ARC1/C26 – Revelations
When Sam came to he didn’t know how long he had been out for all he knew was pain. It felt like the right side of his body was burnt off and he lay limply on the hard cold ground, a cacophonous ringing in his ears.
Sam’s first thought was for Sarah and Maria, so he activated [Flight] and floated up above the ground but looking up at the sky from his position, it was hard to tell what the state of the Seracian forces was or anything else for that matter. As the sky was full of dark smoke blocking his vision.
His Psi-barrier was completely gone, so while he flew, he started to regenerate a protective layer around himself. Spotting some humans, on the ground near to some trucks, he flew down quickly. It was some of the people from his group. Questioning them he found it was indeed his party and relief flooded his system.
Finding his sister and the others were safe nearby, all strength left him and he collapsed down by the others huddled in one of the trucks.
It turned out that all the Seracian forces in the area had apparently self destructed and his group had only been saved by the fact that Sam had managed to draw the Seracians away sufficiently.
Sam didn’t feel right at all, he was sure some ribs and other things were broken but with no healer. Was that even a thing? He would just have to rest as best he could.
Hiroma had tried to get through the Mirror Realm but for some unknown reason it was still blocked. Maybe by the Seracians? They could get no intel, in or out so nobody knew.

In the Mirror Realm, Traksis was still battling for her life. Thankfully she still seemed to have the upper hand as her attackers clearly had not expected her to manage to breakout of their mind control. The truth was she hadn’t. She had just killed the person who was mind controlling her, therefore stopping the ability.
The attackers’ builds were clearly a real mismatch for one such as Traksis. Her extreme speed now she had levelled (despite her size increase) combined with the almost one shot kill ability of [Absorbing Regeneration].
She would use [Energy Drain] which had a greater range to slow her opponents by weakening them then use [Absorbing Regeneration] at close range to finish them off. And with stealth they seemed unable to easily target her for any mental attacks.
They all fell and as they did Traksis felt a surge of power.

Soon there were no foes left to kill but on reaching her to comrades, she found one was clearly dead. It was the one called Bartholomew that she had tried to save. Clearly the mind attack had weakened him further leading to his demise. She had failed again. Sam would not be happy with her.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
Maybe she could still save the other one, Lopez. Otherwise all her fighting and the risking of her own life had been for nothing. But on reaching a Mirror Realm exit she found herself unable to leave.
Behind her more soldiers were entering the space. Then she saw the Mirror Realm itself behind her warp into a much smaller space. All that was left was a room sized cuboid of white, leaving no room to evade the soldiers there in. So she attacked all.
For some reason her attackers were shouting something about her being a “Vore” and that they did not want to kill her. If they didn’t want to kill her Traksis thought, this was fine by her. But she would kill every one of them.
---
Terius Kimvelo did not know how it had happened, but evidently someone had let the cat out of the bag, metaphorically speaking and the Order of Seers clearly had woken up to the fact that their was a “Vore” on the loose. Leaving his plans of secretly sneaking the vore away in tatters.
He decided this would simply mean that plans had to be brought forward and that the Order of Seers which had long since lost their grip on the multi-verse would have to be usurped.
They had also had the audacity to halt the movement of his troops, on the planet Earth.
Previously he would have merely assassinated some of the top brass in the Order or done some political manoeuvring to have them ousted effectively from power.
But now, he decided to show them some special attention. They thought they could stop his troops, well he would show them how displeased he was up close and personal.
Sending the necessary communications to all of his senior generals stationed nearby to take over all planets held by the Order and seize all their facilities. He sat back in his chair, smiling, waiting to hear of this first stages completion.

On the horizon loomed yet again the full force of the Seracian army, this time however Sam had no where to hide. They were coming in all directions and again he was unable to protect his group and attack at the same time.
They were all holed up right next to the exit to the Mirror Realm in the hope that it would open up again allowing them to escape this hellscape.
It was at this point that a large flying beast followed shortly after by Lopez. Did in fact, exit the Mirror Realm.
It was Traksis. What the hell had happened to her, Sam did not know. He was just glad to see the Mirror Realm might be working again and ran along with the others towards the entrance.
The munitions and everything else in the vehicles were left as they all just ran frantically into the Mirror Realm.
Back at the resistance base in the Seracian desert they were met by many scared looking faces. Reaching the council chamber meeting hall, they briefed Velta and the resistance council members of what had happened. They were then informed that Velta had forseen that the Order of Seers would shortly fall. This meant now no place would be safe for anyone not aligned directly with the Seracians, who had declared war.
Also that Earth was to be destroyed within the next hour. At this point despite his injuries, Sam had be restrained by Sarah and Maria. As, they knew it would be a suicide mission.
Velta told Sam they could not keep him there against his will and that if he wanted to leave with his party this would probably be the best time before war was officially declared and fighting broke out everywhere.
Sam agreed with this proposal and left with all that would go with him, for the biggest neutral world, with bountiful resources to help them survive. No planet was far from the Seracians, now they would control the Mirror Realm.
Before Sam left, Hiroma told him that some more intel had arrived with the resistance. Apparently when the Order’s headquarters head quarters were under attack they had managed to break into some of the inner most vaults and retrieve information on the Order’s projects and experimentation in the Mirror Realm.
Velta informed Sam that they had found out why his powers were only boosted while he was in the Mirror Realm. The Order had as he had been told previously been trying to create a vore lifeform but they had also been trying to ensure that when a vore evolved it would be one they could control.
This meant is would be a subspecies that was dependent on the psi-energy that resided within the Mirror Realm. That the Order could control hence controlling the vores produced and making them dependent on the Order.
This explain a lot. It didn’t explain what Traksis had told him of her evolution though, as to Sam it was quite clear that she was now also a vore, due to her ability to vastly increase her powers while in the Mirror Realm.
After hearing this Sam was kind of pleased that the Order was no more, or shortly would be no more. He didn’t fancy himself or Traksis being their playthings or being experimented upon.
Sam had been shocked by the imminent extinction of Earth but he knew in this new multi-verse everything was determined by your strength. Anything and anybody that was weak was simply crushed or used. These thoughts merely caused Sam’s resolve to go stronger. To solidify.
And now just maybe, if he could figure out what had happened to Traksis. He could build his own vore army to take on the Seracians.
