As I get up I looked around. Am I dreaming? What is this place? Why am I so aware? I am so very… alive. I am… aware. Where am I? This place… the ground is black, solid black. In all directions… a plane of darkness. The sky is dark blue. What happened to me? My memories are fuzzy… was I supposed to do something? Was I fighting someone? Yes… no… I was fighting, but something, not someone. Where am I?

My voice reverberates around me, filling everything. It loudens, and I fall to my hands and knees, and cough up some blood. What is my Status?

“Did I… die?”

“What happened to my world?”

“A shadow shrouded it. Not deliberate. No one’s fault really, no one could have predicted it would reach your world.”

“What is the system?”

“An ancient power controlled by an unimaginable force. It seeks to protect worlds, and the people within them. It is the only reason you still live.”

“Interesting…”

My body begins to glow, and fade. I reached out.

“No… I have more questions…”

“I am sorry, but our time has come to an end. It is not likely we shall meet again. Goodbye. I will miss the company. I gift you some of my power, and in exchange I will watch you. Read it when you return.”
