-Burning Blood: Ch 5-

"You know that bit Nezu will occasionally ramble on about? You know, the one about how he's a grandmaster in every competitive board game, and has outsmarted AI that had been undefeated even by the best humans on the planet? Well, it's a lie."

Meli Kinoshita, the president of the HPSC, stared at Dixie with so much raw emotion that it broke through her normal poker face- a strange mixture of total exasperation, extreme annoyance, and genuine curiosity,

"Dixie…" She sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Look, you're a very bright individual, and very ambitious. There's a reason I promoted you to chief of security, after all. But please enlighten me," She waved the five cards she had in her hand at him from across his desk. "Why did you invite me to play poker in your office, while we're in the middle of a terrorist attack?"

She glanced over the hand she had, and then to the rich dark oak desk that the deck sat on.

"We don't even have chips to bet with."

"Don't worry, maam, just bear with me for a moment." Dixie hummed before discarding two cards. "There's one board game that Nezu has never had any good luck with- in fact he has something of a losing streak in it. It's called Diplomacy." He drew two cards to replace the ones he discarded before motioning for Kino to go.

"Compared to something like GO or even Chess for that matter, it's fairly simple. There are eight players, playing on a rough tiled map of Europe. Each tile can hold a single unit, and all units are of equal strength, if you want to push an enemy unit out of a tile you have to have a second unit support your attacking unit- a pure game of numbers. If two players fight over a space and are evenly numbered in support, neither unit moves. Around the map there are tiles called supply points, and for every supply point you own, you get to have an extra unit. That's it. That's the basics. Simple, right?"

"Sounds like it." Kino sighed and drew her own cards, gesturing for Dixie to continue.

"The trick to the game arises from two things. First, all players start with exactly three units."

"Wouldn't that immediately stalemate the game?" The president raised an eyebrow.

"Exactly." Dixie grinned. "The only way to progress in the game is to get someone else to help you, support your units with theirs. Which leads to the second trick that sets the game apart. Each turn consists of ten to thirty real time minutes, of all the players dragging one another to different rooms to try to win them over to their side. Then, all troop orders are written out ahead of time on notecards, and they're all flipped at the same time. That way, every move happens at the same time."

"Meaning you only have someone's word to go on, and wouldn't know if someone double crossed you until you've already committed." Kino hummed and adjusted her cards. "I admit, it sounds intriguing."

"It does, doesn't it? And since there can only be one winner, it's not a question of if players backstab their allies, it's a question of when, and who does it first. One player getting too many units, will lead to grand alliances between multiple other players, even bitter enemies- only for those fronts to eventually collapse as they turn on one another once they start making progress. The game trades the randomness of dice, for the irrationality of people." The chief of security paused to take a sip of water.

"Hence why Nezu has never been fond of it, and why he hasn't had the same luck he's had with the other games. Diplomacy isn't actually a game of math and numbers, it's one of psychology and sociology, a game of people. And one I've had quite reasonable success with over the years."

"Cut to the point Dixie. What does any of that have to do with us playing poker during the largest Villain attack in years?"

"The Poker? Honestly, it's nothing, just a way to pass time." Dixie dropped his hand on the table to reveal a Straight, only to tisk as Kino layed down a Flush. "But my explanation about the game was a lead up. Let's be honest with ourselves, neither of us will ever outsmart Nezu, especially when it comes to his own school. But…" Dixie smirked at Kino with a cocky look. "I think I can out-person him."

Almost as if to punctuate his claim, the phone on his desk began to ring.

Dixie gave her a wink before leaning over and punching a button on it.

"Howdy, you're on the line with the Safety Commission's finest, who are you stranger?"

"Who am I!?" A gruff middle aged voice shouted from the phone speaker. "I'm the Damn PRIME MINISTER of this country! Who the hell are you!?"

"Mr Abiko, it's an honor to make your acquaintance, my name is William Dixie, the HPSC's chief of security." He said as he leaned back in his chair. "How can I be of assistance?"

