Jane fisher awoke with a start, her chest heaving up and down her eyes darting back and forth in a panic. Her panic did not go away, but instead changed as it went from a vampire is draining me of my blood panic to where in the world am I panic. Jane’s heaving chest slowed down as she looked around the room she found herself in. It was a rather sizable bedroom, a dark blue carpet on the floor and light blue walls. She was in a large bed with a blue comforter and sheets on it. There was a large wardrobe on the far wall and multiple different types of seating around the room, a couple of ottomans, a recliner, and one of those therapy loungers, whatever those are called. Jane looked down at herself and realized that these were not the clothes she had been wearing last she remembered. Jane was now dressed in a pale blue nightgown that looked like it came from an English period drama rather than any modern type of clothing.
There was a mirror on the side of the room, one of those standing mirrors that might have been seen in an old fashioned fashion shop. Jane got up and went to the mirror to see herself, as when one has had a traumatic experience one should check themselves over to make sure they are in good condition. Jane got over to the mirror and peered into it.
What is going on?
As Jane looked into the mirror she saw nothing but the room around her. She tried moving around and waving in front of the mirror but there was not even a ripple of light on the shiny reflective surface.
“Where am I? Why am I not showing up in the mirror?”
Jane turned back to the bed and saw her phone on the bedside table. She rushed over to it and pulled up the camera app. There she was, her normal looking face, her normal looking hair, her normal looking teeth- wait what was up with her teeth.
Jane looked closer at her image in the camera app, and pulled back her lips into that kind of smile one does when they look for plaque in their teeth. A gasp escaped Jane’s mouth and she almost dropped her phone. There amongst her pearly whites were two very sharp fangs.
“No no no, this can’t be happening” Jane said as she started pacing around the room.
“I can’t be a vampire, vampires aren’t real”
“Clearly they are real Jane, one sucked the blood out of you last night and now you have fangs” Jane said back to herself.
“But, how can vampires be real? Aren’t they just supposed to be in books and movies?”
“How would I know? But the real question is what are we going to do about it?”

“Right, a plan, we need to do something.”
“Let's make steps. What is step one?”
“Step one, call for help, step two is to figure out where we are and get out of here.”
“Sounds like you have a path forward real me”
“Yes, thank you imaginary me. You are always a calming presence”
There was no response from imaginary Jane. Jane hurried back over to where she had left her phone on the bed and dialed the number for the police.
“What! No Signal?!”
Jane checked the phone over. This sim card was missing
“Crape! What Should I do now?”
Looking around the room Jane did not see any windows and two doors one of which was opened to a rather lavish bathroom. The other must go out of the room. Jane walked over to it and tried to look beyond it without opening the door. Jane tried to look through the keyhole but saw only a blurry whitish blue color, and looking under the door did not do any better. She pressed her ear to the door but could not hear anything. Slowly Jane twisted the knob, finding it unlocked, and opened the door.
Outside the door was a hallway with light blue walls and a carpeted floor. The hallway extended to Jane’s left and right. Looking down the sides Jane could see several more doors on either side of the hallway. At the end of each side of the hallway it turned the corner heading to some unknown part of the house Jane found herself in. Leaving the door open behind her she started heading down the right side of the hallway all skyrim stealth style. At the end of the hall was another hallway leading to what looked like another hallway. Jane kept following the hallways curious as to why things were so empty at, she checked her phone, seven o’clock in the evening. After about ten minutes of wandering empty hallways Jane began to let her guard down and walk normally. After thirty minutes of walking Jane was bored, she had tried a couple of doors during her walk but they had all been locked. Finally after what seemed like forever the hallway ended in a plain wooden door. There was nothing especially that made the door stand out other than the fact that it was at the end of the hallway rather than the sides. Jane crept up to the door and pressed an ear to it. On the other side she could hear the soft thuds of many feet moving, The swish swish of what may have been a broom of some kind, and even what sounded like a vacuum cleaner.
What is this place?
Quietly, slowly Jane eased the door open and peered out into the room beyond. The view beyond was just as she imagined, many people were going around cleaning a large room full of chairs, couches, tables and many other pieces of furniture. No one had seen her open the door and she pulled back inside the hallway and tried to calm her nerves and keep her breathing quiet. Jane peered back into the room, nothing had changed. She looked back and forth trying to find a moment when most of the eyes were looking away from the door which she hid behind.
After a few minutes Jane believed she had found her moment and stepped out of the door and into the room beyond. Keeping her head down to avoid making eye contact with anyone she made her way to the far side of the room where she had seen another door. When Jane was halfway across the room the whole room fell silent. The footsteps had stopped, the swish swish of the brooms had ceased, and the vacuum cleaner had been turned off. Jane stopped in fear and slowly raised her head to look around her.
I’ve been seen, they are going to catch me, put me in chains and kill me or do other horrible things to me.
Contrary to what Jane thought would happen, when she looked up and glanced around at the other people, they were not trying to capture her or keep her from leaving. Instead all of them were bowing towards her. Now this was not a full by the waist bow, but it was an inclination of the head and upper body in a bow that seemed to indicate reverence and submission.
Jane looked around confused. All the people around her did not move from their bowing position. After about a minute of both parties just standing there awkwardly Jane hurried forward and went through the door that she had been heading to. Getting to the otherside of the door Jane turned around and looked back into the large room she had just vacated. The servants had gone back to their business of cleaning up the area. Jane slowly and quietly closed the door. She let out a sigh and leaned against the door, finally relieved to be away from people. Turning around, Jane froze. There in the room staring back at her were six pairs of dark blue eyes.
