Chapter 14

The kids woke up late because they slept late last night. Luckily for Roman, he didn't have school today and could sleep as much as he wanted.

When they got up, I was already saying goodbye. Penelope came over and kissed me on the cheek.

"Be careful on the road, honey."

My wife curled her lips. She seemed to have had a good time last night, her cheeks were flushed and she looked radiant.

Sophia said as she pulled her teddy bear and walked on all fours. I carried my sweet daughter and kissed her too. She giggled like a child and I set her down on her mother's arms. Penelope gently put her down so Sophia could play.

I smiled and shut the door.

"Now let's start this day with joy."

When I arrived at the company, I saw my co-workers chatting and laughing. Everyone was happy because they knew it was payday.

"Hey Keith, come join us later! We're going to have fun and drink all around!"

They laughed and I just shrugged my shoulders. I don't have to explain because I know they wouldn't believe me anyway.

At this point I should have checked my timetable and grabbed my taxi, but my feet were moving in the opposite direction. I reached the office and saw my manager, it seemed they were busy preparing for today.

After this, I will never come back to this company.

I don't have a problem, and this company has been good to me. But I decided to quit because I want to start my own business.

I entered the office and sat down in the chair in front of the desk. The manager looked at me and greeted me.