"I called Kinoshita, but got redirected to you, but I guess you'll do just as well- what THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!?"

"As of the moment?" Dixie took a sip of water and glanced down at the poker cards. "Nothing."

"I CAN SEE THAT!" The prime minister exclaimed. "And so can everyone else with a TV! Are you even aware that the biggest public event scheduled for this year is under the largest Villain attack we've seen in almost a decade!?"

"Of course sir."

"THEN WHY ISN'T THE HPSC THERE!?" He howled. "The entire festival's comms are out, we have no idea what all's going on in there! I want every agent you have at the festival YESTERDAY!"

"Brilliant idea Mr Prime Minister!"

"Don't try to schmooze me right now! GET ON IT!"

"Ah wish I could, unfortunately I can't."

There was a brief pause over the phone, likely the PM trying to understand what he'd just heard."WHY THE HELL NOT!?"

"Well, if you've read the 'The Heroes for All Act' that the HSPC's been bitching about basically since forever, you should know damn well why. With the sole exception of regulatory laws, Nezu has absolute, complete authority over everything that happens on UA soil. He has expressly told me that the HSPC is unwanted and unwelcome on the premise. We aren't allowed so much as an inch past the door."

"...are you fucking serious?"

"Completely sir. I have written documents from UA itself. The only ones allowed to contribute to the festival's security are independent Heroes, and Hero agencies that are partnered with UA. Nezu even had a security team of mine that I sent to help, temporarily arrested, and held in a side room by Heroes, under his express orders."

"That fucking narcissistic, stuck up, piece of-" The PM muttered audibly under his breath before turning his attention back to the call. "I don't care what Nezu's told you! You have my express permission to overwrite anything that rat has said, just GET THIS SITUATION UNDER CONTROL!"

"I would need an executive order for tha-"

"And you have it!" He snapped. Just get it done!"

"Of course sir!" Dixie sat up with a smile and adjusted his cowboy hat, a wide grin on his face. "I'll have my men on the scene, and get the comms back up ASAP!'

"See that you do Dixie, if this kills my political career, I'm dragging your whole organization down with me!"

And with that, the phone clicked, and let out a beep, signifying that the caller had hung up.

"Well, happy early birthday boss." Dixie smirked at Kino. "My present: One executive order, allowing the temporary brute forcing past anything with Nezu's fingerprint on it- so long as it's vaguely related to security of course."

Kino hummed and gave Dixie a reevaluating look. "And I assume you recorded the call?"

"Of course." He smirked. "Wouldn't want to have him suddenly try to backtrack what he said, once Nezu starts gunning for blood."

"True, and it would be nice to have the rat going after someone that wasn't us for a change." She said as she rose to her feet and straightened out her suit. "How long do you think you can make this last for?"

"Depends on how long it takes you to get your VP in place."

"Don't worry about my abilities Dixie, focus on doing your part." The president said as she turned and walked out of her subordinate's office.

"You got it boss!" He quipped, gathering the poker cards and sliding them neatly into his pocket.

"Oh and Dixie." Kino paused in the doorway. "I don't know what you have planned next, but shelve it. I'm taking control of this whole thing. Get the situation under control, and then make yourself presentable. I think it's time that the heads of the HPSC have a meeting with Nezu over who's really in charge here."

Dixie visibly paused for several seconds, mulling it over in his head, before forcing a friendly smile onto his face.

"...You got it boss."

-Rain of Sins-

Sulfur panted as he sprinted down the empty hallways, hopping over the downed bodies of Heroes and Villains alike.

This whole thing was a total bust! He had to get out of here! Get out of here, find the idiot in charge of this idea, and give the dipshit a piece of his mind!

Yeah, he'd find the person who conned him into this! They must have had some decent reputation to set all this up, and when Sulfur took them down, then he'd REALLY start making a name for himself! Never again would anyone make fun of him for how young he looked! For how short he was! They would all fear the name of MUSTARD!

