CHAPTER 4

1 and a half years before the accident.

Harrison was sitting outside the soccer court, watching his colleagues play sports while he did some calculations and tested theories in his notebook.

Without him noticing, three bullies approached and took out Harrison's notebook. He stood up and looked at them before speaking.

"Give it back to me!"

"Oh, and what are you gonna do if I don't give it back? You have no power for anything here Harrison. "

"Yeah, do you really think you can face the three of us? Only in your dreams."

The boy with the notebook started to go through each page of the notebook and after a while, he laughed. "What is this, Harrison, are you pretending to calculate random things? You should accept that you will never be someone important, do you think that by doing some calculations will be the new Tony Stark or something? If you're so good, why not create a particle accelerator or a time machine? Hahaha, so you can correct that flaw that was your birth! " He threw the notebook on the floor and after stepping on it several times he left, Harrison could only watch with clenched fists.

"Humph! Asshole, I'm going to show you how superior I am in the future. "

Several meters away, a man wearing an overcoat looked at this scene with a smile on his face, when the three boys approached him, he gave 100 dollars to each and disappeared as if he was never there to start, the boys just looked scared for a moment before running and going back to the rest of the room on the soccer court.

....

"Doctor, we detect brain activity, I believe the patient is about to wake up." The nurse said to the man in a lab coat in his office.

"Okay, come on. Prepare a phone, if he wakes up we have to call his mother to come and see him. "

After a while they both entered a room, there were some benches and a bed with a patient, he looked disoriented and tired.

"Hi, you don't know me, but I'm your doctor, are you feeling any discomfort or something?" The doctor asked.

"No..."

"Can you remember who you are?"

"I... I am... I am Harrison Wells."

"Okay, I need to do some more exams, young Wells, don't worry, none of them will hurt, your mom is already coming, so she'll be here soon."

Harrison nodded and I followed the doctor's instructions, who asked some questions like, "how many fingers are here" or "follow the light with your eyes", this went on for more than half an hour.

Suddenly Harrison felt a wave of weakness wash over him and his stomach started to rumble.

"If it's not a problem, can you get me something to eat?"

"Oh, of course, I'll leave you to rest and the nurse will take care of this for you." The doctor patted him on the back and left.

It didn't take long for Harrison to devour a whole pile of food, he felt like he was hungry for 3 people at the same time.

Soon his mother arrived, seeing him eating so excitedly, made her smile and wipe the tears from her face. She ran up to him and hugged him before saying. "Ah, my son, please never do something so dangerous again, you could have died, you know!?"

Harrison sighed and answered.

"I know mom, I promise I won't do anything like that, at least until I have the resources to hire a team and buy the best materials."

She shook her head and sat on the bed.

"You spent two months in a coma, that friend of yours visits you every week, she thinks it's her fault that something went wrong, you should call her when you can." She stopped to stroke Harrison's hair.

"Harrison, the doctors said you had more than 10 cardiac arrests in those two months, it's a miracle you're alive, they couldn't even measure your heart rate, they had to monitor your brain activity to make sure you were alive... Now tell me, what happened? When the police and firefighters arrived, they only found you under the rubble of the shed. "

"I was testing my particle accelerator, then two men appeared, then the lightning... I don't know..."

"Okay, you don't have to try too hard, they'll let you out later, I'll take you home."

A few days later, Harrison looked at the entrance of the school and sighed, he woke up from the accident a few days after the end of the summer vacation, in that time he didn't have time to see Martha again, because of that they just talked over the internet.

As soon as he arrived everyone in the room stopped for a moment and started watching him, somehow everyone knew that he fell into a coma for two months, even though only his mother and Martha knew what had happened. He sat in his usual place and reclined in his chair, his mind started to wander as he looked at the ceiling, he was listening to the voice of his colleagues for a while but soon sound of the place just disappeared. Curious he turned to the side wanting to understand what was going on and could hardly believe what he saw.

Everyone was still... No, they were so slow that in Harrison's perspective it was as if they were still, he couldn't help but think about the strange tingling sensation that went through his whole body and the sensation of a kind of energy that it reminded him of an electric current but that sensation seemed very pleasant.

Soon afterward everything went back to normal making him frown, Harrison could imagine what were the effects of what had happened to him after the particle accelerator failed, but he still wasn't sure if what he acquired was the acceleration force, as far as he knew there was also a possibility that a mutant speedster gene had been activated, he would have to do some tests first. Some things also made him feel strange, like why did it take so long for the effects of the accident to appear? Were other people affected as well? Will the bald man from the mutants' mansion detect him?

It is difficult to know if the concept of mutant and meta-human is similar enough for the Cerebro to detect it, as far as he knew at least, the Hulk was not considered a mutant since his powers did not originate from genes but an accident with gamma radiation.

At that moment Martha entered the room and sat down next to him.

"Good morning Harrison. How are you?"

"Considering everything?" he sighed. "Yes, better impossible."

She watched him with a guilty expression on her face.

"I'm sorry Harrison ... If I had been there maybe it wouldn't have happened..."

He just shrugged and said.

"Don't think too much about that, I was the one who did a mistake, so I need to deal with it on my own."

She nodded and took the notebook from her backpack to prepare for class. The rest of the day was relatively calm, aside from the fact that he had a few more involuntary 'spikes' of speed, but he was almost getting the hang of it, the next step was to find out if he could run too.

After class ended he said goodbye to Martha and after walking for a few blocks he stopped and entered an empty alley. He gulped and closed his eyes, after concentrating for a few seconds, he felt the tingling spreading through his body and soon afterward the sensation of the electric current, opening his eyes he could see that everything was in slow motion, sucking a breath of air he started with short steps and slowly increased his speed.

Soon he started to cross between cars and people at high speed, for him it was as if the world had been in slow motion while he was at his normal pace, it was amazing how he could feel the sensation of the wind passing through his body. and being deflected by a type of invisible barrier that formed when he ran.

The sensation was so addictive and fun it was like this was a new world that he could never observe before, yet he didn't know what his speed limit was, for example, he didn't want to risk time travel or break up by hitting a wall unintentionally. After running to his house he "deactivated" his super-speed and sighed, he was about to enter but as soon as he touched the handle he felt his stomach growling and a terrible headache.

Now he knew how Barry Allen felt.

His next step before anything was to get money and other resources to be able to create some useful tools, not to mention that he would need a suit to run, he didn't realize it at first but when he got home he found that the soles of his sneakers had almost become coal.

After spending time reading his notes and thinking about methods of making money with a certain level of ease, he decided to do two things, sell one of his old projects, a bionic prosthesis that can be used on people who have lost a limb, his luck was that this technology was already widespread in his past life, and with the knowledge, he had from that time he only needed to study a few things to be able to replicate it, although with his new skill he could study at such a high speed that it would be possible to improve it, but he would leave that for the day he had his own company after all he could profit more that way.

As for the other thing that he intended to do was to use his super-speed to learn how to develop games and develop any game from his original world, even though it was 2008 they already had a console comparable to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 thanks to the Stark industries but despite that, they had almost none of the games he knew, it would be easy to create something capable of giving him a few million dollars, like the Call Of Duty series or God Of War.
