Alex was feeling all kinds of wrong. His eyes were heavy, and his body was weak and stiff. His mind was a mess and it was hard to hold onto a thought. Without understanding, he instinctively wanted to grab onto something before a sudden pain shot up through his whole body. In a moment a warm feeling started to fill his whole body. Suddenly with pure clarity filling his mind, as if he was one with the universe and could see and feel everything in it, his body felt like the last piece of a large puzzle. He had full control over every part of his body at the same time, and he could effortlessly control it. Before he could even have a moment to think about this feeling, he took his first breath.
There exist many planes; however, they are not equal. Some are vast and filled with diverse life fighting for dominance. Others are calm peaceful paradises where everyone works together for to better the world. There are planes where every moment is blissful, while others are chaotic voids filled with conflict. Most, if not all, planes, however, have humans. There seem to be as many types of humans as there are planes. They have a tendency to repeat their actions, even though they should have no connection to each other. Many humans have had their memory storages destroyed by thinking about this phenomenon. But there is one thing that everyone knows: that even in the darkest corners of reality, places forgotten by everyone and everything, you can find human bones.
The plane of reality that Jake found himself in was considered, by beings who traveled to different planes like humans go to a shop for a snack: big, dangerous, and BIG. It had kingdoms controlled by libraries with citizens made from paper, empires on a never-ending quest to conquer everything in sight, sects with histories that are deep and concealed in mystery, and clans with old monsters that are overbearing and dominating. It is a plane inhabited by cultivators, beings that go against the heavens and transcend the earth in a struggle to achieve perfection and immortality. There are many legends in this plane: the Dragon God who has domain over every body of water and made the Dragon Palace a peak superpower unquestioned in all the waters, the Lone Sword Immortal who swung his sword for as many years as there are clouds in the sky before he broke the chains of mortality, shocking the world with his sword alone. Underground creatures devouring each other in an never ending cycle of carnage with the sole reason of creating a being that can devour everything else. Among these and many more legends and myths, one stands tall atop all of them. The Gu clan is known as a peak family that stands at the peak of this world. Each and every one of the clan members, of the main branch, is a heaven-blessed genius being an unmatched talent in their generation. In the past, the whole world banded together to eliminate the Gu clan, but they could only settle for a draw before both forces eliminated each other and the plane. The Gu family was content to be on top of the world and didn't bother with the other powers and their struggles. As for them everything else was beneath them and wasn't worth the time they could be spending cultivating and comprehending the Dao. They secluded themselves on top of the largest and most dangerous mountain range, only showing their faces when the world needed a reminder of their power.
Each and every member of the Gu clan is a monster unlike any other. That is the norm if one wants to stand atop for as long as the ancient clan has. There are many other families, clans. sects and organisations throughout the ages that have had members equal to the main Gu family in some aspect cultivation, be it swordplay, formations, body cultivation, or comprehending the great Dao. There have been heaven-chosen individuals who could go toe to toe with the monsters of the Gu family in order to prove to the world that they are supreme in their chosen. However, what made the these individuals so exceptional was that they would be born in the right clan with the right talents and would be nurtured wholeheartedly. Like the tyrannical Sword Immortal from the Shen family. He was said to be a once-in-an-era genius who was born with a perfect sword body, and each of his movements was in tune with the Dao of the Sword. One of his biggest claims to fame was that this tyrannical Sword Immortal was able to fight the then patriarch of the Gu clan to a standstill in a sword fight. What most people don't know, and peak powers treble when they remember was, when that same patriarch , after admitting that he could not beat Sword Immortal Shen with a sword, he then dropped his sword and with a simple looking punch destroyed the sword of the genius.
There are many speculations as to why the Gu clan are all heaven-sent fiends. The truth, as is often the case, is stranger than fiction.
In the main pavilion of the Gu clan, a secret ceremony was taking place. In the deepest parts of the vsat estate that could be a world on its own in front of a stone door which had the weight of ages long passed etched into every scrape, a burly man with a glare that would destroy empires and kill gods was sweating like he never had before in his long immortal life. A man who fist-fights primordials and destroys worlds with but a wave of his hands was carving paths in the ancient floorboards under him. He had short red hair made from the purest fire, with blue eyes made of sky jade. His name alone was enough to make armies turn and gods bow. Even with his heaven-shaking power, he felt like a weak mortal for the first time since he began his cultivation journey so long ago. He was creating a ripple in the fabric of space, it was like a heat mirage, bending space like melting snow inside a volcano.
There were three people sitting close by, each just a hair's breadth away from the phenomenon. One man, built like an ancient tree, stood tall and sturdy, as if even if the sky and earth fell into the void, he would still be standing gallant and upright. One woman was smoking a pipe, which smoke shrouded her curvaceous figure; the little that was seen was enough to make all the men in the world declare an eternal war for only one more look at her assets. Finally, an old, dirty, disheveled cripple with no right arm or left leg. He was drinking from a wine gourd like a mortal breathes oxygen. Still the other three didn't see to mind his lack of manner. If someone saw these four people together, they would die from sheer overstimulation. The tall man was the keeper of all the forests in the world, Immortal Mimameidr. The woman was the Gu family's secrets hall master, Gu Qihua. The man with red hair and green eyes was the father-to-be. He was once a simple mortal but with his own two hands paved his own path to the top, Jin Sung. As for the cripple, he was just known as Old Man Dog.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
As time passed, Mimameidr opened his ancient eyes and looked towards Jin Sung.