Yes.

YES!

That's what he'd do! Take his complaints all the way to the top, and hitch his prestige on the elevator up baby!

But first he had to get out of here, so that his quirk started working again.

He smirked as he jumped over the form of a UA student with long red hair, lying on the floor with blood leaking from her forehead.

The universe was shining on him today! Most of the Pro Heroes seemed to be congregating around the civilians, the only people he'd seen so far in this side of the building were students with inflated egos, acting too big for their britches.

Oh, please. He could handle some entitled brats!

His quirk was so much better than theirs, he could literally beat them with both hands held behind his back.

Actually, it would feel good to put those goodie two shoe wannabes in their place! It would teach them not to look down on him, just because of some rigged ass test! Teach them not to think they're better than him, just because their quirks work on robots! In the real world, he'd fucking smoke their asses!

He'd beat them so fucking hard, that they'd start crying for their mommies like babies, and then he would be the one making jokes about people looking young!

"Bring it on!" Sulfur shouted to all of the exactly zero people nearby. "I'll send all you entitled wannabes packing!"

"That's right!" He yelled as he kicked open a door with an [EXIT THIS WAY] sign above it. "You're all gonna be a stepping stone to Mustard's path to the t-"

But he was rudely interrupted by the flat side of a sword smashing into his helmet and knocking him out cold.

-Rain of Sins-

"Keep it up!" Aoyama shouted to his friends as he brought his crystal sword back to bear in front of him. "Their numbers are dwindling! If we can hold out just a bit longer, their attack will break apart!"

"You got it boss!" Mineta replied as he slammed feet first into a thug's face before bouncing off and landing on one of his sticky balls, which bounced him away before he could get swarmed.

"Ribbit." Tsu nodded in affirmation as she used her tongue to pull an axe away from a woman and then kick her upside the head.

"Will do!" Ochako said as she floated another pair of Villains into the air where they couldn't harm anyone.

Stumbling upon the girls had been a lucky, and desperately needed, break for the two bros. Between Mineta jumping all over the walls using his orbs as bounce pads, and Aoyama's near continuous plasma bursts, their fighting styles were incredibly energy intensive. By the time Tsu and Ochako found them, both had been panting heavily, Mineta's head was bleeding from quirk overuse, and Aoyama was suffering from severe cramps from the same.

Having two new sets of shoulders to split the work was a huge help.

Unfortunately for the plucky Heroes, luck wasn't on their side.

Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.

"Break apart, huh?" A raspy voice asked from behind the wall of Villains. "Pretty ambitious idea you got there."

There was a cry of pain, and then the wall parted down the middle, the crooks almost falling over each other trying to get out of the way.

Mineta gasped at the voice, and Tsu went pale.

"Ambitious to think you'll survive that long." A man covered in Hero merch laughed as he took a step over the pile of dusty bloody chunks at his feet. "Unfortunately for you, this is Game Over."

"And who do you think you are?" Aoyama asked, refusing to show the worry building up inside him, lest it crumble his team's morale.

The man smirked, slipping his thumb under the gaudy All Might mask he wore, lifting it up to reveal a cruel gin, chapped lips, and red eyes.

"Surprise~" Tomura Shigaraki said with a dry chuckle.

"I don't know who you are." Ochako glared at him, and brought her hands up in a boxing stance. "But bring it!"

But Tomura didn't even acknowledge her, instead he looked right over her head. "The blond idiot. I've been wondering where you were." The Villain chuckled. "Took long enough to find you, you're the last thing I need before I can complete this quest."

"...Me?" Aoyama asked, his sword faltering slightly. "You're here for me?"

"Of Course!" Tomura grinned. "And you know exactly why."

"Wha-"

But before he could ask his question, Tomura shot forward.

Aoyama blinked, and that was all it took.

One moment, Tomura was ten feet away, the next he was mid lunge- his hand outstretched, mere inches from Aoyama's face.

Across the room, Ochako and Mineta screamed, but a strange sense of resigned calm came upon him.

