Chapter 81: Aftermath

Chapter 81: Aftermath

A sigh left Revensol’s mouth. He had finally found some traces, very old, but traces nonetheless. Now that he had found them, it would be possible to dig them up no matter how old they were. The system he had been given access to by Knrama had everything, each and everything thing since the creation of the settlement, since the first humans were brought in this settlement. What he needed was not old though. It was much more recent.

The people who had been supplying the orphanage had allowed all of this to happen. Through them he found some leads to those who had been working though it had been difficult to find them. They were had been suspiciously missing, but they were not dead, not all of them, he had checked the data of Grave Tower to make sure of that. What most had done was performing intricate actions that would confuse the data taken by the settlement, using that to disguise themselves. But he had found them.

“Human experimentation, huh, expected should I say.” That had been one of the things on his mind seeing how careful they were being but now it had been confirmed. Revensol sat back, relaxing, though the people in front of him were unable to do so. They had been adamant to say nothing but that did not matter to him. He had enough experites in memory manipulation that even his men had infiltrated various settlements without anyone being found out, so searching through the memories of some people, people much waker than him, was not that hard.

“That harvester was also trapped there, right. Was it the experiments that resutled in that ability of his? But no. If that had been the case, then the Lord’s would have become aware of it no doubt…” Revensol muttered his musing, while thinking of Inero-ie’s parents. That incident too was a massive dirt on the nobility. Especially the death of a Seeker.

Once again he started scraping through the massive sea of information. Now that he finally had concrete leads on the orphanage case, he could set some focus on the plague that had killed of an entire sub-sector.

“I wish to explore the settlement.”

“For your safety, I cannot fulfull that wish, princess. Fights have broken out through each Layer and there is no telling what is happening outside.”

“The fighting has concluded.”

“I beg your forgiveness, but I cannot allow you to do so, princess.”

“Are you going against my orders?”

“Yes princess, Respectfully, I have to state that Lord Knrama’s orders take a priority, which is to keep you safe within the tower.”

“Do you think you can go against my orders?”

“I do not think so, princess. But Lord’s order take priority.”

“Step aside.”

“Unabel to do so, princess.”

“So be it.” as her lips moved to pronounce each word, the world around them experienced a change. The Qi in the air moved as though it had been awaiting her order and the air thickened, the moisture condensed into droplets which amidst the fall, became ice, so shattering some surviving.

Stolen novel; please report.

She no longer wore a mask of acted emotions on her face, a blank look took its place that sent a chill down Orama’s spine. There was something wrong with her, he felt it just looking at her but what, he could not ascertain, it escaped her grasp. Despite the uncomfortable situation, he could not back down. That he could never do.

The increasing chill made him think of one specific incident that had occurred long ago, one that he had barely survived. His armor suit had been severely damaged back then under a monster attack and he had been forced to seal himself, but before sealing, for a few moments, he had felt it, the cold that made the outside a wasteland filled with nothing but ice. And it kept getting stronger making him wonder how far out she had gone to visualize induce such a powerful chill despite being limited by her State.

Almost an instant the hair on his body had fully frozen, and he plucked one out, his skin likewise was being frozen. The Qi moved, it was not intangible, not unreal, but rather like air, real and everywhere throughout his body, circulating without any shackles. He willed, and multiple layers of ice surrounded him, each layer etched with formations further enhancing its effectiveness, and a vacuum between them to reduce the time if took for the chill to get to him.

The chill started receding converging on the top of her, brewing, further intensifying. The air shook, some of the gases splashing on the floor. She struck her palm towards the ice barriers and the chill detached from her hand, moving. As it headed towards her target, she could feel the drain on her Qi reserves which had sharply dropped so she took out a Refined Core to replenish her Qi, just like she had seen that harvester do.

“Everything has been prepared?”

“As you had ordered, sir. We have also started searching for the people you told us about. If they are still alive, we should be able to get to them soon.”

“Excellent, then I will be awaiting good news.”

After a slight bow, the hologram disappeared and once again Revensol was left alone in his room. The data feed continuously appeared and disappeared, an insane amount that required him to give it his all, or he would be lost in the sea of data before he even knew it.

Inero-ie stalked, hidden some distance away, while his target took out his anger on the already destroyed land. For now, it was just regular punches and stomps but he still decided to remain distant. Though he was hidden, that did not stop anything from harming him. Just one area of attack and he would be injured. He waited for a chance, but it was looking difficult, the target was fully surrounded by layers of Qi that would instantly activate in case anything neared. It was not visible but he was aware of the multiple layers sitting beneath the clothes, waiting. The barrier outside was just a shell, though a very sturdy shell.

Once his target was done rampaging, his power unfolded once more, sweeping the rumble of the collapsed tower aside while his family members, dead or alive, were protected by his Qi. Once again rage took over him, twisting his face.

“Lord, you need to see this,” a relatively unscathed man said, following which a hologram appeared, showing multiple men infiltrating the barrier and then splitting off, following which the hologram also split into different pieces, showing what each group had been doing. Their clothes were unidentifiable but once they took out the items and placed them on the castle, the Lord of Pobis family uttered, “Good, good, Vissbl. It seemed you really are scheming something down there but we shall see what it is. Order the men on the lower Layers to spend full efforts searching for Vissbl. Raid Noyb family bases or whatever it is required. I want his located.”

“Yes. lord.”

Similar scenes occurred besides the crumbling remains of the remaining two castles. They were completely sure of Noyb’s doing in this, especially the devices, which had further confirmed their guesses. For them, Vissbl was still alive, the fighting was still ongoing in the lower Layers, and they would soon find Vissble and avenge their dead members.
