-Breaking Point: Ch 1-
Izuku was ecstatic! Ever since he had accepted the doctor's offer, and officially became his successor, it’d been almost as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders! Instead of chasing an old dream that he wasn't even sure that he wanted anymore, pushing himself to half way dead, he was finally back to doing something he had passion for!
He was back to trying to solve his question!
He was researching quirks again!
Well, that was what he was doing in his free time at least. Ujiko had assigned him to begin researching the interactions of quirks in nomus. Both to see if they could find a way around Quirk Rejection, and to see if it was possible to give Nomu quirks after they were already made.
"It's the main reason this lab was built after all!" Ujiko had said with a cheery smile.
Given full authority over an entire wing of the lab, researching something that he had a great passion for, while also being in a constructive environment that he felt at home in.
Izuku could say with full honesty that this was the first time he'd been happy, truly happy, in a long time.
And it was all thanks to Dr Ujiko! The man that had helped him finally move on from his childhood.
…
..
.
Unfortunately for the young boy, there were forces at play that he couldn't have possibly known of, and that happiness… that precious happiness, was about to be stolen before it even had a chance to truly set in.
In a dark room, far beneath Tokyo, All For One contacted Dr Ujiko, and gave him a proposition… one that the horrified doctor wasn't allowed to refuse.

*The Next Day*
The wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round, 'round and 'round, 'round and 'round~
The wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round, all through the town!~
It was boring, monotonous. That was what Momo had come to expect from her past experiences on bus rides. Oh she never rode the bus to school mind you, but occasionally they went on school trips and offered buses if the parents were too busy to drive their kid around in the middle of the day.
The few occasions that she had been on her school's buses, it had been a rather disappointing experience. Everyone got their own cushioned seat, and sat in silence on their phones. There was little to no chatter, and the only thing Momo had done the entire time was stare out the window and watch the scenery pass by, singing that old children's song in her head.
The wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round, 'round and 'round, 'round and 'round~
Now obviously she had expected there to be some differences between the buses at her old school, and this one. Partially due to her old school being a private school, and partially due to UA being, well, UA! But she hadn't imagined it would be like this!
Mina and Toru were chatting back and forth about hero costumes.
Jiro and Tokoyami were in a heated debate over which heavy rock band was better.
Aoyama was "sparkling" in the corner. (Or whatever it was he did)
Ibara and Toderoki were having a muted discussion about hero agencies.
And "The Bro's", as they called themselves, of Kirishima and Kaminari were laughing their asses off at Mineta's attempt to be 'suave' and seduce the girls.
It was loud, it was boisterous, it was chaos!
But while the logical side of her mind told her she should be affronted, she absolutely loved it! Of course she wasn't entirely sure why she liked it so much, but she was almost certain it had to do with just how alive it all felt.
...of course, she couldn't say she loved all of it.
"You'd better be planning up some really fucking good plans, because unless you pull out the same level of bullshit you did before, I'm gonna destroy you at the USJ!"
Momo sighed and glanced at her class vice president, and self proclaimed rival, Katsuki Bakugo. He had taken her standing up to him on the first day as some form of challenge, which to an extent it was, but he had also apparently taken it as some form of declaration of rivalry from her. Now while there wasn't anything wrong with some friendly competition, the problem was that he wouldn't let it go!
Who did better on the practicals? Who got the higher score on a quiz? Who was first to class!
He had gloated to her about beating her to class!
AND IT HADN'T EVEN BEEN A WEEK!
His sheer competitiveness was driving her up a wall!
AND IDA MADE THEM SIT TOGETHER ON THE FUCKING BUS!
ahem.
She'd just have to continue to do what she'd been doing all week, keep her composure, and respond with the dignity a lady of her stature should have.
"I am fully confident in my abilities," She said, staring straight ahead, "And I am sure that we will all perform admirably at the USJ facility."
"Psssh, you sure as hell didn't sound 'fully confident' when I had to save your fat ass yesterday!"
"H-Hey!" Momo promptly forgot 'proper' behavior, and slapped him in the arm. Blushing a deep red, partially because of his comment about her rear, and partially in embarrassment as she remembered the previous day's events.

