Ray opened his eyes to see himself in a purely white space. There was not even a speckle of dust or any impurities that tainted the whiteness he was in. He was amazed and yet was perturbed by how perfectly white the space was. Wait a moment, wasn't he just in his room finishing his bowl of kimchi cup noodles?

Ray furrowed his brows.

He then remembered that he had accidentally spilled some of that delicious broth onto his precious laptop. In shock, Ray quickly took a piece of cloth and hurriedly tried to wipe the soup away before it seeps into the cracks of the keyboard, not noticing the pop-up that appeared on his screen. Suddenly, he felt a sharp shock across his body and here he was in this white space. The black-haired youth's mouth twitched as his hands shook. He had one thought in his mind: "Could this be heaven?" 

However, his thoughts were quickly interjected by a mechanical voice. "No, you're not in 'heaven'. " Suddenly,  a small blue fire conjured itself in front of the black-haired youth. In about a minute, the small fire transformed into a blue rabbit with floppy ears and contrasting red eyes. 

Ray stared at it for a while more with a confused expression plastered on his face. "Um... " He squinted at the blue rabbit that was floating in front of him. "God?"

"No!" The rabbit squeaked in a high pitch voice. "I am your assigned system! I am like your manager! Not God! Well, unless you want to treat me as a God, I have no objections... "

Ray stared coldly at the rabbit, his eyes filled with questions. The rabbit coughed a few times in reply to the chilly stare. 

"I am part of the 'Save the Stories and Fix the Plots!' workforce. You may call me 44!" The coldness in Ray's eyes amplified. 44 nervously gave a few more coughs before continuing. "What you'll be needed to do is to enter the assigned worlds and fix any anomalies that will be present in each world. After completing each world, you'll be given 2 days of rest in your original world!"

"Wait a minute. " Ray frowned when he heard 44 called him 'Rayray'. "I have never permitted to this and also, I am not yet dead?"

44 suddenly used a paw to cover its mouth, doing an 'oopsie' gesture. "You see, Rayray... You did agree to work for our system... And you're not dead. You will be able to fully return to your personal world after collecting at least 10,000 save points. However, if you do fancy a particular world, you can opt to stay there instead."

Ray massaged his temples as he tried to process this new information he has been given. "I don't remember agreeing...? "

44 waved its paw as a screen popped out beside it. On the screen, it showed Ray wiping his laptop's keys. On the screen of the laptop showed a pop-up with the options 'yes' and 'no'. As Ray was cleaning the keyboard, the enter button was pressed.

'That counts too???  Σ(っﾟДﾟ；)っ' Ray's mouth was agape. This was not fair!  Not fair, not fair, not fair!!! He was just a freshman at a college! It was the holiday season! He wants his well deserved holidays back after studying for a semester and passing his exams with flying colours! This was a scam! He has been scammed! 44? More like Death Death! Give him back his holidays,  stupid rabbit!!! 

44 shrugged. Why is his host so feisty at their first meeting?  44 feels so complicated!
