5 years later

War raged through the Verdi Kingdom as the royal family tried to escape. a coup forcing them to leave the kingdom their family had called home for the last 2000 years. The king, as well as his wife and lone daughter, were being escorted by a group of 8 guards. They were the only surviving soldiers of the royal guard, the kings personal unit. They made their way to the mountain range 200 kilometers to the south of the kingdom, known as the BlackRidge mountains. This was the most perilous location in the entire Adonai Continent.

They entered the forest, wary of the monstrous beasts that roam these land. Their hearts clenched as their trip seemed a bit too safe. No beasts impeded their journey, which only served to raise their guard. "Its way to quiet" one of the guards said in a hushed voice. "I agree, every time our soldiers entered this mountain range we were ambushed almost instantly, now we've been walking for over 30 minutes and nothing." said another, eyeing the area around them for any activity. They continued walking for another 30 minutes when they finally reached a lake. Although it was called a lake, it looked more like an ocean. It was enormous, however, in the scope of the world it was considered nothing but a drop.

They walked over to the water, seeing if it was safe to drink before refilling their canteens. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" yelled a voice coming from their left. They all looked to the side to see an incredibly strange sight. There was a man with long crimson hair flowing down his black robe, with piercing golden eyes that looked like they could peer into your souls. Next to him was a boy who looked no older than 5, with shoulder length black hair and deep sparkling blue eyes. He was wearing no shirt leaving his childishly skinny upper body uncovered, while his shorts that seemed too big were tied on with a vine. They were sitting on a giant rock, with fishing rods in hand. 

It took the soldiers a while to register what had been said, but when they finally did, most of them showed extreme caution. To be able to fish leisurely in such a location proved how strong this pair truly was. One of the soldiers didn't seem to think of the consequences and spoke out in a rage. "This is his royal majesty, King Richard, you're addressing. Show some respect!" one of the soldiers yelled. An evil grin over took the mans face as he stared at the soldier, he began raising his hand and pointed a finger at the man. Boom. The man exploded and blood flew everywhere, covering the soldiers in the rain. The soldiers jumped at the sight of one of their comrades being killed, yet had no way to explain what had happened to him. The soldiers wanted to move to protect the king, but seemed to have been frozen in place, unable to move a muscle. The man then placed his rod to the side and stood up, staring at the people with a malicious light in his eyes.

"I'm the only king in the BlackRidge Mountains. To claim you're a king, is to challenge my rule. I will gladly take your life" he said as he jumped off the rock and started walking to the group. The king of the forest? As soon as they heard these words, their bodies trembled as they wished they could run. The king simply stared at the man walking towards him with horror in his eyes. He had heard the legends of the might Golden Winged Lion who ruled the Black Ridge Mountains, and how he could change his appearance to that of a man with long crimson hair and golden eyes. He wished he could turn back time and stop his soldier from proclaiming he was a king in front of such an entity, yet he could only wish after all.

The man walked up the the group standing only 10 meters away when the king's daughter stepped in front of her father. She held he arms wide as if to stop the man from moving any further. Although her actions seemed resolute, she was trembling all over. She loved her father, and knew of no other way to save him. The man let out a malicious laugh seeing this. "Little girl, you have 3 seconds to move or you shall be joining your father in the netherworld." He said in a cold tone. The girl trembled even more but still refused to move. The man simply shrugged his shoulders and raised his hand, pointing a finger at the little girl.

been very busy with work and hadn't been able to release this. it was very rushed and will probably be full of mistakes so if you see any please point them out. any ideas and tips on the direction i should take this is greatly appreciated as im currently just making it up as i go :L :)
