CHAPTER 3

"Okay, I think that all these months saving on my allowance should serv for something. With luck, I can bargain the price of the components. "

"You're quite excited about this, aren't you? If I didn't know you, I would say you have a smile on that cold face of yours, hahaha! "

Harrison's lips trembled when he heard Martha's answer, but she was right, it was not a common occurrence the moments he smiled, the last time was before his father in this life died on a mission in the Middle East.

Sighing, he put his thoughts aside and went into the store, in the end, he spent more than $ 300 to buy all the necessary equipment and materials, it was not so expensive, considering what he intended to create.

"Did you find a place for us to make the accelerator?"

"Yes, my dad has a big shed that he hasn't used in Greenwich Village for a few years, I asked him to give me the keys, I made a copy for you." She took a key out of her pocket and tossed it to Harrison.

"Thanks, let's go then, the sooner we finish, the sooner we can test it."

They were about to leave, but before they could, Martha's cell phone started ringing, after talking on the cell phone for a while she turned to Harrison a little sad and said.

"Harrison, I'm sorry, but I won't be able to go with you, Osborn put my dad on a new project, but for that, we're going to have to stay out of town for a few weeks ..."

"It's okay, we can chat on the internet, I'll see you later then."

She nodded and after giving him the address of the shed they separated.

Harrison walked most of the way on foot. More than half an hour after he separated from Martha, one thing caught his eye, he still wasn't sure so he decided to follow the two people he saw closely to confirm his suspicions.

A few meters away from him, a girl with black hair and another girl with blond hair walked in a carefree way, the reason he was following them? Well, the black-haired girl was a classmate of his, and she had a somewhat known name. Her name is Jessica Jones.

He did not plan to get involved with her, but it would be interesting to know if she already had powers like super strength and the ability to fly.

And it didn't take long to confirm his suspicions, at some point a miscreant stopped them and tried to steal their money, Jones just laughed and made a cliché joke like "Did you really choose to rob us? So many people and you just happened to choose us? ", After that, she simply lifted the man and threw him over 10 meters into an alley and left with her sister.

Seeing this scene Harrison gulped and made a mental note to never cross her path.

...

Inside a shed.

Harrison was sitting on a bench facing a desk, he had already started building his particle accelerator, but he stopped after he found a very strange newspaper ripped into pieces in a drawer.

After putting the pieces together he was extremely concerned. This world or the people in it were not exactly what he expected, although many details point to this being a Marvel universe, what he read in the paper made no sense based on this logic.

Stolen story; please report.

The title of the article basically said, "Tragedy in Gotham City, Justice League disappeared.", Below it was the name of the journalist who wrote it and the date, "Lois Lane, 2016.". The story itself was impossible to read because someone seems to have tried to burn the newspaper.

'This must be a joke, right? The one above all must have planned this, right, there is no way for someone to travel dimensions and leave this newspaper here just like that, right? Besides, whoever it is, left it here where I could find it, one of the few beings in the entire existence of this universe who knows a lot about both universes, now the question is who brought it here, is it from this universe or the other ... 'Sighing he threw the newspaper on the floor and punched the table.

Harrison hated that feeling of being a piece on someone's chessboard, at that moment he didn't even know if he should finish his particle accelerator or even stay there.

After a while, he picked up the newspaper and decided to keep it in a small plastic pot, at the moment he did not have the necessary resources, but perhaps in the future, he could collect some evidence of it and use it to identify any other people who had access to it.

"I better get back to work, it won't be a newspaper and speculation that will stop me."

...

A week later.

Harrison wiped the sweat off his face and looked with a smile at his miniature particle accelerator, it was like a circle of metal and other materials a little over a foot wide and in diameter.

If everything worked correctly, he could use the accelerator to generate large amounts of energy for a long period of time at a very low price if he ever built a copy of iron man armor, he could use it as an energy source.

He connected the accelerator to a series of rechargeable batteries and activated the function to control the electric current, he did not want to explode the batteries in the first test, the most important thing at the moment was to ensure that he could collect the energy from the particle accelerator.

Sighing, he put his hand on the switch but did not activate it. He had a strange feeling as if his instincts were saying something that he couldn't quite identify.

He stopped and checked the accelerator again, he wanted to make sure he didn't miss anything, however, after watching closely and finding no problem he sighed and thought. 'Relax, nothing wrong is going to happen ... '

Putting his hand on the switch again, he closed his eyes and started counting.

1... 2... 3... At that moment he activated the switch and prepared for anything that could happen. Then he heard a noise, it started out as a buzz, and then went up to an electric crackle.

Opening his eyes, he looked excitedly at the glowing cables as the energy was transmitted to the batteries. Sighing with relief he sat on the bench, he was about to say something when a strange sensation arose in the air

Looking back, he saw something that resembled a shadow of a man with red arcs of electricity being expelled from his body every few seconds.

"You are so naive, I even left a warning and you went on… Did you really think it would be that simple? Your death will solve many problems, don't worry, I'll take care of the spider girl for you. I'm sure she won't mind, hahaha! " A strange, metallic voice came from the shadow.

Harrison couldn't believe his eyes, it seemed like a lie, he really didn't want to accept what was in front of him.

The moment the man with the red lightning moved, it was as if a ray had crossed the shed and was about to hit him, but something hit the man in red and threw him on the wall.

Soon after, another ray appeared and along with the red ray began to circulate through the place, a white and a red ray.

Soon after the two stopped and faced each other, Harrison hid behind the table and looked at the man with the white rays, he wore a type of black armor with white bands in the shape of lightning on the arm and leg.

"You will not be able to stop me forever, I will destroy everything you built, the same way I killed your father! HAHAHAHA! " The shadow covered in red rays phased through the wall and disappeared.

The man in the white armor looked at Harrison and then at the particle accelerator that started releasing energy discharges a few seconds later, then he went back to chasing the shadow that emitted red rays.

Harrison was really scared, his hands and legs were shaking, he would have continued behind the desk if the accelerator hadn't started to make strange noises.

When he realized what was going on he couldn't help cursing, "Son of a bitch!" running he started to deactivate the accelerator but to no avail, some kind of chain reaction had started, taking a few steps back, he was about to leave, but unfortunately, there was not enough time, the accelerator imploded releasing a wave of energy that sent him against the wall at the same time that the remaining charge of electricity hit him, the wave continued on and only stopped after almost 1 km.

Before Harrison lost consciousness, all he saw was the fire spreading through the shed.
