Chapter 1: Soulaura

Knock Knock! The sound of someone knocking the door could be heard. "Master wake up! It's time for breakfast." said a woman wearing a maid dress. "I am there soon, let me change clothes." said a young man with black hair.

His name is Alfred Venture. The commander of a group called "Aegis". There are only 10 people in the Aegis. Alfred is one the five strongest beings in the entire empire of Rantheus. His soulaura already reached the level of an Emperor..

Everyone born in this world had a thing called "soulaura". There are 10 levels of "aura": basic,advance,very advanced,master,grand master,general, great general, ultimate, king and emperor.

Each level has a unique characteristic except basic soulaura. Advance soulaura allow you to learn tier 1 spells and skills. Very advanced aura allow you to perform a doublejump. Master soulaura allow you to walk on water. Grand master soulaura allow you to learn tier 2 spells and skills. General soulaura allow you to learn tier 3 spells and techniques. Great general soulaura allow you to use "Relics". Ultimate Soulaura allow to learn ancient and spells and skills. King soulaura allow you use legendary relics. And finally if you reaching the level of an emperor you will learn an unique skill or spell.

The other 9 members of aegis have reached the Ultimate level. Each one of them has their own mini-army and a mansion in the captital.

Alfred is eating his breakfast slowly. A mansion guard appeared and said "Master venture, there is someone outside to see you. It's a messenger from the emperor."

"Tell him to wait, I will go after finishing my meal." said Alfred to his mansion guard. After finishing his breakfast, Alfred walks outside his mansion, he uses his two vinger to whistly his dragon.

A huge dragon appeared. The dragon is twenty meters tall and has a majestic appearance. His name is Fenrir and he get it as gift after fighting the dragon emperor.

The fight with the dragon emperor is six months ago. But the story has already spread throughout the entire Rantheus. The fact that Alfred manages to fight someone with a emperor level and survived. He not only survived but he manage to fight a draw with the dragon emperor. Everyone is amazed how such young man manage to fight the dragon emperor evenly. Especially when he hasn't reached the age of twenty two yet. People love heroes, especially young,heroic and handesome ones like Alfred.

It's no secret that Alfred has the second most influence after the emperor in the entire country.

Mounting the dragon Alfred is flying to the palace. After landing on a empty spot in the palace. Alfred strolls towards the inner gates of palace. "Ah commander Venture!"The guards are greeting him. Alfred salutes back and walks towards the meeting room.

The meeting room is in the back of the palace where two guard towers are standing.

"Hey Alfred, wait for me!" A man appeared in the sky and he landed in front of Alfred.

"Ah it's you Lexus. You are summoned by the highness too?" Lexus was one of the nine members of the aegis. He is originally the commander of aegis before Alfred joined.

Together they entered the meeting room. In the meeting room stood a man. He has blond hair and a beard. He is the emperor of Kherdan.

His soulaura level is actually low, the reason for someone like him is an emperor is because his ancestors is extremly wealthy. They are not only wealthy but they possessed several relics and black glyphs where ancient skills and spells are recorded on. Those items are only lended to loyal soldiers of the empire.

There are actually five emperors in Rantheus. Each one has their own country and influence. In the north we got the sword emperor Caesar. The country is called Merton and is the biggest weapon producing country in the Rantheus.

In the west we got country building airships and is the most technologocially advanced country. The sky emperor Ner build an entire city floating on the sky.

In the south we the got dragon emperor Vizar . The country is surrounded by mountains and a desert. All the dragons is coming from the south.

In east we got the forest empress Aris. It's rumored she is the most beautiful woman in the entire Rantheus. The country itself is a big forest surrounded by mother nature.

And finally in the centre of Rantheus is where Kherdan is located. The capital and the biggest country of Rantheus.

"Ah you two are finally here" said the emperor. "Your highness, what is going on? It's seems like an urgency since the messenger said we need to come as soon as possible" said Alfred.

I have 2 pieces of news good and bad. Which one do you prefer to listen first?

Euhm, the good news first. The emperor revealing a smile and said "the good news is that I already decided that I betroth my youngest daughter to you.