"Brother, if you don't want to go to a lower floor, I suggest you change the place that you are melting. I have to say, even for you to melt these wooden boards is most impressive." Mimameird looked down at the wooden boards, which were strong enough to survive a collapsing star, with nothing but a scratch melting under his brother-in-arms' pacing.
"Shut up, you slow-as-sap bush. If he falls down a couple hundred stories, he might just relax a bit." A raspy, inhuman voice came out of the smoke cloud. If you were to strain your ears, you might hear a chuckle.
Jin Sung stopped and looked at his sister-in-law. She never liked him because, in her own words, "A common carp may become a dragon, but his children will still be common carp."
Right before he could burst his pent up anger, Old Man Dog stood up on his last leg and looked at the stone door.
"It has begun."
All four looked at the door, using all their immeasurable powers to try to peer behind the stone door, but it was as if there was nothing behind it, which in some ways was true.
Behind the stone door, there was a small room with no decorations. The walls and ceiling were made from the same stone as the door. From the inside, it looked like all of it was one piece of stone with that was created in this shape. The floor, however, was an ever-changing tapestry of colour and images that would drive most beings in the universe into a catatonic state. It was as if the mysteries of creation were written down the moment they were conceived and put on display on this floor. The only thing in the room was a floating platform on which a woman was covered in sweat and struggling to stay awake.
Gu Cuixia was, even among the others of the Gu clan, a monster unlike any other. Her cultivation was fast, steady, and unprecedented. From birth, she broke almost every record in the history of the Gu clan. Gifted with perfect comprehension and the true Dao physique, her every breath since birth has been synchronized with the great Dao. Her luck is as vast as the heavens, so much so that if she were to pick a grain of sand in the desert, it would be a Dao treasure with immense value. Talented in each and every martial and spiritual art, there is nothing under the vast heavens that she hasn't mastered. Even so, her skills in formations are so unfathomable that in all of history, she is the only origin array master. If she were to claim that she is Heaven's second favorite, then anyone who claimed first would be struck down by a lightning tribulation. This person, loved by the world, was currently experiencing her first and only struggle: giving birth.
Gu Cuixia and Jin Sung had been struggling to conceive a child for many generations until one fateful day, the sky split open and golden-purple light shone over the whole world. Mortals and immortals alike scoured the eight directions to find the treasure, but Gu Cuixia knew that there was a life being nurtured in her since that inauspicious day. It was the happiest day for her, but it quickly turned into her first tribulation. For a child loved by the heavens, Gu Cuixia had never encountered any bottlenecks when cultivating. With her comprehension, she would need to read or listen to something only once before she would immediately understand, if not improve on it. Now, however, she felt that something wasn't right. The warm and comfortable feeling of the Dao that enveloped her since birth was slowly diminishing. She started to feel weaker and weaker with each passing day. In the beginning, she thought that it was due to the pregnancy, but after a while, she felt that her cultivation level started to drop. After informing the clan, they started to fill her with herbs and medicines, bringing doctors from all planes and studies just to come to the same conclusion: the fetus was draining her of all her energy. The clan immediately wanted to save Gu Cuixia by any means, but she stubbornly stood against everyone. The only people who supported her were the people outside the stone door. Still, as part of the Gu clan, she had to give birth in the sacred secret chamber that can be opened by a pregnant member of the main branch of the Gu family. As Gu Cuixia started to feel the weakest she had ever felt, she gave birth.
The baby was pale, small, and weak, looking like he would never take his first breath. With her last strength, Gu Cuixia activated the formation that made the Gu clan the strongest throughout the ages. The floor dimmed and went black. Small lights started to come out of the void and go inside the baby. His body started to become visibly healthier. With a sigh of relief, Gu Cuixia tried to stay awake until the phenomenon's end, but sleep was like an irresistible force that pulled her in, no matter how much she fought. For a moment she felt like a gentle hand was closing her eyes before she fell unconscious. The baby was slowly put in his mothers embrace as his turbid thoughts calmed like a lake after a storm, before he too fell asleep in his new body. Out of the void, a small lotus started to make its way towards the boy. It was a simple pink lotus with one bud in the middle, surrounded by two leaves which were in turn surrounded by four more, each a different rich color. If anyone present saw this lotus, they would know its origins, but they would doubt their own senses. This was the Heaven Origin Lotus, as the name suggests. It was the lotus from which the heavens and earth were born, and it was descending upon Alex. It went inside his body and condensed as a small slit in the middle of his forehead.
Behind the stone door, time stopped. The stone door opened just a bit before the the four cultivators rushed in like the devil was chasing them. All looked at Gu Cuixia's body, which started to pale at an alarming rate. As if her body was a vortex, sucking in everything around it, it started to shrink, and everyone could hear the sound of every bone snapping back into place. Her once golden aura turned red and black, and her breathing became labored.
Jin Sung had no time to waste. The first thing he did was summon every herb, treasure, and medicine that could help him save his wife. Mimameidr started to channel all the power of the forests of the world, trying to find a way to save her. Gu Qihua, started to plan the most drastic and dangerous solution, even if it meant her own demise. Old Man Dog stood there and observed everything, silently drinking from his wine gourd.
The floor of the room started to shake, and a beam of light as bright as a supernova appeared above Gu Cuixia's body. From the light, a figure appeared. The figure was tall and slender, with a dignified and regal aura. It had a head full of black hair, cascading down like a waterfall, and eyes as deep and vast as the cosmos. The figure reached out its hand and touched Gu Cuixia's forehead. She immediately stopped decaying and her glow returned although it was weaker then before. No one notice the small white rabbit with red eyes that came with the figure munching on some herbs making its was to the new born baby boy. As fast as the figure had come it left the four people that were on the peak of the world stunlocked.
