Chapter 1

In a city like many others, a young man was tossing and turning in bed trying to sleep. The upstairs neighboors had decided that five kids wasn't enough, so they were trying to go for lucky number six. Alex was surprised that they had enough energy to do this all night, seeing as they had to go into the elevator one by one. With a defeated sigh, he checked his phone. The piercing light illuminates his small studio suit, blinding him before he notices the time.

" Too late to sleep, I might as well check if anything has been updated."

With practice ease, he checks all his usual sites and apps looking for anything to distract him. Recently he has been fascinated by cultivation novels. Simple escapist fantasy where everything can be solved if you have the biggest fist around. Someone stopping you from sleeping ? Punch them until they are nothing but a memory. Someone yells at you for something you didn't do ? Slap their faces and see if they can see mount Tai now. Everything seems so trivial when you have enough power to cause natural disasters with a sneeze. Laying on his back, Alex drops his phone on his chest as he reaches towards the ceiling with his right hand and clenches a fist. With a low, almost scared voice he mumbles.

" If only it was me."

This is something he does almost every night. However, that night someone heard him and decided that they wanted to see what would happen if it was indeed him. So with a chester cat smile and a snap of their fingers. The supporting beam that was going to break tomorrow decided that the weight of it all was too much and broke in half. The good news was that the couple upstairs were perfectly fine. The bad news was that Alex might never eat pancakes again, out of solidarity, of course.

In a world only known to few immortals and accessible by ever fewer, a white rabbit with blood red eyes was munching on some green herbs. He wasn't the only one being there, as a man with long black hair was sitting in the lotus position on the bank of a calm lake. All around them were herbs, flowers, bushes and trees, each worth more than most mortal worlds. The man lifted his left hand and a small ripple went over the lake. The rabbit looked up from its herbs and with a tilt of its cute head it looked at its master. Before the cute furball could ask its question, a small and weak lotus flower started to come out of the man's sleeve. As if its question was already answered, the rabbit continued to chew its herbs. The only difference now was that the man had a small smile breaking his calm visage.
