”Ms. Perdita?” He calls out.

Perdita Collins, A young Woman born April 14th 1963. She her self was a foster child wanted to see another child thrive and be out in the world. She heard about Tristen and related with him in the fact he didn’t like the houses he has been in or the people he has been with. Lost in her own little world staring off at the car parked at the end of her driveway, she can see the young boy Tristen sitting with his head down.

”Ms. Perdita.” He calls repeats. Snapping out of it she looks back at the man.

“I am so sorry. Yes, I am Twenty-Eight.” She says as she glance back over at the car, catching Tristen looking over at her before he ducks his head back down.

”Alright well, we have everything all set here. You do know about the money correct, to help?”

”Yes yes the money. I don’t care about the money personally I am well off, Its just the child I care about, I want him to feel safe.” She states while smiling. The agent smiles back.

“I understand, It is government issued so we have no say in the matter. I do believe you will be perfect for him. Let’s go say hello shall we?”

The walk to the car felt like it was the longest walk she has ever taken. The thought that the child just beyond the door will be in her hands in just a few moments hit her like harder than she could ever thought, but not in a bad way. The door opens to a little dark hard child slowly lifting his head up to look. He looks at her with sadness but seconds later when he looked in her eyes he saw something in her that he saw in him self. A rush went over him and he didn’t know what to think. Something familiar…safe.

“Hello, I hear it’s someone’s sixth birthday today.” Tristen Slowly nods his head.

”Well it’s a good Thing I have a big cake just waiting inside with your name written on it. What do you say we go in and have some huh?”
