Asher puts the projects on one of the tables and walks around the room in awe. A female scientist walks up to Asher.

“Mr. Jacobson?”

Asher looks at the scientist. She was slender and had her blonde hair up in a ponytail. She was definitely cute to Asher, almost cuter than Magan. The feature that caught his eye was her pink eyes. It was an interesting color for anyone. Asher stared into her eyes a little longer before shaking his head and snapped out of it.

“Please… call me Asher.”

Asher looks at her nameplate and then back at her.

“Brittany… it’s nice to meet you.”

Brittany blushes at Asher. She thought that he was cute as well, but she was bad at hiding it.

“It’s nice to meet you too, Asher.”

Asher and Brittany get to work. Asher opens project “REAPER”. Brittany takes half the file and sits next to Asher. Asher watches her take half the file and sit next to him. He wasn’t used to anyone working so close to him. Brittany looks up at Asher.

“What‘a wrong?”

Asher shook his head.

“N-nothing. I wasn’t expecting you to sit next to me.”

Brittany was shocked to hear that. Did he think she was repulsive? So, she had to ask Asher.

“Oh… does it bother you that I’m sitting next to you?”

Asher looks back at the project. Brittany gives him a devilish smile and then continues to work on her half. It seemed like her charms were working on him. Maybe she can take him away from that Magan girl. Hours go by as Brittany stands up and walks over to Asher. She leans on him and places a piece of paper in front of him.

“What do you think of this?”

“This formula. You think this molecule will work with the project?”

Asher snaps out of it and clears his throat. He looks at the formula. He shook his head. He knew immediately that it wasn't going to work. It was the same formula that he rejected before he was brought to the labs.

“It won’t work. Look.”

Asher types at his computer and shows that the molecule is too unstable. The simulation warps and then reacts into an explosion.

“Oh, my…”

Asher points at the computer screen and taps it. He slows the results to give her a better idea of why it wasn't going to work.

“That’s why it wouldn’t work.”

“Well, I wouldn’t mind something exploding around me…”

Brittany presses herself off of him and gave Asher a seductive look. Asher blushes a little. He is used to Magan teasing him but not Brittany. He didn't think he was popular with the girls.

“W-what…?”

Asher looks over as if Brittany was not there. Asher looks around to see her at a different station. Brittany looks at him as he quickly looks back at his paperwork. Few hours go by, Asher looks at his watch to see that it’s time to go and that he missed a lot of missed calls from Zayner. Asher sighs and gets up. Brittany walks over to Asher.

“Where are you going?”

“It’s time to go home, Brittany. I got to take a friend home.”

Brittany looks at her own watch. It was indeed time to go home. She was kinda sad that their day together was already over.

“Is it that time already? Time sure does fly by when you’re having fun.”

Asher could only chuckle.

“I wouldn’t call this fun. Interesting, but not fun. “

“Do you want to go somewhere tonight? You know… as friends?”

Of course, Brittany had other plans for tonight for them. Asher blushes a little as he turns away.

“Not tonight. Sorry, I just must sink in what happened today with this whole new promotion and all. “

Asher nervously laughs. Brittany pouts a little but then tries to change his mind with a little teasing by getting close to him and traces her finger on his shoulder. She tells him in an alluring voice.

“That’s too bad… I was going to let you sink in something else…”

Brittany walks away while Asher is flabbergasted. He turns around.

“Wait… what?”

Asher does not see Brittany. It was like she just disappeared. Asher’s watch vibrates. He looks at it to see Zayner calling. He rolls his eyes and answers it.

“Hold on, I’m coming!”

“That’s what she said!”

Asher only sighs as he enters the elevator. He exits the elevator to see Zayner right outside of it.

“Dude! Where have you been? I was waiting in your office for hours.”

“Were you trying to get off early?”

Asher gave Zayner a stern look. Zayner sighed and said.

“Okay… it felt like hours…”

“How long?”

Zayner throws his hands up in the air.

“Okay! It was an hour! Happy now?”

“Not really.”

Asher walks off leaving Zayner behind.

“You’re a dick, you know that?”

“Only to you.”

They enter the lobby as they see Frank. Frank waves at them.

“Have a good day, Mr. Jacobson and Mr. Chow.”

“You too, Mr. Ray”

“Eat a d-“

Asher covers Zayner’s mouth as they exit the building. Brittany watches Asher leave the building with his friend and drive off. She goes into Calypso’s office. As she entered the office, Calypso was staring at her with his fingers. He asked her impatiently.

“Well?”

Brittany smiled at Calypso as she stood in front of his desk.

“He’s better than you think. He knew the formula that I was giving him wouldn’t work. He’s… special.”

Calypso cocks an eyebrow at her.

“What do you mean ‘special’?”

Brittany smiles at Calypso before she can answer him, he waves her off.

“Don’t answer that. Do you believe that he can do it?”

“Oh, I think he can do it. I know he has what it takes.”

Calypso smiles widely as his eyes glow a purple hue.

“Perfect… He will be my perfect… ‘Lab Rat’…”
