Interlude 1

"This is it! Sinnoh Now! I'm Rhonda, and this is the one you have all been waiting for! It's time for Sinnoh Now, Morning Edition, your portal for what's hip and happening in Sinnoh! First, here's our weather report with Helena!"

A pretty brunette weatherwoman appeared on the screen, pointing to a long route between Hearthome Town and Pastoria City. "Sorry to all the folks who live or are traveling on Route 212 currently. The forecast shows thunderstorms all week. If it were me, I would curl up with a fluffy Fire-type like Vulpix or Growlithe, make myself a nice mug of hot chocolate, and watch the rain from the cozy comforts of my couch. But for those hardy trainers that can handle the rain, it's a great time to look for a Water-type Pokémon, or to take a trip to the trophy gardens to find an Electric-type! I'm Helena and that's all for the weather, folks!"

"Thanks Helena! Next up is our breaking news!"

A woman's voice is superimposed over a slideshow of a battle, showing burn marks on the walls and ceilings of a building, a huge crater in a wall, and a melted through table. "A battle in the Valley Windworks? Indications show that is likely the case. Jubilife TV's own Carlos has the story."

"Devastation, and damages. That is the result of several Pokémon battles that occured yesterday at the main Valley Windworks facility. We were able to get an interview with a part-owner of the facility, and a witness, Dr. Suzuki Kaze."

"Dr. Kaze, what happened here?" The tired-looking scientist adjusted his glasses before responding.

"Over the past several days, a group calling themselves Team Galactic came here, seeking to collect electricity. They were able to charge and take six canisters of electricity and would have taken more had a brave trainer not come and defeated them all, forcing them to retreat."

The scene shifted to Jubilife TV's reporter, Carlos. The tanned man held a microphone to his mouth before speaking. "Dr. Kaze was adamant that this was the work of Galactic Energy, looking to take out some of their competition. But I have a statement from Floaroma Town's police and let me read to you what Officer Jenny said."

"We are certainly disturbed that criminals successfully stole several days' worth of electricity from the Valley Windworks, but we are not in the business of assigning guilt without evidence. Despite the common name, we do not believe this was the work of Galactic Energy."

Carlos looked up, back at the camera. "We reached out to Galactic Energy for an official statement and received one this morning. Let me also read that to you." The reporter switched the papers in his free hand and began to read again. "Galactic Energy is deeply concerned to hear that a group with a similar name is conducting these sorts of activities. We are committed to working with facilities such as Valley Windworks to continue to provide energy to all of Sinnoh, and will cooperate with investigators to resolve this."

He returned his gaze to the camera. "Perhaps non coincidentally, Galactic Energy has announced some breaking news. As covered in a previous episode, the Adamant Orb, thought to be a relic of the legendary Pokémon, Dialga, was uncovered near Eterna City. Much debate was had on where to house this, and it appears that this has finally been resolved. Galactic Energy will be sponsoring a new museum, right in Eterna City to house the orb, and to feature other exhibits about the rich history of the city and Sinnoh in general. It's quite the donation, considering all they are asking in return is to study the orb whilst construction is underway. So, I wouldn't worry too much about Team Galactic. It seems for every bad act, there is an equally great one." Carlos flashed a grin before turning serious once more.

"The police are asking for the trainer who drove off Team Galactic to step forward to help with the investigation. If anyone else has information, they are also urged to tell the Floaroma police what they know. That's all for me, Rhonda."

"Thank you, Carlos. And now for our final segment, the Sinnoh Swarm! Let's go out to Van, Pokémon catching extraordinaire! Any exciting encounters recently, Van?

"Thanks Rhonda! I'm here today, in beautiful Southern Sinnoh, with my brand-new Pokémon partner!" The man tossed a Pokéball up high, revealing a small black bird with a red face and a white underbelly. The Pokémon chirped loudly, flying circles over the man's head.

"Meet Taillow! There's a whole flock of them who've decided to stop by and take in the gorgeous scenery and the warm sunshine near Sandgem Town. So, if you're a Flying-type specialist wanting a bird usually found in Hoenn for your team, or you just want a brave new Pokémon friend that won't back down even in the face of a much larger enemy, make sure you stop by Route 202, and remember to bring some Pokéballs!"

