[Dragons get immortality, and we get to not smell bad? W-what kind of divine boon is this? Isn't this the opposite of a cheat? Didn't the difficulty just get raised? That capricious brat... She gets taunted a bit and we end up with a crappy boon? With a mind like that... Back then, she didn't miss my butt did she... She hit right on her target didn't she?! AAAAH! I could have lived forever!]
"L-lord! It's actually not that bad!" said Berg panicky.
"Really?" Chris, still on all four, turned his head with half dead eyes toward Berg.
"Most of the other races have good senses, especially when it comes to smell. It easier for us to hide and plan traps. It makes hunting a lot easier for us too. All we have to worry about are sight and sounds."
Chris slowly stood up, wiped himself, and turned his half-dead eyes towards Berg : "Then what would you choose? Immortality or not smelling bad?
For now it's fine but what about during battles? Would you rather your army had a tough body or smelled good?"
"..." Berg didn't know what to say.
"Nevermind, let's forget our boon, what's our Divine Gift?" continued Chris.
"Actually... I don't know either, no king has ever used it. We begged our last king to use it in the war against the Kunalls, but he said it was not useful during battles. I... I got the feeling he didn't want to talk about it, perhaps he wanted to keep it a secret for later?"
[Keep it a secret? Why would he want to hold it back in that situation? It was all or nothing!] Thought Chris. [He didn't want to talk about it, because it's surely an embarrassingly useless power!]
"Haaa... So how do I use it?"Asked Chris.
"To use it, you need to be a crowned king, for this we must go back to the old capital for the ceremony." said Berg.
"Very well, this will have to wait." Chris didn't have much hope for that power anyways, after all... It was a gift from that capricious god.
After this exchange he felt very tired. No good came from that god. He had to remember that.
Berg noticed his exhaustion so he brought him some tea and they sat down to watch the soldiers train for a while. The bowl in his hand seemed clumsily made. [This must have been made by one of the kids.] He thought with a little sad smile on his face, as he remembered the children's usual work was to make simple craft items.

He then turned his attention to those soldiers. They were part of the defence force for the village. They would not participate in the battle and would remain at Five Cave Village to protect it. They had some light armor, a sword, and some even had shields but they were rare.
"Oh. They are repeating the same movement over and over?" Said Chris to Berg.
"You noticed Lord! This is the Monkai method, taught to our ancestors by our god! It is a chain of moves that will unlock your limits when practiced enough!" The pride in Berg's eyes was easily noticeable.
But Chris couldn't help worry...Her again... She is everywhere.
[Hmm so that's how it goes... two strikes up, two down, left, right, left, r...]
PFFFFT!
Chris almost chocked on his tea and shouted "Monkai method my ass ! That's the freaking Konami code!"
"My Lord? Are you alright? What's that code thing?"
"Nevermind, nevermind, I can't let that god get to me everytime!" That was when Chris noticed Titus come back from his 'hunt'. "Let's go." [How does she even know about that?]
"Lord! Quest accomplished!"Shouted Titus proudly.
Chris noticed that the nets they had left with were now filled with huge bugs and tied at the end of a stick to keep the bugs away from their bodies. The bugs were at least 20 cm long.
"So those are the most poisonous creatures around?" He looked curiously at the nets. He expected Titus and his soldiers to come back with snakes.
"Yes, Lord! Those are the Red Hornets, also called the Bleeding Hornets. They are not the most poisonous in the valley, but there are none more potent in a few hours range. They also meet all your criterias! The poison does not need processing, it can be harvested quickly in big quantities, it's effects are fast... And it works on Kunalls!" Said Titus.
"Great! Great! Finally some good news! Explain the poison's effect and the harvesting method!"
"Yes, Lord! The poison has two effects, first it has a slight paralysis effect, it might not have an impact on Kunalls, unless the poison is applied in huge quantities. The Red Hornets use that effect to calm their prey down while they are stinging it. The second is a blood hemorrhaging effect, this one will work for sure on the Kunalls. After stinging their prey, the Red Hornets insert their larvae into the bodies and the wounds are left to bleed. The larvae will hatch a few days later and will feast on the dead carcass just long enough for their wings to grow." Explained Titus. "The harvesting method is simple, the poison is stored in the bottom part of their bodies, right were you see that huge stinger. The easiest way is to simply smash the Red Hornet and let the poison flow. Their stinger are very strong, so we can even use them as arrowheads, they will inflict deep wounds on the Kunalls!"
Chris' eyes shined. "Perfect, with this another part of our plan is ready! Berg, let's divide and distribute the members of the arrowheads making squad into the arrow shaft making squad and assembling squad. With those stingers we should have enough arrow heads for the fight. We need 150 more arrows, when they are done let's send them to help the gathering squad in the forest!"
"Yes my Lord!" Berg received his orders and left.
"Titus, check on your scout and make sure everything is in order. We need to be alerted right when the scout party leaves the Kunall camp!"
"Yes my Lord!" Titus also left after getting his orders.
[The hunters are training and should be ready soon, the arrows should be done by tomorrow, the poison is in our hands. We might be ready a little sooner than expected. Should I use that time to prepare something a little nasty?] Chris was musing, now that he decided to just not think of that little god, his mood got better.
[After this battle, there is no going back, at best I have three weeks before the Kunalls reacts. Three weeks to start a kingdom, this is going to be tough. Luckily I am standing on the shoulders of giants. Figuratively of course! Haha! Let's go to work!]
