And when I looked at the time real quick, I saw that it was around the time the apocalypse started last time so I stopped practicing, grabbed a backpack, put as much food and water in there as possible and hid until the apocalypse started.

When I heard the familiar sound of the gas station exploding and that same message repeating again, I knew the apocalypse had started. So I waited a bit, until I saw a singular huge mantis break down a wall and enter my house, searching for prey. Waited for just a little bit more until the mantis had his back towards mine and rushed out. Trying to kill it with a surprise attack, but sadly what can go wrong will go wrong, and the mantis turned around just before I could stab it in its head.

It immediately slashed its forearms towards me. And I barely managed to dodge its attack before it hit me, but because the mantis seemed to have put a bit too much strength in its attack, it almost stumbled which gave me the opening I needed to chop its head off.
