It's been a day now since I came out of my shell. Not in a metaphorical sense but a literal one. At first I thought, there's no way this is real. I'm dreaming, yeah, that has to be it! I'm having a nightmare. Now all I have to do is wake up. I stared at a 3 meter tall shell with a hole with open "arms" as I awaited the reality to wake me up from this nightmare. And it happened! I woke up from my nightmare! After hearing a loud grumbling noise, I opened my eyes to an even worse nightmare.
Staring at me with three sets of red eyes. A scaly anaconda-komodo dragon looking monster. It's head towering me thrice my eye level. What the frick is this?! I thought to my shaking self. We both stared at each other for what felt like an eternity until it moved. With insane speeds it lunged its head at me. I surely thought I was dead as soon as I first saw him twitch a muscle, but somehow, slow? Why is it slow? I know and feel his movement to be insanely fast but in my eyes it's speed seemed slowed. I managed to dodge its attack by skipping to the side. The place where I was a not so few moments ago was decimated by the creature's attack. I stared dumbfounded and only then had I realized that my vision turned red. It looked like a blood filter overlayed on my eyes.
After standing there like a dofus the creature regained its composure a few seconds after its attack and stared at me with half of its eyes. Only then did I muster up enough composure to move. Run! I put my tail behind my legs and booked it. I run fast, faster than I ever did my entire life. It felt as though I wasn't in "my" body but instead in someone else's. Though I ran fast, the creature was faster and soon I heard the cracking of branches and thunderous footsteps.
Crap! Crap! Crap! What should I do!?! I inwardly screamed. I was running in a jungle away from a giant lizard. Things were happening so fast I wanted to cry. I cannot even remember what happened before this! No, I can't remember anything? A chill realization made the "hair" in my "body" stand up. But that metaphysical fear was quickly replaced by the fear of the raging monster that managed to catch up.
Instinctively I jumped to the side and narrowly avoided another lunge attack. Then I saw the entirety of the creature's body as it stopped after being dazed after its attack. It looked like a shorter neck version of a brachiosaurus dinosaur and its body looked like a mossy and spiky tortoise shell. I noticed its neck retracted back to its shell slightly. I took my eyes to the creature's head and saw it recovering from its daze.
With a panicked mind I contemplated on, what should I do? Should I fight? What can my flimsy hands—do…? Until I noticed my limbs. Dark violet, shiny, and what? What the hell is this? I observed my hands, no claws… Instead of four fingers and a thumb I had one thumb and three fingers, all of them have sharpened tips. I looked at my legs after that and saw the same texture. Dark violet with something chromatic finish like I'm covered with shell. My knees are backwards and I haven't noticed anything yet until now because everything felt natural.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
I was quickly reminded of reality as I saw the creature move again. I thought it would retract its neck to attack me with its snap bite move but it swung its head like a bio-mace. It was fast but because It was slow in my eyes I managed to dodge it. It wagged its head trying to hit me but I dodged it every time. I also noticed that my mental perception of speed was enhanced, that something fast seems slower though my body had a limit and also felt delayed. It felt disorientating at first but I quickly came over that feeling.
This dodge strategy won't work for long, I'm beginning to feel tired. But what should I do? I can't outrun it! Should I fight back? No, that's crazy! But… The creature retracted its head again. At this moment I had already familiarized myself with its attack. When in a life or death scenario, your head does wonders. And as I expected it again tried its neck lunge attack. I dodged and it went into a dazed state and like before its neck was exposed. Then suddenly I thought to myself, Maybe I have a chance. And with that, I raised my right arm and scratched its neck.
My claws made contact with its rubbery skin. At first I thought it would just bounce off but my claws ripped through the flesh and red liquid came out. It went through?! The creature instantly regained its composure after that. It raised its neck and stared at me, we went into a staring stance again. I could only imagine what was going on inside that creature's head. It is most likely surprised that a prey as small as me compared to its size who only ran had begun to fight back and injured him though only slightly.
It then raised its head in an attempt to crush me and though this new attack was faster I managed to dodge it as I predicted its a simple path of attack.
The earth rumbled as his head came crashing down. That attack put him in a dazed state again. And put itself into a vulnerable position. Without wasting a second I went close to its neck and began to scratch its neck like paper. I ripped its skin and managed to take a chunk of its flesh.
This pattern of dodge and attack went on for a few hours and when the sun was nearing its sleep. It happened. Finally… you son of gun… you finally…Fel—l And with a thud from the beast, I myself fell unconscious and went into a slumber.
I didn't notice it at first because I fell asleep but something appeared in front of me.
