Author Note
Hello, all you wonderful people with far too much time on your hands. I decided to attempt to write a novel. this chapter was a short intro to the game and next chapter will be a brief look into Alex's father.
PS: My grammar is undoubtedly terrible and as such, any advice or comments on things I screwed up are always appreciated. I will, however, ignore anyone who complains without giving constructive criticism.
Raestta Online was created by Divinity Entertainment in 2059 Google ha
s gained complete control of the internet and digital privacy has become a joke. People can determine the level of privacy they want whenever they want, the question is why would you limit anything? DE partnered with Google to understand its players and over the last 5 years have released a series of games leading up to Raestta Online. Evolution was a game which focused on letting a player evolve and create cool creatures while Arefact was a game that let you go into a complex design suite to create a variety of equipment. Lastly was Council in which players could work with two AI to improve civilization.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
This year DE said they were releasing a game which combined the work they had done on all of these games into one, Raestta Online. While not the first VRMMO nor the first high realism option players were jumping to see what kind of game DE had created especially since they were using an odd business model. The game itself was free however character death was permanent, a variety of game systems let you preserve items and such but the only cost of the game outside the obvious cosmetics was a charge for new characters. Players could have an unlimited number but each soul associated with their account cost 1$ + the number of graves in the account. Players were told the game would be releasing features as the game progressed and that much of the early game would be rough. As a result, anyone who pre-purchased the game was given 5 character souls free of charge.
In addition, DE had told players that the game world would recognize them for their achievements none of that everyone is the hero bs. They claimed that players could end up as kings, villans or even average citizens. They also explained that the game world would constantly change and that while they would be releasing new content and balance patches the primary content of the game would be in existence from release. Lastly, they warned players that actions would have consequences as the game world was designed with a concept of permanency.