Idly, thoughts filtered through his head. "This is it. This is how I die. Not in some epic fight, or in a blaze of glory, but like an idiot."

Tomura grinned, like the cat who caught the canary, but was brutally snapped to the side, as Tsu flew in. Her powerful legs propelled her into one of the incredibly fast jumps she was known for, as she spun and delivered a roundhouse kick directly to Tomura's jaw.

Sigaraki cried out in a mixture of shock and pain, but as he fell, his arm lashed out blindly and grabbed ahold of Tsu's outstretched leg.

His quirk was weakened, but that almost made it worse. Instead of being turned into fine gray specks of dust, Tsu screamed in agony as her leg was painfully ripped apart into a sludgy mixture of meat chunks and gray sand.

"NO!" Aoyama shouted, bringing his sword down in an overhead swing, forcing Tomura to let go of the ruined limb.

Tomura dodged, but Aoyama didn't let up, swinging again and again. Tomura tried to bat the blade away, but grimaced as it burnt his hand, the flesh hissing as it met the flat edge of the sword.

Aoyama took the split second opening for what it was worth, and released a beam of light from his armor's stomach gem that crashed into Tomura and sent him sprawling across the room. But instead of following up with the Villain, he turned and rushed to his classmate.

"Tsu!" He shouted as he slid to her side, metal kneecaps scraping across the concrete.

He was joined by Ochako and Mineta by his side mere moments later.

"Oh my God…" Ochako whispered, her hands over her mouth as she stared at Tsu's ruined leg.

"It looks like she blacked out from the pain." Mineta said, barely restrained panic in his tone. "We need to get her out of here!"

"We all need to get out of here." Aoyama said firmly as he scooped his green friend up in a bridal carry. "The civilians got out, there's no reason for us to stay any longer. We're in over our heads."

Ochako and Mineta nodded, both quickly falling in line with the plan.

"And what makes you think you're allowed to leave?" Tomura asked, his voice causing all three of them to flinch, as he shakely pulled himself to his feet. His Hawks Jacket had been burnt off, and the skin on his chest showed severe signs of heavy burn damage, but with their quirks weakened, Aoyama's plasma hadn't been enough to burn a hole through him, even at full strength.

"Just because you got a lucky critical hit?" Tomura tisked at them. "That's a bad thing to build a strategy around, luck just isn't predictable. And it looks like yours is all used up."

There was some grumbling from around the room, and the three Heroes in training were quickly reminded that it wasn't just Tomura- they were also surrounded by a room of Villains.

"At this rate it'd take a miracle for you to get out, and last I checked, there wasn't a scripted event here!"

Tomura laughed maniacally, and Aoyama took a step back, his mind reeling as he tried to think of a way out of this.

Unfortunately for Tomura, he did the one thing you should never do: he tempted fate, and jinked himself.

The Ground buckled beneath everyone, causing screams of panic, and then the building exploded.

"That's strange." Tomura calmly thought, as a piece of the floor rocketed towards his face. "I don't remember the bomb I put in the blond's locker to be THAT bi-"

BANG

BANG

BANG

Gunshots rang out through the hallways as Yagi and Nezu made a mad dash towards the exit, hot on the heels of Snipe as he led a blood trail through Villains.

BANG

BANG

BANG

Villain after Villain fell in a bloody pile of gore. The smart ones ran away and Snipe gladly let them go. But the dumb, brave, and vengeful were rapidly burning through his ammo supplies.

"I know you ain't gonna approve boss-" BANG "But ah don't really care no more-" BANG "Once this whole mess is over'n done-" BANG "I'm gonna keep a full stash of lead on th' campus from now on!" BANG

Nezu didn't reply, far too busy concentrating on not letting his mind slip away.

Toshinori didn't reply either, keeping his eyes locked forward, refusing to look at the bloody bodies they passed- just more people he couldn't save.

