ASURA AND MAJIN
“An interesting man will always be interesting.” Alvarich picked up Theo’s body and licked his face. “Why are you here, at the boar’s welcome of all places?”
Alvarich dragged Theo’s body to a nearby house that he knew to be empty right now. He stripped Theo and laid him on a wooden table. Theo got closer to the house with his clone and kept watch on the situation with the sensing earring. As much as he tried to move and do something meaningful, his body inside the house only grumbled and squirmed.
“Don’t even try resisting cutie.” Alvarich lit up some candles. “Do you like my parfum?” Alvarich swirled his hand in the air with a pointed finger. “It helps me ease my guests into our night activities.” Alvarich skimmed his hands from Theo’s toes to his neck, “It keeps them from struggling… mingles well with barrels upon barrels of alcohol,” and grabbed a candle. “Do you like the mood?” Alvarich lowered his vision onto Theo’s body, “I can see you don’t” and shoved the hot wax candle on Theo’s belly while screaming to his face. “What about you tell me why you were hunting me!”
Theo only felt a searing pain. It traveled all the way to his back. However, that allowed him to assume control again, brutally sobering him up. He tried to headbutt Alvarich and finish him with a mana explosion inside his head, but Alvarich dodged too fast.
“That’s more like it.” Alvarich licked his lips and cracked his neck. “Why are you still alive? I would-” He started saying, but Theo didn’t stop, hurling himself into Alvarich, trying to finish everything in one go. Alvarich gave a shrill scream and started blasting wind blades everywhere. “Don’t, don’t, don’t. Don’t interrupt me!” He screamed once again.
There was nowhere to dodge, so the most Theo could do was hide behind objects and dampen the wind blades strength with a mana barrier. Alvarich closed the gap quickly and grabbed Theo’s face with both his hands. “I never, never, forget a man’s body. Why are you still alive.” He cocked his head. “I killed you-”
Theo blasted him away with a punch, which provoked a shrill scream from Alvarich. “You! You!” Alvarich kept charging towards Theo, and hurling wind blades at him. Theo dodged what he could, but the damage was piling up clearly, as his body bled away. Fighting in close quarters gave him an advantage against someone with wind control like Alvarich, he hoped the house would last long enough.

Every dodge and attack was calculated by Theo as he dragged the ferocious beast into position. As Theo got thrown to the window and knocked headfirst, Alvarich jumped in for the kill with a crazed face. However, as soon as he perforated Theo’s heart, the alarms inside his head went off. He had already committed such a mistake of thinking Theo was dead in the past. Even so, it was too late to dodge. A hand empowered by mana broke the window from the outside and grabbed Alvarich’s head, exploding its insides with a mana blast.
Theo, however, didn’t feel as much resistance and quickly jumped inside the house, just as a myriad of wind blades assaulted the place he was by the window just before.
From the window, Alvarich appeared once again, with a bleeding face with eyes wide open. “A clone, obviously.” He licked his lips, “But did you expect to be the only one able to come back from the dead?” and sat by the window, enjoying the scene. “A special artifact: wind’s recall. Isn’t it useful?” He got into the house and slowly walked to Theo. “I love the desperate face you are making… Isn’t it awful to have your plans foiled?” Alvarich started laughing maniacally and used every ounce of power he had to cut Theo into pieces, conjuring a veritable wind tornado.
What he didn’t expect, however, was that Theo would throw himself onto him, sacrificing his body to get close. The wind tornado was weaker the closer it got to the origin. Even so, Theo’s body was barely glued onto itself using mana as he latched himself onto Alvarich.
“Stay away from me!” Alvarich screamed as Theo grabbed him. He had already witnessed the weird blasting power Theo had at close quarters and had no way to defend against it.
That final struggle turned Theo into minced meat. However, that was enough delay and distraction for Theo to appear from behind.
The last thing Alvarich felt was a hand on his back, which prompted him to empty everything he had left into a blind attack on his surroundings. That, however, didn’t help. Conjuring wind’s call had taken a huge toll on him, and soon his whole world turned black.
After blasting Alvarich’s insides, Theo quickly hurled himself out of the house, just before it was leveled down by Alvarich’s wind power. I bet you also didn’t expect I was paranoid enough to use two clones instead of only one. Today was a close call, he didn’t think that the two clones would be needed. Theo set off his explosion ritual on the house and watched everything burn into ashes. Just to be sure. His scans didn’t return any consciousness left on the debris, so he left out a sigh, relieved. Even if his face had been completely changed, Alvarich had somehow recognized him by his body. It wouldn’t do having someone so dangerous still alive.
Theo’s new improved blessings came in handy today. He could now use four rituals at once and store four ritual types. He used two clones, a face change, and a fire blast just to be sure. Everything went according to plan, but he felt it was much more dangerous than needed. Theo didn’t expect Alvarich to have such a powerful item, and pondered where he got it. This time, Alvarich managed to make him use every card he had to win. He needed to get stronger.