Bzzt!

Lucas turned off the TV with a frustrated sigh, tossing the remote to his left.

Another dud. He had high hopes for the honey tree, but what the Pokémon researcher forgot to take into account was the number of tourists streaming into Floaroma town over the past several days for the contest, with their Pokémon in tow. When Lucas went to check up on the honey he had placed on the tree, a bunch of already caught Pokémon were feasting on it instead of wild ones.

This was much more of a longshot, watching Sinnoh Now for the potential of a new Pokémon swarm. One day, it would line up to where Lucas actually was, and he'd be able to get out and look for some rare Pokémon. Funnily enough though, he did have access to something even more rare and exclusive: the mystery trainer who sent Team Galactic packing.

Speaking of which, Lucas turned his head around to see said trainer, chuckling a bit internally. The Floaroma police force must be looking for some adult with a team of fully evolved Pokémon, not a yawning teenager with one gym badge. Luna shuffled her way to the fridge, not acknowledging him, blinking at the contents inside in drowsy contemplation.

Lucas cleared his throat. "Good morning, Luna."

She jerked in surprise before turning around and answering him. "Morning."

"I'm surprised you're still tired, considering you pretty much collapsed on your bed as soon as you got back. And didn't you say not to wake you until lunch?"

His friend made a motion with her hand. "I'll make up that sleep. Eventually." She grabbed a few things in her arms before closing the door with her foot.

The lab assistant hadn't been able to ask her for more information about Team Galactic last night, since Ursula had demanded that she show off Meowth, and then Luna had gone straight to sleep. Now was as good a time as any, he supposed. "You know, the news had a feature on Valley Windworks. They said there was quite the battle over there."

Luna opened a few cabinets, grabbed a container from one, unscrewed the bladed top and ran under the sink for a few seconds before shaking it dry. A second later, she did the same process with the container itself. "I think we're tied now. Four Galactic grunts beaten apiece. Two of them were even the same."

Even assuming she had also beaten the ones in the flower field, that was still two more than the ones that they had seen previously. Whatever they were doing there, it sounded like a sizable operation. "Any idea what they were there for?" Lucas asked. Sure, he had just watched the news, but this was an eyewitness account, after all.

"A bunch of the usual nonsense, along with taking some electricity for something. The one in charge was a lot less forthcoming than the usual grunts," Luna replied, pulling the blender out and starting to assemble her smoothie, removing the stems from the berries and washing them clean.

"That's all you learned? Nothing else interesting happened?" Lucas questioned again, somewhat disappointed. Surely she hadn't spent all day there without doing some investigating.

"Ah, there is one thing. You have Monferno with you?"

What did that have to do with anything? Lucas patted his pocket just to be sure, feeling the familiar Pokéball that housed his starter. "Of course…"

"Wait right there, and don't summon him yet!" Luna yelled, suddenly full of energy, voice fading as she rushed to the stairs, taking them two or three at a time. Thirty seconds later she was back with Charmander's Pokéball and a manic grin.

"Let him out on three, ok? One…"

"Two?" He asked, pulling out and expanding his Pokéball.

"Three!"

Both of them summoned their Pokémon, and only then Lucas realized what she was up to, when Luna's Pokéball revealed a much taller Pokémon. Monferno and Charmeleon both did a double take upon seeing each other both evolved, pointed at each other, and then started laughing uproariously.

Now he knew something happened at Valley Windworks. Charmander often evolved into Charmeleon because they either wanted to take on or successfully took on a powerful opponent. Something these ordinary Galactic Grunts, as tricky and conniving as they could be, were not.

But before he could question further, both Pokémon turned to their trainers, almost pleading in their expressions. "Of course you can show off your new stuff Monferno. Don't get into a proper battle without us, though."

"That means don't be too rough!" Luna hollered at the backs of the two Fire-types bolting outside. "You're my only Pokémon right now, and we still have training to do!" Charmeleon didn't give any acknowledgement that he had heard, which had his trainer looking down the way the two Pokémon had gone in concern.

