Chapter 9: The Transfer

Jenny and Machi approached the Prison Concierge, their anticipation palpable as they presented the TG1 key. The concierge, a stern figure with an air of authority, scrutinized the key before nodding in acknowledgment.

With a resounding click, the heavy iron gate leading to the C1 level swung open, beckoning them forward. Eager to embrace the unknown challenges that awaited, they stepped through the gateway.

However, their arrival was met with an unexpected interruption. A bubble bullet grazed Machi's cheek, leaving a moist trail behind. Startled, they turned to face their assailant.

It was Edon, the mad scientist, known for his mastery over the pressure of bubbles. A member of the notorious Three Quartz Pillars, his presence raised both caution and intrigue. But Edon seemed lost in his own thoughts, oblivious to their arrival.

Jenny's instincts surged, her fiery nature yearning to retaliate against this unprovoked attack. Machi, however, remained calm, his gaze fixed upon Edon's distracted figure.

"Stay your hand, Jenny," Machi whispered, his voice steady amidst the tension. "Edon is not even aware of our presence."

Reluctantly, Jenny suppressed her desire to engage in combat, deferring to Machi's wisdom. They watched as Edon mumbled incomprehensible words, seemingly lost in a world of his own creation.

Soon, their attention shifted as guards approached, escorting them to their new cell within the C1 level.

Locked within the confines of their new cell, exhaustion from their eventful journey began to weigh upon them. Thoughts of Edon's inexplicable presence stirred their curiosity. Why was he found in the lower depths of the prison? What role did he play in their quest for freedom?

The weariness in their bones compelled them to seek solace in sleep, allowing the night to enshroud them in tranquility. Dreams and questions danced in their minds, mingling with the uncertainty of their circumstances.

At dawn a familiar alarm echoed throughout, they were roused from their slumber. A voice echoed through the corridor, summoning them to the cafeteria for breakfast. Wearily, they rose, their bodies aching but their spirits unyielding.

As they made their way to the cafeteria, Jenny and Machi couldn't help but ponder the enigma that was Edon. What secrets lay hidden within his scattered thoughts? What motives drove him to this depth of the prison?
