My name is Luna Moonglade. I currently live with my parents, Orrian and Cellica Moonglade, my brother, Raziel, and our maid Aurae. Aurae is an ex-adventurer who was part of my dad’s adventure party, when she retired she become our maid. I heard from my mom that my dad was the leader of one of the strongest adventure party in Aetaes. My mother seemed to also be part of the same adventure party that my dad belonged to. My brother, Raziel, can only be described as a genius, since he was young, he has been always doing things that would be impossible for people his age. Later he has started training with dad, I heard from mom that dad has been training him very hard but still he never quits and continues training without rest.

Since the time I can remember, I have always wanted to stay as closer to my brother, Raziel, as possible. Mom says that when I was young I would always hold on to Raziel and never let go of him. I remember that when he started to walk he told me to stop always holding onto him. I thought that he had begun to hate me and when I thought about it, I became very sad but I remember that he would always come back and let me hold onto him after he had walked around the room for a while. I don’t know why but I feel that if I stay closer to my brother I will be safe, the weird thing is I that feel safe with my brother than with either my father or mother.

“Luna, get down here right now.” (Cellica)

Oops, I seemed to be caught by my mom for skipping Aurae’s classes. Even though I like Aurae, it is boring and I want to be with Raz because he gets to skip it. I  know why my brother doesn’t need to learn it but still I want him to be at least with me when I study.

I tried to slowly sneak away from the house to go find Raziel when I was caught be mom.

“Luna, where might you be heading.” (Cellica)

“Ha.., I was just about to go and find Aurae so that I can start my classes, mom.” (Luna)

“Really, I thought that you might be heading to see Raz, because I don’t think that Aurae has left the house today.” (Cellica)

“Ha.., I must have missed her when I searched for her inside.” (Luna)

“Hahahaha, Luna you’re getting better at lying than before. But still don’t you think that it is bad to lie to your mom like that.” (Cellica)

“But mom” (Luna)

“I know that you miss you brother since he began training, only comes home when it is time to eat or sleep. Your brother is more of a training maniac than your father. I just don’t get why he is in a rush to become stronger.” (Cellica)

“When I asked about it, he said that he wanted to protect those who he holds dear to him.” (Luna)

“I don’t get why Raz is so determined to become strong. Anyway let’s stop getting side tracked and get back to yelling at you skipping classes again.” (Cellica)

“Sorry, mom. It is just too boring sit there and studying.” (Luna)

“I know that studying is boring right now but if you don’t study and get smart you won’t be able to be with Raziel when he leaves for school. Don’t you want to be together with Raziel rather than be with us while you brother is at school?” (Cellica)

“But mom, how come I have to study know to go to school with brother? Isn’t going to school supposed be to study?” (Luna)

“That is right Luna, but if you want to be in the same class as your brother. Then you need to study now so that you will now everything that your brother knows.” (Cellica)

“Okay, mom. But do you know where brother went because I could find him at his usual place where he trains.” (Luna)

“Oh, Raz said that he will be going to the forest to train today because your father is busy with arranging stuff so that we can move to Ashelian.” (Cellica)

“But mom isn’t the forest a dangerous place, wouldn’t there be scary monsters in them.” (Luna)

“Luna, do think your father would let your brother go to the forest, if the forest was dangerous. Most of the dangerous monsters in the forest are exterminate by the soldiers regularly, so there shouldn’t be anything too dangerous in them.” (Cellica)

“Mom, do you think that we will be alright in Ashelian? Why don’t we just live here? There aren’t anyone here that doesn’t like us.” (Luna)

“Well, Luna I know that you like the place but you haven’t seen Ashelian. I know for sure that if you were to see Ashelian then you might even forget about Y’Olin. Plus you will get to go out more and you will meet with your cousin. I heard that she is the same age as you.” (Cellica)

“Mom, do you think that brother will be alright with going to Ashelian?” (Luna)

“Why do you ask that?” (Cellica)

“Be..because I haven’t seen anyone with black hair before. Everyone in the village either has blond hair or greyish hair and only Raz has black hair.” (Luna)

“Luna, the colour of the hair doesn’t really matter very much because there are lots of types of  Elven hair such as  blond, grey, white, and emerald. There are also few black haired elves it is just that we don’t see them as much. In the past, you were able to tell the origin of an elf by the hair colour such as brown or emerald haired elves were mainly wood elves, white haired elves were high elves and the grey haired elves were part of the moon elves. But since the creation of the Elven kingdom, elves didn’t have to marry elves from the same tribe. So nowadays it is hard to say which tribes they belong to by their hair colour.” (Cellica)

“Really! I thought that brother was special, that’s why he had different colour hair than us.” (Luna)

“Well darling, your brother is definitely special, it’s just that he hair colour isn’t the reason for it. Anyway Luna, let’s go inside. It’s already getting dark outside, your brother should be returning soon. When he is back, we can ask about what he did in the forest.” (Cellica)

Alright, mom. I can’t wait for brother to get home, so that I could ask all about the things that happened in the forest.” (Luna)

Both mom and I went back into the house so that we could wait for brother to return from his little adventure into the forest. I am still a little worried about him, I hope that nothing bad happened to him.

As night approached, I was getting more worried about brother as he still haven’t returned. I was trying to make sure that I didn’t make mom more worried because I know that mother is already worried about brother. I didn’t want her to worry about me to.

As I was worrying about what had happened to my brother as he has never been late before. When I heard the door opening, both mom and I ran towards the door to see if who it was that came home. But when the door opened I was a bit disappointed as it was brother but dad. When we told him what had happened, he told all of his soldiers that was stationed at the town to go search for brother.

As the time passed I was getting more anxious about what had happened to brother. Everyone who have been sent to search for my brother return without finding any clue about him. When I heard that they couldn’t find anything about my brother, I was getting really worried and helpless as I couldn’t do anything to help my brother. I began to wonder that if I was as strong as my brother then I could have gone with him and made sure that he didn’t get into any trouble.

As I was wondering about these things, I heard chat from the outside of the house. I am sure that I can hear Raz’s voice so I ran to the windows that were in my room to check and make sure that it is Raz.

Raz came into the house and told us all of the things that had happened to him today. When I was listening to him talk about all of things that he had done and experienced, I felt like I was left behind. All I could feel was angry at myself for not being strong enough to be together with Raz. If only I was strong as Raz then I could also be together with him forever. This was the only thing that was in my mind and I had made my mind in study and getting strong as my brother. But first I had to make sure that my brother wouldn’t leave me behind so I told dad and mom that I wanted to always be together with Raz. Both of them thought it was a brilliant idea because if I am with him, he wouldn’t try to do something very dangerous like sleeping in the forest with any care in the world. Since that day, I have been making sure that Raz has never left my immediate view.
