Chapter 63

After using the teleportation portal along with Monalisa, Shad appeared on top of one of the highest mountain within the valley of death. From there, he could see everything down below.

He was able to see the Lightning Corps that were making their way to cross the valley as well as the hundreds of bandits that surrounded the valley with crossbows, swords spears and other kinds of weapons in their hands.

When Shad was inside the carriage with the old man named Cao, He had released his spiritual force to scan the area which had allowed him to get a grasp of the enemies' strength. His spiritual force was very strong and was able to cover a huge amount of land.

Because none of the bandits knew how to hide their qi or their magic power. Shad was able to sense their individual's strength as well. Even though he was joking with the old man, he didn't forget his main purpose for coming here.

Half of the bandits were just regular fighters with no battle qi whatsoever, they might have learned some martial arts or swordsmanship but half of them couldn't use battle qi which will make things easier for the Lightning Corps.

As for the other half, even though they were warriors who could use battle qi, the strongest of them was a 6th rank warrior and a 5th class mage. With this kind of meager strength, going against the Lightning Corps was like digging their own grave.

Not to mention most the member of the Lightning Corps had been hiding their strengths and their ferocities all along in order to see whether he was qualified to lead them.

Still, the mountain tigers had two advantages over the Lightning Corps. first of all, they knew the terrain very well as they have been operating and robbing people there for years. The valley of death was their home and they knew it inside out.

Second of all, their numbers far surpassed that of the lightning Corps by a huge margin. While there was only a hundred members in the lightning corps plus the four imperial knights, there were more than a thousand bandits within the valley.

The valley of death was very long and the mountains were very big as well. To make matter worst, there were plenty of tall and huge trees on each side of the road which was like a good hiding spot for the bandits. If it wasn't for the fact that Shad's spiritual was able to cover a big chunk of the valley, he would have never found out that there were more people hiding one each side of the valley.

From inside the carriage, he was able to see at least four to five hundred of them but when he used his spiritual forces, their complete force had come to view.

The most interesting thing was that the ones that were hiding were all warriors and a handful of mages. They were the main force and Shad was very certain that they weren't bandits at all.

A 6th rank warrior or a 5th class mage would be treated as an honored guest in any kingdoms within the Egul continent. Even the powerful nobles family within the four empires would cherish them, no matter if it was their last stage and could no longer advance due to their level of innate talents. Especially the mage, being able to break through the 5th class mage meant that he had at least a red level of innate talent.

On top of the mountain, Shad remained on his feet as he gazed at the group of bandits that surrounded the valley. At this moment, he had reverted back his true self. He was very calm and smiling at the same time. In his eyes, not to mention an army of a thousand, even an army of a ten thousands strong would become a common sight for him due to his new discovery.

" Young master, do you think they will be ok." Even though Monalisa was only able to see a portion of the bandits, she was still worried because they were outnumbered. For every member of the Lightning Corps, there were at least six bandits. Which means each member of the lightning corps would have to kill six bandits if they wanted to eradicate the mountain tigers bandit group. This was an unfair and disadvantageous fight.

" They should be. Even though the number of bandits far surpassed the lightning corps, most of them can't even survive a blow from the weakest member of the lightning corps." Answered Shad with certainty. Just because they outnumbered them didn't mean that they were necessarily more powerful than them.

Soon, the Lightning Corps have finally made their way within the heart of the valley of death. Mark along with the other three imperial knights was riding in front while the prince carriage was in the middle.

The hundred of Lightning Corps members were fearlessly following the four imperial knights as they were crossing the valley of the death. Today was the big day for them, it was the day where they will prove themselves to their sole commander just as he did to them.

It was the day where they will show why the protector of the empire had chosen them to be part of this special forces.

Suddenly, the ground started to tremble as if there was an earthquake. Hundreds of mountain tigers bandits descended from the surrounding hills and mountains like a flood bursting a dam.

They seemed to be endless and completely surrounded the Lightning Corps without leaving a single inch unoccupied. They became a great wall that suppressed the whole valley.

From the way they encircled the Lightning Corps, it was impossible for them to get out from their position unless they slaughtered their way out which was almost impossible as they were only a hundred of them while they were more than five hundred of them, not to mention the main force haven't even made their move yet.

After the mountain tigers bandits besieged the Lighting Corps, instead of panicking, they stood there like a huge mountain without making a single move. There was not even a hint of fear in their eyes.

Even though they surrounded the Lightning Corps, they still haven't attacked them yet.

Soon, a scary middle-aged man walked out from them. He had a huge scar on his face which made him look scarier. There was a pair of long swords in his hands.

" My name is Antony and I am the leader of the Moutain Tigers bandit. I requested an audience with 4th imperial prince his highness."

Antony was a 4th rank warrior and was also the leader of the mountain tigers bandit group. He was just a low-level 2nd rank warrior, but after he had become one of the henchmen of the 3rd imperial of the Nicholas empire within the Mulan Kingdom, his cultivation had skyrocketed and the number of people joining his gang increased as well.

Today could be the greatest day of his life. If he successfully completed this mission entrusted to him by the prince, he will be granted a noble title and his own land. Even though he was leading a good life by robbing people, he always wanted to become a noble and have his own legitimate domain. He was a very ambitious man and didn't want to spend the rest his life as the leader of a group of bandits.

For this mission, he had put all of his efforts and covered the whole mountains range with his minions. This was the only route that could be taken to reach the South. This route couldn't be avoided, no matter where one came from, therefore all six hundreds of his group were stationed here since this morning waiting for the arrival of the 4th prince.

He wanted to get all the credit by killing the prince before the main force sent by the 3rd prince get the chance to do so. However, even though he knew that the 4th prince was in that carriage, he couldn't help but felt a little unease which was why he had to make sure he was inside before giving the order to attack them.

Listening to Antony, Mark didn't even bother to answer him. He was here to prove the strength of the Lightning Corps to the 4th imperial prince by killing these evildoers not to socialize.

" Lightning Corps, Get into the dance of madness formation and exterminated every single filthy bandit in front you until none of them remained," He yelled as he unsheathed his sword.

" Begin," Yelled Mark again as he pounced towards Antony like tigers who was about to catch his prey.
