So, there I was, running from the terrifying monster who's not so eternal slumber I had accidentally interrupted. As I reached the forest, I spotted a branch nearly at eye level that looked to be solid yet flexible just ahead of me. I ducked under the branch when I got to it, grabbing it as I ran by, pulling it as far as I could manage before letting it snap back. The undead staggered back, but recovered quickly, letting out a brief roar before resuming the chase. I was already running again, eager to put as much distance between me and snaggletooth as I could. Sending a glance back, I saw that the monster was rapidly gaining on me.
Returning my gaze ahead of me, I frantically sprung to the side in a not-completely successful attempt to dodge a tree that was nearly directly in front of me. In my hurry, my shoulder hit the tree, making me stagger. Without bothering to look behind me again, I sped up, but I was running out of breath. Just as I started getting lightheaded, the trees opened into a clearing, and on the other side was a path. Seeing this, I gained a second wind, I sped up as much as I could, anxious to get help. Though I desperately wanted to shout for help, I knew I needed to save my breath for running, so I kept my voice to myself.
The only noises my brain could comprehend were the pounding of my feet against the forest floor and the sounds of the unholy abomination groaning after me, the rest of its energy used to find anything that could help me out of this situation. Just as I reached the path, I spotted an opportunity, a large rock was resting underneath a relatively low-hanging branch, not decreasing my speed, I angled myself to be able to use the rock as a stool to climb onto the branch.
Reaching the tree I was aiming for, I stepped onto the stone and leaped to the branch, I scrambled to pull myself fully onto the branch I had grasped. Just as I climbed fully onto the branch, a hand gripped my foot and started yanking, the undead had caught up! Letting out a scream, I started kicking as hard as possible without losing my grip on the tree, but the monster's grip only tightened. I looked down at the undead, its rotting mouth open in a roar, I looked away, struggling all the more to get away, by now, the undead's hand had slid down until all it had in its grip was my foot, thinking fast I kicked off my shoe, finally letting me free of the monster's grasp, allowing me to climb further up the tree and out of its reach.
Climbing until I felt relatively safe, I looked around to find the path again, then I jumped to a tree next to the one I was on that followed the path, falling down a few branches before getting a grip. After repeating the process of climbing a few branches before jumping to the next tree a few times, I turned to see what the undead was doing.
"what the fuck?!" I swore, terrified. The monster was growing, getting larger by the second. Turning back around, I started jumping from tree to tree as fast as I could, climbing every few trees when I missed too many branches. It wasn't enough, after maybe a dozen trees, the undead got large enough to hit me, sending me flying off the branch I was on and down to the hard ground. Landing on my arm, I gasped in pain feeling something break in the aforementioned limb.

I scrambled to my feet, but it was too late, the monster had reached me. I felt a burning pain in the back of my neck, I jumped forward, trying to get any space between us. Turning around, determined to make one final stand, I saw the undead monster standing there, having reverted to its normal previous size. Seeing my "defiance" the undead roared and charged, having the beginnings of a plan, I charged too, and when it got close enough to start swinging its sword, I dove towards its legs, hoping to make it fall over, and it did, seeing this, I immediately took a two-step charge and kicked its head with all my strength before stomping on it, I did this twice before it started standing up suddenly, making me lose my balance and fall over.
The undead terror stood over me, sword raised above its head. I closed my eyes fearing the end, when I felt a warmth deep within myself, spreading through my body, my eyes snapped open, and my mouth began moving.
"OTHALA!!" I shouted the word from the depths of my being, its meaning unknown to me, and the undead was thrown back, its sword flying out of its hand, it landed on its back, and then lay still. Rising to my feet I ran to grab the sword that lay halfway between us on the ground, I picked it up with some effort and moved toward the hopefully-actually-completely-dead thing that still hadn't moved from where it landed.
Standing over the probably dead thing, I raised its fallen sword over my head before driving it down into its skull and the earth beneath it. I did this thrice before the adrenaline started to fade, making me aware of the throbbing pain in my left arm. I lifted the sword from the skull of my fallen foe and held it in my right hand. I almost sat down, but I knew that I needed to get my arm looked at, and the trail was my best chance at finding civilization any time soon. So I lifted my head and slowly started walking down the trail, away from the tomb, away from my foe, and away from my brush with death.
I continued like this for hours, and the adrenaline had left me completely, making me feel every ache and pain from the day I'd had, and the blood from the undead clawing the back of my neck had dried. I was beginning to think I would have to stop for the night, but just as the last light was leaving the sky, I saw walls with torches upon them. I began running, spirit lightened by the site, as I neared the structure, I slowed down, so as not to appear as a threat, not that I thought I looked like much of one, what with the dirt smudging my face and clothes, my arm hanging limp, and me stumbling from exhaustion, not to mention the dried blood on my neck from where the undead had landed a blow.
"help, please! anyone!" I shouted upon reaching the gate.
The gate opened, and a woman rushed out. Seeing this I cried in relief and sped my pace up just a bit to get there quicker. As the woman reached me, she immediately started looking me over, she began speaking, but I couldn't understand her, everything was starting to sound muffled, and my vision started darkening at the edges. I went to respond, but when I opened my mouth before a sound could come out, the world went black.