"He's really eager to get to fighting now," she muttered, leaving the question of why such a change in personality had occurred when her Pokémon evolved in the air.

Luckily for her, Lucas knew all about that one, having learned about Charmander when he was first sent over to Professor Rowan. "That isn't surprising, considering the Charmander line has many similarities with Dragon-type Pokémon, and I don't mean the moves that they learn. He's going to want to test himself against strong opponents constantly. Monferno is still going to be a good partner, all things considered, but he'll start wanting more varied, difficult challenges soon." Lucas slid a glance at Luna, who had turned back to her breakfast, perhaps in an effort to put her mind elsewhere. "Whoever was in charge of the operation at Valley Windworks was really strong, weren't they? That sparked Charmander to evolve," Lucas questioned. "Are you sure you don't know any more about what they were up to?"

His friend threw her berries in the container and opened a bottle of milk before deflecting and responding with her own question. "Do you know why they couldn't just get an electric Pokémon to use Thunderbolt, if they wanted power? It might be easier to just catch a powerful Electric-type."

That had Lucas's mind whirring. "Well, Pokémon electricity is far more volatile than normal electricity. There are histories of towns that let Electabuzz climb on the tops of their tallest buildings during thunderstorms to get hit by lightning. Whatever the Pokémon didn't eat was discharged for the town's use." A chuckle escaped Lucas as he remembered the tale. "Apparently, it took quite a while for them not to explode a bunch of things with that electricity." He became serious once again. "Are you saying they have a specific project in mind that requires this type of energy?"

All Lucas got in reply was a "maybe," as Luna pretended to look in the fridge for something, though her smoothie looked ready to blend. But that was the biggest lead on Team Galactic he had, and he definitely needed to start looking into it.

"So!" Luna began, a bit too cheerfully, her voice muffled a bit because her head was in the fridge. "Didja get everything I asked you too? I don't see the honey anywhere." That sounded like a drastic change of conversation to Lucas, but he let it slide. He knew Luna found Team Galactic to be rather amusing, based on their outfits and their mannerisms, and being a bit secretive was in her nature, after all.

It showed up the most in her battling, where she always liked to hide the fact she had a super-effective move or hide her Water Pulse trick until the optimal moment, but Lucas would never forget that day she slept through basically the whole class and passed the Trainer's school test and teacher's impromptu question with ease. While she still hadn't provided a satisfactory answer for why she had so much advanced Pokémon knowledge for being a new trainer, Lucas doubted she would hide something as important as this.

Lucas stared at the contents of the smoothie. All she had put in there were Bluk and Pecha Berries. It was already going to be very sweet. "It's on top of the fridge. Please tell me you didn't have me go get another jar just so you could put in some of your smoothies. We can't even use the blender on the road."

"Huh? Hiding in plain sight," Luna muttered to herself, grabbing the jar, and dipping a spoon inside. She paused right before putting it in her smoothie. "You're sure this is safe for human consumption?"

Honestly, he thought. As if people haven't been raising Combees and eating this stuff for thousands of years. "Yes. It's produced by Combees, when they collect floral nectar, and then they perform an enzymatic process, and finally by thickening it via evaporation when it is stored in their hive…"

As Lucas predicted, Luna ignored half of that and dunked her spoon in the smoothie milk, licking it clean before putting it in the sink. She blended her breakfast before answering his question. "I didn't just buy it for that. I got an idea to bake something with it." In between sips, she started laying out ingredients for her baking project, most of which Lucas had bought from the corner store yesterday, thankfully with her money. Pecans, flour, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, the jar of honey, and a bowl of dough covered in plastic wrap from the fridge.

Lucas blinked at the bowl twice. "No wonder you're still yawning. And that explains the sounds I heard last night too. So, what exactly are you making?"

"Well, I needed time for the dough to proof, and I was not about to wait until like twelve or something for it to be ready." Luna placed a small saucepan on the stove, and without measuring anything, threw in a whole stick of butter, quite a bit of brown sugar, and several large spoonfuls of honey, and started stirring it constantly with a tablespoon. "Oh, and they're called sticky buns."

