Arthur Lancaster’s Perspective
Glaring at my child’s futile efforts to achieve victory in this battle was quite interesting and at least showed me had courage and determination; as long as he isn’t that abomination, I can allow him to bare the ‘ Lancaster ‘ surname with pride. The fight between them is going quite well although the major gap in experience and skill; I have to blame the ‘Stats’ and ‘Level’ difference because, of their age gap. Maybe, if they were the same age and had been training for the same amount of time maybe, my child would have been able to overcome this obstacle but, if he ever asks to become an Adventurer, I will just say that he has to beat Ben in a spar before he can leave. I snicker to myself but, I knew full well that he would be able to beat him with a little more training and refining of his skills.
… The fight continued for a good hour with Daren using tactics and various alternatives to come out less scathed than normally. This shows great promise and the capability of becoming something great; treasuring this information to contemplate on his future training. I continued to standby silently, glaring at my child’s struggles and endeavors to become the victor in the battle; noticing that his movements were progressively becoming more distinctive and refined as the battle continued; I contemplated and thought of the best training method, which would be through Combat Experience on Weaker Monsters. It would help boost his level and overall increasing his stats. I turn my attention to James whose mouth was open in surprise and awe most likely not in his son’s capability but, my own due to his small age. My lips curled upwards in pride and I turn my attention back to the fight.
The fight was finally coming to an end and I decided that I would go attend to my son but, something shocking happened which made me tilt my head in an inquisitive manner, shocked and surprised. Through sheer Willpower and Determination to win the battle, my child broke through his own body’s limitation and was about to continue fighting. In what might seem to a blur to everyone in my vicinity, I moved with great precision, acceleration and velocity towards my son’s side. Touching his shoulder gently, I inform him that everything was alright and he made me proud. Although, I have even greater expectations for him but, this was just perfect for the beginning; telling him must have brought him relief because, all the determination and willpower that was oozing out of his persona disappeared nearly instantaneously and he was about to drop on the floor – if it wasn’t for me grabbing his abdomen to keep him up. Once, I had done that and declared that the sparring was finally over; Ben dropped to one knee and was panting heavily; I then glare at him, narrowing my eyes to analyse his facial expression and body language more carefully and notice that he is hyperventilating and sweating heavily. All that from someone who is younger than you, less developed than you in ‘Stats’ and ‘Level’. I shake my head in disappointment at Ben and turn my attention back to James, who was currently approaching the child that fell onto one knee.
I nod my head towards them and announce the winner of the match: “ Well done. This sparring session is now concluded with Ben as the Winner and Daren Lancaster as the loser… I’m quite impressed by your son’s movements, James. It seems that my son has a long way to go. “ my tone retaining its masculinity and seriousness; although it may seem that I lied about being impressed but, truly I was. I’m just ashamed it took so much out of him to cope with my son’s efforts.
Proudly, I carried my son on my shoulder as I see James and Ben off to their home within the settlement. I begin returning to my own home getting mentally prepared for another handful of scolding and shouting from my wife.
Annabelle Lancaster’s Perspective
My husband and child have now returned from ‘training’ although, I think Arthur is being too harsh on Daren and should relax on the amount and difficulty of the training because, he is still young and has a lot of time to train. I’m currently cooking dinner for the family because, they return around evening time from their training and I want to make sure Daren fills his stomach until he cannot eat; mother’s special treatment and I chuckle at the thought, smiling gleefully at the thought of my child being happy and enjoying the food so, I put more effort and time cooking the food.
In my past days, I was an adventurer with my husband and several of our friends and it was an unforgettable time which is one of my most treasured memories because of the massive amount of fun we had exploring the continent and fighting together. I remember exactly how I unlocked my deviant magic for Healing and it was during one of my most bitter and painful memories. My village was attacked by a horde of several monsters and my mother tried very hard to protect me, killing herself in the process; I screamed and cried for several hours, I thought it was impossible nor did I want to believe that she could die, I tried doing basic first aid through applying bandages and trying to keep her heart going until, I felt a heavy tug coming from my mana pool and I got a notification saying that I’ve unlocked healing magic. Unfortunately, I wasn’t capable of saving my mother, traumatizing myself in the process and I promised myself that I would never allow anyone who is close to me die, although elusive it was still something and that’s where I began my journey to become a Legendary Healer.
