
"Not true."
"Mm, he was playing with my stomach last night. I think he likes a little fluffiness!"
"No, no I was just doing that because you have a cute navel. No, we are getting off topic."
"There was no topic Captain."
"Mhm, that's right. Well, then let's think of one."
Preferably one that's not embarrassing.
"Captain, are you excited to meet the other heroes?"
"Oh. That's a good question. Hmm, well yeah I would say I'm excited. I want to see what type of people they are. I doubt they will be dangerous people but I think this is a good chance to investigate my opponents."
"You are a demon first of course."
"Mm exactly. Hero comes second, first I need to be assured of my safety."
"Are you going to beat them all into submission? It would be a pretty good idea. Show them who's the boss."
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
A few of the crew nod to the statement.
"No, I don't plan to. I think if they think little of me I will have made a good impression."
"Hmm?"
"I don't want them to always think. ‘Oh I can't solve this, better call Cole'."
"That's true."
"Mhm."
"Are you nervous they might find out your real identity?"
"Not particularly. How would they? Unless one of them is a spirit. In which case they wouldn't narc."
"Mmm, but they could smell you like Coya or Khara"
"True, well we will climb that bridge when we come to it."
I'm not worried. Heroe's are just normal people. They are probably around as strong as Clove or Calis. Nothing my crew can't handle.
"We should be on our best behavior though, let's try not to purposely antagonize anyone."
"I think that's only you who does that Captain."
"What about El and Donwyn?"
"True."
"Hey I wasn't antagonistic, he started it!"
"Also true. But you understand what I mean right? We don't want to start a fight right off the bat. Obviously, if they do something that isn't nice I will take care of them though."
"""Yes Captain.""" The crew responds in sync.
"Good. Also, we are going to keep it to non-Triff-made weapons. I would rather they not know about our technological level. Especially considering we haven't shared any of it yet."
"What about the boat?"
"Well the ECC guys are selling those engine packs now, so I don't mind that knowledge being spread."
"That's right weren't we going to start selling the ‘Captain Killer Rifle' 1.0?"
"Yeah, it seems there is high demand for it in farming and hunting circles."
"I want Minerva to check it first though. I trust the Captain Killer Rifle but I want to be sure nothing can go wrong."
"Shouldn't we rename that?"
"Hmm? Why?"
No reason I guess.