At the end of the hallway, a large Villain made of stone lumbered out of a door, drawn by the commotion, as he locked his gaze on the Heroes he sneered and took up a fighting stance.

BANG

Snipe grunted as the bullet ricocheted off the Villain head-

CLICK

And then scoffed as it clicked empty, doubly so when he reached to his pouch to find he was out of bullets.

Instead of stopping his sprint however, he reared back and hurled his gun with as much force as he could at the Villain's head.

Stone Face yelped as the several pound brick of steel smacked into his face. Snipe crashed into him full speed, slamming his knee into his gut, causing both of them to grunt in pain. Acting quickly. Snipe swiped his gun out of the air, and slammed it down with enough for to crack both the gun's handle, and the Villain's head.

"There!" He shouted as the Villain tumbled out of the way with a cry of pain. "The window! Quickly! Through the window!"

"What?" Nezu froze, but didn't get much of a choice as Yagi swiped him up and threw him over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

Together, with Snipe, he charged and jumped, crashing through the window and into freefall.

Nezu screamed, but falling from the second story of a building wasn't exactly the most dangerous thing either of the Heroes had done, and as they hit the ground with a roll, all they suffered was minor bruises.

The principle swiftly pulled himself away from Yagi and immediately began taking deep gulps of the Entropy free air.

"...Well." Snipe sighed "That was sumthin, wasn't it?"

Toshinori turned to say something, but was quickly cut off as the ground beneath him shifted.

His eyes shot open, and he screamed for everyone to get back, but his voice went unheard as the building they had just jumped out of, visibly shook as an explosion racked its frame.

Windows shattered like glass (which they were), and fire spilt out of every opening like holes in a balloon. Then, everyone watched with wide eyes as the absolutely mammoth building slowly began to tilt, its supports audibly groaning under the weight, before the western half began to crumble in on itself.

People screamed and children cried as the coliseum began falling apart. The eastern half, destabilized by its sister side falling on it, now began to tilt sideways, away from the structure, threatening to crush the countless bystanders who had gathered to watch, and the police forming a ring around the building.

Some ran, some curled themselves around their children in a desperate attempt to protect them, others fell to their knees and prayed, and yet more screamed in terror, the sheer size of the crowd gridlocking them and preventing them from moving.

All was lost.

But then a miracle descended.

His hair shining like the sun, a star on Earth, All Might crashed into the base of the building, and braced himself against it! Steam billowing around him as he and he alone took the weight of the building on his shoulders.

His eyes glowing a fierce gold, he grabbed the side of the building with both hands and held.

Like Atlas holding the world he stood, unflinching, unmoving, unshakable.

But even miracles had their limits.

The building groaned, its supports broken. Although All Might had stopped it from tipping over, it still threatened to fall apart, tearing into smaller individual chunks that could fall like meteors upon the crowd.

…But let it never be said that lighting can't strike twice. And this festival was on the grounds of UA, where Heroes, living legends such as All Might himself, were made.

Vines, countless vines, covered in thorns and roses alike, erupted from the building's wall, and snaked their way around it, wrapping it in a tangled net inside and out.

Sweat running down his brow, All Might chanced a glance up.

Kneeling at the top of the building, her head pressed flat against the roof, and clutching the golden cross that hung around her neck, with the sun to her back like heaven's own Halo, was Ibara.

Atop the roof, above the world, Ibara grit her teeth in agony, as she forced her Vines to stretch far beyond what they were physically capable of, to be thicker than what they ever had in the past, to wrap around one another for strength, and yet to strain and slowly be torn apart by the weight regardless.

Alone, with no one around her but the sky above she whispered to herself, and He who was always with her. He who was by her side. He who had walked through the valley of death for her. He who had vowed to protect her, and deliver her from evil.

"But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." She gasped in agony as something snapped, the building shuttering, and she quickly called upon more vines to reinforce the area. "Sovereign LORD, remember me. Please, God, strengthen me just once more!" She cried, tears of blood stinging her eyes. "Lend upon me a fraction of your infinite power, so that I may deliver your flock from harm, oh Lord!"

