ARC2/C36 - Beginnings
In what had previously been the most sacred inner sanctum of the Order of Seers, Terius Kimvelo, was watching over the proceedings. There would be no eaves dropping from anyone in the multi-verse. Every precaution had been taken and several people had already been killed to ensure this.
And no recordings of any nature whatsoever were to be made. This account of history was to be null and void. The killing of Vores, even in a world without the Order of Seers was not trivial.
If it were found that the Seracians had a hand in quashing the only hope they had against the Vores that was one thing. But if the Korinth Vanguard were displeased and left the alliance that was a real problem. Korpos had personally come to deal with the matter and wanted no knowledge of this deed to be spread.
So Terius Kimvelo, just watched the psi-signatures for the MR that Korpos had entered. The psi-signatures had allowed them to track the comings and goings of the vore with ease. And watch their power spike over the past few days. He would have liked to have given the experiment a bit more time but the Vanguard had been unhappy about the vore, or fake vore as they called them forming alliances with the various factions.
When it appeared they were about to form an alliance with the Antragros, their greatest enemy. The Vanguard decided things had gone too far. More power in the hands of the Antragros was indeed a dangerous thing. Even he could hope to win in a war of attrition against their forces.
Terius had been impressed when he learnt of the power of the MR. The Seers were indeed fools with such power at their fingertips they could have created limitless armies to crush their foes. But no, they kept to their dogmatic rules and that was the end of them. Well he would not make the same mistakes. As soon as the Vanguard was appeased he would test out its powers against those who would not bow down before him.
And then once the war was won, he would when the time was right of course use it against the accursed Vanguard.
The psi-signature blinked out of existence. Terius felt his shoulders drop, tension being released that he hadn’t noticed he had. He configured the MR closing it and allowing Korpos to return. It did not do to keep him waiting, jubilant though he may be. Terius new how quickly his mood could change.
Korpos, appeared within the chamber, a look of bewildered shock on his gaunt face. Then it was very quickly replaced with rage. Terius had been right.

Sam floated in a vast void. A tranquil void. Death wasn’t so bad. It was the guilt that did for you, felt Sam. He had tried his best but had failed completely. And what had happened at the end. He had been squashed like a fly, no a bug on Korpos’ boot.
In the void, he had no body that he could discern. There were no sensation where his body should be. He just was. Death was kind of interesting. And not painful at all which he also liked. He looked around half heartedly thinking maybe there would be spirits of the afterlife or at least something.
But there was nothing. Even with his incredibly high perception, no wait his perception, no everything seemed to be normal. His previously heightened thought speed also was back to its relatively slow speed.
It was very hard to judge time as nothing seemed to happen. And Sam just hung there in the nothingness being nothing himself also.

How could he but something but have no form? How could he take up no space at all?
Before he had time to ask anymore unanswerable questions he heard a noise. In the silence it felt ominous. It was a strange juddering noise that came from everywhere.
Then shapes started to form out of the nothingness, condensing like cloud formations in the dark void.
----
Outside the MR the Antragros faction members were gathered around in formation. They had increased their numbers when they had seen the psi-energy spike in the MR. After failing to enter the MR they had raised the security level and called for more troops. And were now prepared as best they could, around the perimeter, in readiness for whatever was about to exit, to invade their world.
What came out was a person sized, large mass. It looked a bit like a spherical space pod, or something. Regardless of what it was, they started attacking.
Abilties rained down on the entity but seemed to have no discernable effect. Unless of course they had killed it in one wave of attacks. This was doubtfull however due to the strong psi-energy measured ealier. Maybe they should regroup. They regrouped and kept watch as the entity continued to do…nothing.

Inside the large cocoon, Traksis also could see nothing much apart from system stuff floating in front of her eyes.
When her [Evolved Fusionism] had activated. She had had no choice but to try and fuse with Sam in order to give her some kind of edge over the being, Korpos. Sam had instructed her to flee in such an eventuality but she knew the reason for that was that at least one of them would be left to protect the others. It had seemed the only course of action available.
But she was probably going to be annihilated anyway.
Before her floated many possible evolutions. Differently shaped entities, some insectoid looking, some human, some a mix of both. There were also stats hovering there too.
She did not have time to decide, even with her intelligence stat boosted through the roof. She expected to be no more at any instance.
Traksis selected the form that was both her and Sam, insectoid and human.
And there she stood looking out, at well over a hundred heavily armed and armoured Antragros troops. Wait, what!? She whirled about. Had she been mind controlled?
Behind her was the entrance to the MR.
Attacks started to rain down on her from all around. But none touched her [Automatic Self-Preservation] acting passively. Which was just as well as Traksis was finding it hard to adapt to her new body. Only two legs was a strange concept, also. So she allowed herself to be directed, as she thought about the situation before her.
In a world where, mind control was often a trump card used it was very hard for her to discern whether this was real or not. Whatever was going on Traksis was in shock, and knew it. She tried to use [Mind Dominion] on herself to calm herself down.
Having flown at least 200 miles away, she finally calmed down.

Looking at all the abilities just gave a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach.
And of course she noted that her strand showed now as Triple Hybrid Core. Had she fused with the entity as well. No, no she would have had to have selected him and also no strange abilities listed.
The thought that she had unnecessarily killed Sam, bit into her, like an icy breeze. Then she felt it. Again.
The entity. Korpos.
