Prologue
In high school, he was well liked by everyone despite his sometimes distasteful humor. Jason always had a response, and he thought out what he did. He worked out and got a job at a fast food place. His plan was to go to college, meet new friends, and figure himself out. His parents worried about him, but ultimately they felt his life was best in his own hands. It would be wrong to say that he actually had no idea what he wanted to do, but it would be correct to say that he needed better guidance.
After he graduated high school, he moved out with some friends to another state. They went to college together and made some friends. He made bad choices and ended up alone. He never gave up his truest love. Organizing everything to work well. In his last year of college, everything changed.

In an instant 85% of humanity was killed by rifts opening and utterly destroying most of the world. The world that remained was spread out, and the new space from the destruction was replaced with wildlands filled with great dangers. Monsters of unimaginable strength and number fight over the lands. Some of the lesser monsters made their move on the remaining lands of Earth.
Humanity was not left defenseless. They were each given new powers based on their lives before, and another force took pity on humanity, giving them guidance in the new world.