At the base of the tower, All Might pulled from all the strength he possessed, the strength of mankind, the strength of his predecessors, and the power- the DUTY bestowed upon him. The Stubborn will of humanity to refuse the impossible.

Atop the tower, Ibara knelt and bared her soul to the will of the Heavens.

Worlds apart in both distance and viewpoint, the two called upon everything they had.

But between the two of them… the building held.

And as Safety Commission troops began flooding the premise, helicopters flying overhead, and the communications flickered back to life… The storm seemed to subside.

-Rain of Sins-

Izuku groaned in pain, his consciousness slowly coming back to him.

The first thing he noticed was the metallic taste of blood that seemed to permeate his mouth. He coughed, and he quickly figured out the answer to his unspoken question, as a sharp spike of pain dug through his chest, and bloop sputtered through his throat.

He coughed again and got the same result.

Second was pain. A lot of pain, enough to make stars dance in front of his eyes. It was all over, inside him, outside him, seemingly coming from everywhere and anywhere.

But as the memories of Endeavor igniting the gas line came back to him, he reckoned he was in a lot less pain than he should have been.

His mind quickly filled him in, countless biology lessons under Ujiko opening like a book, that probably meant that his burns were so bad, that they had burnt off so much of his flesh they had killed nerve endings.

Joy.

The third thing he registered was the light. Shining brightly through a large hole in the ceiling was the sun. Endeavor's final stunt must have done much more damage to the building than he had thought it would. Well, that was if he was thinking to begin with.

The fourth thing he noticed was the burnt corpse of a large nomu on top of him. It was one of the one's he'd made to be fire resistant- explained why it was burnt as opposed to ash.

Oh yeah, he'd jumped behind one of them when he realized what Endeavor was doing.

Huh. Good job, himself. Insead of dying instantly in a blast, now you're going to die slowly and painfully as you bleed out in the rubble.

Izuku let out a shaky sigh as he let his head drop back down on the broken concrete beneath him.

It was done.

He took deep breaths through his mouth, his nose far too clogged with blood, occasionally coughing when his throat began filling.

Distantly, the sound of search teams closing in grew closer, calling out for survivors.

But Izuku didn't care.

He'd killed Endeavor.

He'd avenged his mom.

He smiled softly at the thought.

"Come on Izuku." A hazy picture of his mom said as she crouched down beside him. "Let's get you home early today. How about we stop by that All Might cafe you love? Anything for my baby boy's special day!"

"Mom…" Izuku whispered in surprise, smiling at the empty space. "I love you Mom…"

"Oh Izuku, my sunshine, I love you too. I'll always love you, no matter what."

"Mama…"

Izuku's eyelids dropped slowly, a blissful numbness washing over him, taking the pain away.

"My big boy's a growing man! Eat your vegetables, and take all the naps you need."

Yeah, a nap… He needed… just… one… na… p…

Izuku breathed out, his chest going still.

Emerald eyes snapped open as something moved to his left, displacing rubble.

"no."

A large hand burst from under a large rock.

"No."

Slowly, with behemoth effort, the rock was lifted, revealing a charred, broken, bruised, and disfigured form… But still alive.

"NO!"

Defiantly Endeavor stood, his body broken, one of his arms mangled, organs visible through his stomach, the left of his face sliced open, and an eye missing.

But he stood.

"NOOO!" Izuku roared, blood spilling from his mouth.

But as if to Spite him, Endeavor refused to keel over.

"My God…" A voice from above gasped, a Hero team had stumbled upon them. "How is he alive?"

Endeavor took deep gasping gulps of air.

"I…" He grabbed hold of the wall with his good arm and pulled himself to his full height. "Am…" He raised his head high, as if challenging the Heavens themselves. "KING!"

"NOOO!" Izuku slammed a hand into the ground as hard as he could.

HOW? HOW!? WHY!?

How was he still alive?!