I hear the door open and this brings me back from my daydreaming; I see my husband with a smirk on his face and my child sleeping in his arms; shocked and surprised at the repetition from the previous day, I ran towards them offering to help; he shook his head and went upstairs. I follow and saw Arthur putting Daren into bed and kissing his forehead. I hold the door, leaning on it whilst smiling gently and watching the ‘ Father and Son Moment‘; he then got up from the chair after watching Daren for extensive amount of time, then nodded at me and went downstairs, I followed him and ate dinner after, putting Daren’s food away for when he wakes up.
“ Why are you going so tough on him ? He is only a child and has a long time to become strong “ my tone inquisitively and light; I was curious and wanted to know.
“ Remember that I’m not here most of the time; I want to build a thick and strong foundation that he can build off on. One day, me and you will not be here for him; I can guarantee that. “ his tone much heavier and more serious than usual; with a stern expression on his face. It kind of scared me but, I decided to ask no more question and we continued to eat our meal discussing his training regimen and what he was going to do from now on…
“ You want him to fight against monsters already! “ I knew I was overthinking and worrying for nothing but, he is my child. The only child left and I love him with all my heart; I just can’t standby when my husband wants to march him to his death.

“ Annabelle… He is more amazing than you think; I thought that it would be a one-sided battle although, I expected for him to win even with the little resources and abilities he possess but, he was able to utilize strategies that only trained veterans would think of in the midst of combat. Remember your place and not to question what I do“ the atmosphere was tense and his voice didn’t help it any more than that albeit, he was a bit consoling.
I exhale heavily; looking down at my plate and began to shake my head. Glaring back up at him with a sorrowful and worried facial expression; I said quietly and gently: “ Honey… I don’t want to lose him; you even sent… “ He cut in with a mighty roar; slamming his fist on the table which made my eyes widen and my body cower in fear, as massive anger and killing intent was oozing out of his being,
“ Do not ever. Mention his name in this house or to Daren; what I say goes and this conversation is now over; I’m leaving for now. “ he stood up and then walked away. Tears began to stream down my eyes, as I try to weep silently as physically possible before, I hear something moving around upstairs; I move my hands as fast as possible to cover my eyes in an attempt to wipe them….
???’s Perspective
Far away in the land of the Sylphs, south of the continent and deep within the forests; I rest and train in the forests, despised and hunted by the sylphs such as Elves and Fairies for my ‘crimes’; such as hunting and destroying the forest; I don’t care though. Hunt me and be killed. Follow me and be killed. Approach me and be killed. I do have exceptions and I’m not a mass murderer but, they are very few.
Luxuriant, sleek obsidian-black hair that reaches my shoulders; a chiseled, thin face with an unlined, pale complexion, the definition of masculinity and good-looks. Through the grey coat that covers my mouth, nothing else can be seen below my nose; narrow, hazel-brown eyes that possess a sharp and cold glare; on his back a katana sheathe horizontally placed on his waist coloured in royal-purple with a purple hilt.
Hiding silently in the vast bushes inside the forest, as he observed and watched his prey; a bear covered in thick, fuzzy brown fur, it prowled around looking for smaller prey to feed on. It prowled with a sense of dignity and pride on its four-paws, noticing a small squirrel like animal it began to accelerate its pace until, turning into a sprint in order to catch its prey; the squirrel noticing the presence of the larger animal decided to drop what it was holding and run-away in an attempt to escape but, it failed in the end and was caught by the bear.
My natural instinct made my body twitch, informing me that it was time for me to strike whilst it was distracted; I unsheathed my katana silently, clutching the hilt tightly so the blade was facing my shoulder. I brought the blade close to my face using my left-hand to propel myself forward, rotating my body with relentless force making me spin in a circular motion; the bear aware of his attacker turned his attention but, it was already too late. The blade swiftly and cleanly decapitated the bear as blood started spraying upwards and its head dropped to the side. Grabbing the head of the bear with my left-hand, I glared into the eyes of the bear – which was lifeless and I smirked sadistically muttering: “ … You’re my prey like that squirrel was yours. Don’t be so weak in the next life. “ my tone cold and serious.
Sheathing the katana back into its respective sheathe; I exhaled heavily and glanced at my ring. “Identify”