*flashback*
Momo was panicking, just earlier that day they've been having elections to see who the class president would be, and, to Bakugo's annoyance, Momo had won by a landslide. Unfortunately no one had gained enough votes to be vice-president, so they decided to reconvene after lunch, but that wasn't important right now.
By voting for her, her classmates had said they trusted her, trusted her ability to handle situations and to represent the class to her best ability. They had said that they believed in her judgment, and believed she was the best possible choice to lead her class in any crisis situation.
Well she certainly didn't FEEL like the best choice right now!
Smushed up against the cafeteria window, Momo had managed to identify that it was just the press, not any Villains, but was unable to free herself from the crowd of panicking students. The crisis alarm had sounded, and all the students had panicked and all ran as fast as they could to the nearest exit, dragging her along with them in their rush.
"Please! Get off me, you'r- AHH!" Momo winced in pain as her leg was bent in a way it shouldn't have been able to "Please, everyone calm down! It's just the press! Please! I-I need to-"
But before she could finish, something grabbed around her arm tightly and yanked her backwards, pulling her roughly through the crowd until she was deposited onto a table. Spinning in anger, she came face to face with-
"Bakugo!?"
"Hey Po-uh- Momo! Gimme a megaphone!"
"Wha?" She stared at him in bewilderment.
"Megaphone! One of the really fucking loud things!" He snapped his fingers in her face "Give me one!"
"Oh!" Understanding dawned on her as she quickly recalled the necessary atomic makeup of the materials, and raised her shirt to activate her quirk.
"H-HEY!" Bakugo barked with a blush as he looked away, grabbing her shirt and pulling it back down. "What the fuck are you doing!?"
"Using my quirk." She smacked his hand away and raised her shirt again to expose her belly.
"I have to have skin exposed so it doesn't get caught under my clothes!" She huffed and, with a flash of glittery light, she tossed him a brand new megaphone.
"It's not a villain attack by the way," She told him as he caught it, "The press broke past the main gate and tripped the alarm."
Bakugo held the device in one hand, not liking at all the fact that it was still warm. But he nodded at her words, and sneered as they registered in his head. "Fucking extras, can't even do their damn job right!"
After turning the device over once or twice, he raised it to his mouth… and then raised his other hand in the air.
The entire cafeteria spun around in terror as a huge FUCKING explosion shook the entire building, freezing as they saw the furious looking blonde standing tall on a table.
"LISTEN UP ALL YOU FUCKING IDIOTS!" He yelled through the megaphone "I THOUGHT YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE FUCKING HEROES! STOP RUNNING AROUND LIKE CHICKENS WITH YOUR FUCKING HEADS CUT OFF! IT'S NOT EVEN AN ATTACK, IT'S JUST THE FUCKING MEDIA, SO GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER, OR I'LL KILL YOU BEFORE ANY DAMN VILLAIN GET'S THE CHANCE TO!"
*flashback end*
Bakugo had been voted as vice president later that day, and had gloated that it was only a matter of time before he "took her fucking job as well". A statement she had smugly noticed he'd stopped shouting when she introduced him to the wonders of paperwork.
It was nice to have the doofus be put in his place every once and awhile…
… oh dear God, please don't tell her, his stupid over competitiveness was rubbing off on her!
Shaking her head, Momo pushed those worrying thoughts from her mind, and stood from her seat as the bus arrived at its destination. Pushing past, and shutting up, a still bragging Bakugo, as she dragged him to the front to take role as everyone exited the bus, and do other 'student president' stuff.
The USJ would be easy, she had to deal with Bakugo and Mineta on a daily basis, nothing the teachers put in here could be any more psychologically challenging than that.
…
That statement would be challenged, after literally not even three steps into the building.
Momo stared down the stairs in front of her as Aizawa devolved into a vicious melee with the large group of villains.
Luckily most of them were just two bit thugs, but there were a few that could hold their own for a while- most concerning of which, was the leader of the small army, some guy with chopped off hands all over him.
While Aizawa could have easily taken him in a one on one, the constant swarm of crooks and gangsters meant that the Hero had to continuously be moving his quirk from person to person, which meant that he couldn't nullify the leaders quirk all the time. And while that might not be such a big deal for a normal enemy, when your opponent has a disintegration quirk, it only takes one sneaky blow to deal massive damage.