"WHY WON'T YOU DIE!?" Izuku screamed as agony, far more intense than what his body felt, tore through his very soul.

Endeavor slowly turned to face him, his sole remaining eye glaring at Izuku. "Because I am the best." He sneered. "It's all I've ever worked for."

"The best?" Izuku chuckled, hysteria gripping him as visions of his mom flashed through his head. "You don't deserve it. You don't deserve anything."

"What I deserve," The Hero growled, limping his way closer until he stood above Izuku. "Is decided by no one but me. By how hard I'm willing to work."

Endeavor glared down at him, his eye gleaming dangerously in the sunlight.

"And I have worked harder than you."

Izuku snarled, teeth clenched so hard they threatened to crack.

Desperately he pulled at something, at anything! Straining his body to move even as pure agony tore through him for doing so.

If this were a fairy tale, this would be the point where something magical happens. Where something within him would shine, and he would be able to push past the limits of what he was physically capable of doing. To unleash a physically impossibly "one million percent" attack.

Sadly, life is not a fairy tale.

Izuku spat at Endeavor.

King scowled and kicked him, sending the boy rolling into a corner.

Izuku's mind ran. Entropy worked as a suppressant, it was useless against quirks that weren't ability based- mainly mutant quirks. Endeavor's fire resistance must have been a physical part of his skin! It was the only way he could have survived that explosion.

He glanced around him, tears threatening to spill, desperation gripping him as Endeavor's heavy limping steps grew ever closer.

His machinery was fried, all the Entropy must have been blown away by the blast, all his nomu and experiments were gone as well.

The steps stopped.

Izuku's eyes widened. He was out of options and out of time.

Heat blossomed behind him.

"Fuck you…" Izuku coughed out.

"No thanks." King scoffed, reaching out his good hand with a pitiful amount of fire.

A screech tore through the tunnel, and he froze, hesitating for a second that saved Izuku's life, as a charred form crashed into the Hero.

The rescue part, finally being snapped out of their trance, jumped down into the hole. Of the four of them, one ran to help Endeavor, and one went to secure the Villain, as the others were beset by the surviving fire resistant nomu.

The pro Hero Burnin let out a shout of surprise, and jumped to the side as the rubble beneath her exploded to reveal a massive lizard that was rapidly regenerating. She threw a ball of fire at it, but had to jump aside again as the fire bounced off its new red tinted scales harmlessly. It charged right past her and lept at the wall, clawing its way out to the top and out of the opening.

Another pro Hero whistled as he watched the lizard go. "Man, that's one Hard to Destroy Reptile." Before turning back to look at Izuku with a wince. "All right buddy, let's get you in some cuffs. You probably won't be needing them for long, but it's standard operating procedu-"

His head snapped to the side as a bullet tore through his cranium, and he toppled to the floor.

"KID!"

Izuku's vision was filled with the concerned face of Ujiko as the doctor rushed to his side, holding the smoking gun that he always carried in his coat. (Which apparently had a built-in silencer, huh, neat.)

"Hold on Kiddo!" The doctor said in a panic as he stabbed something into Izuku's shoulder that caused the pain to rapidly begin to fade. "I'm getting you out of here!"

Loud shouts gave the signal that the rest of the Heroes in the room dealt with the remains of the nomus, and had finally noticed that their companion was dead.

But as Ujiko carefully lifted Izuku's limp form, a black portal enveloped them.

And as soon as it was there, it was gone. Leaving no trace of the Villains.

-Chapter End-

OMAKE (because it's popular and I've never done one.)

"Come on Izuku, what were you thinking!" Ujiko scolded Izuku as he laid the boy on a lab table.

"It wasn't raining kiddo! It wasn't raining! Of course you weren't gonna win when it wasn't even raining!"

"Uh, boss…" Yuyara sweatdropped from the sideline. "You know the Green's unconscious right? He can't hear you."

"IT WASN'T RAINING YUYARA!" Ujiko howled.
