Today is, or well was supposed to be the perfect day for Charlette Blue. The Year is 2001, Nine months into her pregnancy she is finally giving birth. Not wanting to know what the baby looks like or what gender it is, she was willing to accept whatever she was given in her life as her own.

Sure as gold her baby boy was brought to her swaddled in a Blanket, almost looking normal for a second. The only thing is he has four eyes that are closed at the time, four nostrils but no nose four ear holes but not lobes, a single mouth but two tongues, and rows of teeth like sharks but human. Inside the swaddle, he also has four arms and four legs. She and the doctor look at each other.

"We do have pamphlets if you do decide it's too much of a burden for you to handle, it is not uncommon for parents that don't think they can handle a responsibility with a child of disabilities."

"Double..." Charlette says quietly.

"I beg your pardon?"

"Double, your name is Double, you are my responsibility and nobody else's."

"Will there be a father in the picture?"

"There is no Father..." Double's eyes open with the bottom row looking like human eyes and the top opened with slits like a cat that dilated shut fast showing a bright blue look throughout. She looks down at Double's deep blue eyes.