...which several deep wounds on Aizawa's back could attest to.
"Fucking Bastard! I'LL KILL HIM!" Bakugo roared as he leapt forward.
"No!" Momo shouted as she grabbed the blond by the arm, and pulled him back, "Aizawa is a pro Hero! He's trained to deal with situations like this! We're Not! We'll just get in his way, the best thing for us to do is get back to U.A. and get the other teachers!"
"It's the best way we can help." She gave him a weak smile as he stopped struggling and gave her a glare, understanding her logic, but still not liking it.
"An Astute observation young one!" Kurogiri chuckled as he appeared behind them, causing the whole class to jump in fear. "But unfortunately, you won't be going anywhere… well, not anywhere of importance at least."
"You're not going to lay a finger on them!"
Kurogiri’s attention shifted from the students to their caretaker, as Thirteen ran forward, shielding the class behind herself.
But Momo didn't manage to catch what happened next between the pro and the villain, because as soon as the mist man was distracted by Thirteen, with his eyes off them; Bakugo took his shot, and lunged for him.
Unfortunately this had the side effect of dragging Momo, who was still holding onto his arm, along with him. And unfortunately(x2), the unexpected extra weight on his right side, caused Bakugo to miss, drawing all attention to them, and giving the Villain an obvious opportunity to counter attack.
'Well,' Momo tried to cheer herself up as the purple/black mist rushed at them from all sides. 'At least this can't get much worse.'
Unfortunatly(x3), this was the single worst thing she could have thought to herself.
-Rain of Sins-
Izuku hummed to himself as he patted himself over one last time to make sure he had everything he needed for the trip.
Dr Ujiko had messaged him this morning about an urgent assignment, which was a bit odd since the good doctor always either gave these out face to face, or extremely rarely by video call. He liked to see people when telling them important things.
Further adding to the oddness, was the overly formal vocabulary used in the text. Ujiko never called him "Midoriya", it was always "Kid", "Izuku" or occasionally "IMBECILE!" when Izuku did something really stupid, like setting a room on fire. But this just contributed to Izuku's theory that he must have just been abnormally busy today, the old scientist worked in strange ways after all.
The assignment was simple: take the big Nomu that he and Izuku had been working on, and escort it to a different facility for some specialized tests.
A teleporter would be arriving shortly to transport them, but Izuku needed to be there, both to keep the Nomu in line, and to provide his input during the test procedures at the lab.
It would have been useful if Ujiko had told him what type of tests they would be running, so he could take exactly what he needed, instead of bogging himself down with everything he could.
Well… it wasn't really himself that was bogged down, he had thrown a bunch of bags together with the really heavy stuff, and made Jeremy carry them.
Yes, Jeremy. It was what He and Yuyara had jokenly taken to calling the terrifying Nomu.
...Don't let Ujiko know they were calling his "Masterpiece" that… Actually there were a lot of things they probably shouldn't tell Ujiko, like the fact they occasionally fed "Jeremy" table scraps, or that he really liked sugared strawberries.
“You ready to go boy?” Izuku asked rhetorically as he rummaged through the bag, not really expecting any real answer.
“Mlelm.” The terrifying beast made a very not terrifying sound as it’s tongue flicked out and snatched another strawberry from the tray.
Izuku chuckled and closed the last bag after confirming everything was in order, letting himself relax. Now all he had to do was wait- and apparently not even for that long!
"Mr Kurogiri!" Izuku cheered as the mist man teleported into the room. "It's been so long! I almost didn't recognize you!"
"Ah, Mr Midoriya," The mist hummed after raking his brain for a name. "It has been awhile, hasn't it? It's good to see you again. Sorry for being late, I haven't been feeling very well recently, and it's been affecting my quirk. My teleportations have recently been a bit off target."
"Oh don't worry!" Izuku said with a laugh and a smile. "What's the worst that could go wrong?"
Unfortunatly(x4), this was, in fact, the single worst thing Izuku could have possibly said. And unknown to the young man, Kurogiri would drop him exactly on target.
