Chapter 1: Raven Squad

Soldiers donned with Kevlar vests, shifted around the locker room endlessly. They opened their own personal rusty lockers that screamed for oil, grabbing its inner contents. Arming themselves with Bowie knives and an automatic weapon, the soldiers went off to do their own personal deeds. Sounds of the television passed through their ears as someone turned it on. It’s hazy screen and the typical anchorwoman was on the screen broadcasting several typical matters. However as time passes by their curiosity took the better of them as they heard something interesting “Once prosperous city". They slowly craned their bodies towards the television only to let their bodies drop with disbelief, some grimaced at the news, while others showed no emotion. All of them simply stood there silently watching the rusty television broadcasting.
As everyone finished their activities they all looked at the time, 8:00 AM. All the people in Kevlar vests went to the doorway and stood there with an attentive aura. As soon as they reached their spots, the door opened. A man with a bald head, chewing on the tip of a cigar looked at the soldiers, he stood there silently as his eyes gazed at them. After a moment passed by, the bald man simply walked passed them to sit on a seat behind them, leaving them to stare ahead. As another man walked in after the bald man sat down. He had brown hair, his demeanor was wrinkled, and he looked at the soldiers and stood in front of them. His chest was pumped with air as he was about to say something.
“Attention!”
The man yelled in great form, allowing it to echo the room once and quickly quiet itself down after doing so. They stood in silence once again, while the TV in the background continued to ramble on. The man walked about and confirmed the gazes of the soldiers , then he began to talk.
“As you’ve heard soldiers…. no not soldiers… you are now a special division within the army, you have had the luxury of being spent on. Every dime, nickel, and Benjamin Franklin Bills that have been used to train you for battle, to train you to think on your toes. You even went to a goddamn science class to learn the anatomy of your enemies. Now, it’s time to show your worth… for we have a special mission upon our hands. I’m sure, you know what I’m talking about.”
The soldiers simply nodded, while the man looked at the television.
As the atmosphere calmed down, the people automatically tuned in the television’s broadcast.
>>Currently what we have here, is a class 5 quarantine upon one of the biggest cities in our nation. It’s rather a dramatic end to this once prosperous city. The government had said that this matter was not an accident but was specifically targeted by the enemies of our nation. We have no idea what sort of disease are within the quarantine but I have received reports about cannibalism within the quarantine zone. Rest assured the government have ensured that if anything tried to get pass the barrier that they set up. They will be annihilated. They have even used their top notch weaponry to fend off these abominations to secure the livelihoods of the fortunates.” <<
A video showed the turrets upon the walls, slowly rotating across it’s sight.
The TV was shut off, and the soldiers immediately directed their attentions back to the brown headed man, who simply continued to gaze at the TV and slowly faced towards them.
“As of now, I’ve been assigned as your new captain within the team. There are ten of us within this squad. You will call me Captain Landford as of now, and whenever we get into field just call me Landford. Time is of the essence. Alright, your old Captain, Captain Linus will also be following me to assist us in working as a squad. Eventually splitting off into two groups, however we will continue to follow each other’s orders. Alright, Soldiers SOUND OFF!”

A man with wild hair, immediately stood into attention and faced forward. Others immediately followed
“Sergeant Jake reporting for duty!”
“Sergeant Cody reporting!”
“Corporal Ivan reporting!”
“Corporal Lucas reporting!”
“Private Zack reporting!”
“Private Dan reporting!”
“Private Omar reporting!”
“Private Davis reporting!”
The bald man, Linus, walked up besides Landford and looked at his squad. He slowly turned his head towards Landford, and asked.
“So, what’s our mission?”
“Our mission? First we have the transmission of the first team that went in. Squad Alpha, and Beta.”
Landford grabbed out a recorder and played it.
>>Radio tower, Squad Alpha has descended upon their location, after a few moments they met some resistance. Currently we are enroute to Squad Beta’s drop off point. Over<<
>>Radio tower, this is Squad Beta chopper we are seeing an unidentified object. Over<<
>> This is radio tower, there should be no friendly's on the ground other than Squad Alpha and potential survivors within the city. <<
After a few moments
>>Radio tower this is Squad Beta chopper we are under attack, I repeat we are under attack. Oh Fuck, Evan fire at the goddamn thing! *Gunshots* Turn the goddamn chopper around! I’m turning as fast as I can!<<

The soldiers looked back at Landford, he simply smacked his lips and turned off the transmission.
“Our second mission is to investigate Squad Alpha and Beta last known location. Find out if any of them survived… if they did we’ll do the extraction. However our primary mission is to go in and obtain lab data from the evil company that lays underground… Umbrella corporation.”
A moment of silence occurred and Linus came up with a report on his hand and looked at Landford for a moment.
“Wait a second this report doesn’t state anything about Umbrella Corporation.”
“Yeah, I got that from Resident, anyways we need to get this report. This will be crucial…. think of it as a chance to save the city.”
“We have a fallback plan if the mission fails, however that’s only if the mission fails, if I die everyone will have a capsule that will tell them the next mission. Regardless of the mission follow them, they have their reasons.”
“Yes sir” everyone yelled.
“Alright Squad let’s fly!”
“Hoorah!”
Everyone followed Captain Landford to the choppers.
