‘And to think that the day started so well'
I wasn’t expecting anything exciting to happen when I visited the megalithic structure of my ancestors. I certainly wasn’t expecting to be in my current situation. Yet here I am, running from some huge undead monstrosity with rotting flesh and a rusty sword.
Let’s start over, I’m Alexander Runar (roo-nar), 19. I was in Scania, Sweden to visit Ale’s Stenar (or stones) to, I don’t know, go back to my roots or something.
I had woken up at around 6:00 in the morning, unable to sleep longer. After a shower, I dressed in jeans, a black t-shirt, a light blue jacket over it, and grey sneakers. Upon leaving my room, I had a breakfast of bread with kaviar spread, boiled eggs, and lightly sweetened coffee. After a quick stop at the restroom, I was out the door at 7:00.
After a half-hour bus ride, I arrived at my destination, Ale’s Stenar.
Before I departed from the bus, I spoke to the driver, “Hey, is there anything you recommend doing while I’m here other than checking out the stones?”
“hmm, you could take a bit of a hike to Ystad, visit the abbey, there’s not much else nearby” He scratched his chin, “you could also take a swim if you don’t mind getting wet”.
“thank you” I smiled, “I might just do that, have a good day” I left the bus, ready to see the sites.
I ended up deciding to visit Ystad first, it was a bit further away than I thought, and I ended up walking 10 kilometers (about 6 miles). Ystad was a village that looked practically medieval, it had two large gothic style churches and a ferry. I ended up spending more than five hours in Ystad, an hour of that was spent playing a game called handball, which was similar to basketball ball, but with soccer goals instead of basketball hoops. when I returned to the Stenar, it was about 1:30 in the afternoon.
As I walked around, brushing my hand against all the stones, I came to the stone furthest from the path and stopped, I felt something, like a carving in the stone. I took out my phone and turned on the flashlight, it took some scrutinizing, but I found what I thought I had felt, it looked like runes.

As I stepped closer to the stone, my foot slipped on a wet patch of grass where someone had spilled water before. I caught myself on the stone, but my hand scraped against its rough surface and bled on the runes.
When I stood back up, the runes started to glow faintly, and a rainbow of colors began shining from the runes, I looked around, other people were wandering about, but none of them seemed to notice what was happening, suddenly the runes flashed brightly, and a glowing rainbow circle appeared in front of me, at first I was apprehensive, I looked around me again, but it seemed like no one else saw the strange occurrence happening so close to them. I took a step closer and touched the light with my hand but it disappeared into the light, I tried to yank my hand back, but it was stuck.
Suddenly, the light started to pull me into it, and before I knew it, I was flying threw a rainbow portal to god knows where. I was moving through the portal for what felt like hours, and when I finally got bored, I shot out of it into a grassy field similar to the one I was just in.

As I looked around the area I found myself in, I noticed a stone structure about a hundred meters to my left and a forest behind me.
In my infinite wisdom, I chose to investigate the unknown structure and ran to get to it. As I neared the structure, I came to realize what it was…a tomb. Slowing down, I became more cautious in my approach.
Upon reaching the entrance of the tomb, I stopped to look at it. The tomb was just over 3 meters(10 feet) tall, 4.5 meters (15 feet) long, and 2.5 meters (8 feet) wide, and the entrance was more than a meter wide (about 4 feet), and 2.25 meters tall (about 7 feet), the stone was a dark gray and looked to be about 15 centimeters thick (roughly 6 inches).
I finally worked up the courage to go into the dark tomb, thinking I could use it as a temporary shelter, as I walked in, I couldn’t help but notice the corpses on the walls, there were 4 on either side of me uncovered, but wrapped completely, and 2 at the end in open standing coffins.
The bodies on the walls seemed to be completely skeletal having decayed entirely, as did the body at the end on the left, but the one on the right still had flesh and muscle. It stood at nearly 2.5 meters, with broad shoulders and a large rusty sword at its side.
I slowly moved closer to the end of the tomb, and when I was within 2 meters of the end, the eyes of the corpse on the right shot open, a groaning sound came from its mouth, and it left its resting place. As it stepped out of the coffin, it looked around. The second it spotted me, it let out a thundering roar.
I had frozen when it first groaned, but the roar snapped me out of it, I started turning around as its yellow eyes glared at me, making my adrenaline skyrocket. I saw it grab its sword out of the corner of my eye as I sprinted out of the tomb, the undead creature gave another roar of rage and gave chase.
I left the tomb and immediately turned towards the forest running as fast as I could, looking for anything that could help me get away.
”shit! what the hell am I gonna do?!” I cursed.
And now I'm here, running from a giant corpse in a forest, you’re all caught up now. Nice to meet you.