Lucas was not that familiar with baked goods in general, unless they were Pokémon food. He was pretty sure he had never operated an oven before, actually. But he caught the scent of the honey caramel on the stove, and it certainly smelled tantalizing, so he walked over to get a closer look. "Well, if it tastes as good as it smells, I'm sure it's going to be delicious."

"Of course it's gonna taste good. It's made with lots of butter and sugar and honey." The combined ingredients had become one, thick liquid, and Luna set the pot aside, replacing it with a pan where she started toasting the pecans before looking at him. "What, you don't like sweets much?"

Not as much as you, no. "I do like them, I just… don't eat them that often." Lucas cast around for his inability to make conversation on this subject, eventually settling on the most obvious one. "They aren't that good for you."

His friend scoffed at that notion. "Dude, you're eating one, not the whole freaking batch. Besides," she said, poking him in the stomach. "We walk how many miles every day? Enjoying ourselves once in a while won't be the end of you."

As Luna started to spread her dough thinly on a baking tray, buttering it up with yet another stick, and then mixing a bowl with cinnamon and even more brown sugar than she had put in her caramel, Lucas was spared from answering by Ursula walking through the back door to see what they were up to, either because Charmeleon and Monferno's roughhousing was interfering with her contest practice, or from the scent of the honey caramel wafting through the whole house, through the open door into the backyard. Lucas wouldn't be surprised if a Mothim, a Teddiursa or another honey loving Pokémon decided to poke its head in to see what the scent was pretty soon.

Unlike him, the coordinator had no problems identifying what was being made. "You are making sticky buns?"

"Mm-hmm," Luna replied, spreading her sugar mixture evenly over the flattened dough. "With honey from some of the local Pokémon!"

"I should have expected something as sloppy as this to be your signature item."

That had Luna screeching to a halt like a Linoone faced with a curve in the road. "What was that?"

"You heard me," Ursula taunted, casting an unimpressed eye over the assorted items. "Baking rolls and then slathering a coat of honey on top? That is easier than baking a loaf of bread!"

The other girl jerked her pan of toasted pecans off the stove a bit too forcefully before staring the coordinator in the eye. "So what's your signature item, exactly?"

Lucas would have assumed that Ursula's signature would be poffins, but it seemed that she had other talents. "I will have you know that I make the most delectable, dainty cupcakes. In fact, one time I was commissioned to bring my homemade cupcakes to a baby shower because the lovely family had heard that mine were better than the local bakery's."

"Whatever," Luna laughed. "I actually thought you were claiming you could make something really challenging, like macarons. My sticky buns will taste a thousand times better than a lame old cupcake."

Lucas stepped back, because he knew one thing for certain. Ursula was competitive. She would not take a statement like that lying down.

"If you are so confident, then perhaps we should have a contest to see whose baked goods are better."

Luna jabbed the honeyed spoon menacingly at the coordinator. "Don't think you're better than me just because you can boil some berries and stir them properly or whatever. You're about to be left in the dust, cupcake."

"Hmph! We shall see about that."

----------------------------------------

The kitchen in the cabin that they had rented had two ovens, both of which finally were in use at the same time. Lucas tried his best to be helpful but realized quickly after a few failed forays that he should simply stand on the sidelines for this one.

"I think you're putting them upside-down Luna."

"They're supposed to be like that. Just wait over there, and you'll see the magic happen at the end."

"Why are you putting your icing into a bag, Ursula? Shouldn't you be spreading them on your cupcakes?

"Because, when I cut off one of the corners, like so, and twist the other side, I can pipe the icing much more effectively than by using a simple knife. Now move, before you get in the way of my elbow."

Relegated to the couch, Lucas could only suffer in silence as his nostrils were assaulted with delicious smells. Not to mention that this whole cook off was taking a while, so they'd probably have to go somewhere out to eat, rather than clean up and make something right here. Although he supposed it wasn't the worst, going out once this whole week. Finally, the girls were finished baking, both presenting their finished products to him as the supposed judge.

Lucas eyed them with some trepidation. This was not going to go well. Especially because both of their desserts did look really good.

Ursula, the fibber that she usually was, had not been lying about her cupcake making skills. They looked and smelled bakery quality, and the coordinator had even managed to draw up some floral designs in the theme of the town with her plastic bag icing piper to make them look even more gourmet.