"WHAT?" Alfred reacted shockingly and answered "The princess is too good for a commoner like me and beside I only meet her five times in my whole life . How can she develop feelings for me?" He peaked at the face of Lexus because he knows the third princess and him are childhood friends. His face looked a little angry and in shock.

"That old man is willing sacrifice his own daughter for my loyalty. He is scared of me because my power and influence are growing everyday. I don't have the ambitions to be an emperor or anything. I just want to...."

Alfred, I know this is one of a lifetime decision for you. Please think about I have no sons and if you become my son-in-law you will become the next emperor. I am not forcing you to decide now, you can decide after you finish the mission. Also my daughter really has a deep crush for you.

Give me more time to think your highness. So what is the bad news?

The bad news is that the darkside started a invasion on Feri.

Feri is the name of the forest country. The dark side or Venas is on the opposite side of Feri. There are constantly conflicts between them. This is the first time that a full invasion happend.

"What is the status of enemy?" asked Lexus. The scouts from Feli said they have about one million soldiers. There are some soldiers with an ultimate soulaura. There are demons,monsters,wyverns and other creatures attacking too. It seems like the demon emperor is controlling them. So their total unit is maybe about over 2 million.

I want you two hold them off for ten days.I already send messages to the other countries reinforcement will come soon. I will send fifty thousand of our best soldiers to accompany you two.

"You obviously send us two on a suicide mission. Since you marriage plan doesn't work. There are about fifteen thousand soldier with a master soulaura. The rest are below this level." thought Alfred.

"Can we get more aegis members on our team? Four members of aegis is enough to protect your highness" Alfred asked.

"Yes of course, do you need something else?" I want you to lend two legendary relics to me.

The bloodmoon sword and the astral armor. I don't need anything else.

I get your items delivered by tomorrow. You should depart tomorrow evening.

"Father! You shouldn't push Alfred and Lexus so hard." A person appeared interrupting the conversation.

It's Illy the daughter of the emperor. She has long blond hair and brown eye and he is wearing a light blue gown.

Ah Illy, you are here! Come over here. Isn't my daughter beautiful and a good match for you Alfred? The princess is a real beauty , but can I have a moment to speak privately with the princess?

"Yes ofcourse , go on" responded the emperor.

Alfred takes Illy to the corner of the meeting room. They are about 30 meters distances away of the emperor and Lexus who is looking at them intently.

I want to talk with you about the marriage. Is that your own request or your father?

"It's my own!" shouted Illy. "I always have liked you since the first meeting. You are charming and I always feel special when I am with you."

"She is indeed beautiful, but how can I love her? My heart already belongs to..." Princess I thought you and Lexus are childhood friends. You don't have feelings for him? I actually think he is a good match for you.

I don't have feelings for him. I only treat him as a brother. The only one I love is you. You don't love me aren't you? Since you speak about Lexus. We can always learn more about each other. So why don't we go on a date after you finish you mission?

Her lips is tremble slightly and she was on the verge of tears. "Oh shit, she is going to cry. Should I promise her a date? No i must reject her!" thought Alfred.

I am really sorry princess but i can't promise you anything. Tears are running down her face now. She runs away and left the meeting room.

Lexus walks to Alfred with a murderous aura and punch him in the face. Alfred doesn't want to block. But the difference between them in strength is too high. Lexus breaks his own hand and Alfred doesn't even receive a scratch on his face.

"WHAT HAVE YOU SAYING TO HER?!" shouted Lexus. His hand is bleeding now, but he doesn't care. All he cares about is Illy. He always have loved her,but doesn't dare to confess. He is obviously shocked when the emperor announces the marriage.

"Calm down Lexus and listen to Alfred explanation" said the emperor.

I hurt her, it's all my fault. I have nothing to say.

Lexus looks at him angrily and chases after Illy. Excuse me your highness I am going back to my mansion now. Alfred left the meeting room and summon his dragon. He fly towards the other members of aegis to inform them the mission.

A half day later he arrives back to his mansion,still thinking about the earlier incident.