Luna's were equally impressive, though vastly different. The trainer had answered Lucas's question of why they were baked upside down by putting a large plate over the top and flipping the whole pan, leaving an assortment of golden, oozing and dripping with honey, buns on the plate.

Both desserts were making Lucas's mouth water, though that might just be his stomach speaking. He realized both of his companions were looking at him expectantly for an answer, so he gave them one, hoping it would be enough. "Er, they both look really tasty?"

Ursula started tapping her foot impatiently. "Mine are clearly superior in terms of appearance. But if your eyes truly cannot appreciate them, your tastebuds surely will."

"As if. Looks are the only category you could win in. Mine will blow yours away in terms of taste. Go on Lucas, take a bite."

"Sure…" Not wanting to anger either of them by deigning to taste their food first, Lucas decided to just hold them together and stuff a large bite of each in his mouth. That ended up not being the brightest idea he ever had, because everything between the two became jumbled up in his mouth. He tasted something fluffy, something gooey, something moist, something with a kick of spice, and a ton of sweetness. It all tasted good to him. After making a big show of chewing and swallowing and asking for a glass of milk to waste more time, Lucas finally gave his verdict, hoping this would settle the matter.

"They're both really good. That's my final answer." Unfortunately, it was not a satisfactory one.

Ursula bent down to whisper in his ear, though Luna's unimpressed expression told him she knew exactly what was being said. "You can tell me in private that I was victorious if you do not wish to hurt this one's feelings."

"He doesn't want to hurt your feelings, Ursula," Luna chuckled. "What we need is a bigger audience and sample size." She pounded one fist into an open palm before pointing a finger triumphantly at the girl. "We each have three Pokémon each. You give your cupcakes to mine, and I'll give my sticky buns to yours and we'll see who likes them better."

"That is a terrible idea."

"Scared that your Pokémon will like mine better?"

"What an asinine assumption. As is the one that I would feed anything made by you to one of my precious Pokémon."

Lucas was pretty sure that wasn't the reason, considering they all cooked together on the road. All three of them knew that Luna had thrown out this idea knowing it would be heavily in her favor, considering Surskit wouldn't dislike anything with honey in it, and Gible ate pretty much anything. But maybe she was on to something. He could try and pass this off to someone else, to make this their problem.

Both girls looked at him when Lucas cleared his throat. "Perhaps you could go to the town and have them judge. There'll be lots of people there, and they'll have unbiased opinions."

That had both his friends looking contemplative. "Fifty each?" Luna threw out.

Fi-fifty?

Ursula nodded, the first thing they had agreed on all day. "We set the price however we see fit. Whoever makes the most by the end of the day shall be the victor."

End of the day!

"Though it will be me," Ursula continued. "I will make sure to purchase you a Lanturn lamp headband with my winnings, so you can see what true culinary genius looks like."

"As if," Luna went right back at the pink-haired girl. "I'll put you so far underground, you'll be eating dirt like a Larvitar."

As if on cue, Lucas's stomach grumbled, though neither girl noticed it as they went back to their respective stations. He wanted some actual food!

----------------------------------------

Lucas had managed to scrounge together a mishmash of leftovers from the fridge for lunch, but now dinner was looking like a concern, because his day was still not done.

Pokémon contests were magnets for pop-up shops, so despite their impromptu, lemonade stand looking stall, Luna and Ursula did not look too out of place. Lucas just hoped Officer Jenny didn't stop by for a snack, since they didn't exactly have a merchant's license.

There was an unbelievable assortment of goods being sold here. Some were selling other foods, some raw, such as spices, berries, and fresh Miltank milk. Lucas even spotted the Honey man with a couple of his Combees in a huge tent, whose canopy was patterned like the underside of a Vespiquen. Some were selling other baked goods, and the rest were selling products. Jewelry, clothes for both Pokémon and people, accessories, grooming kits, treats like poffins and Pokéblocks, toys for kids, and of course, Floaroma's specialty: bunches and bunches of flowers. There were a thousand wares that Lucas could spend a whole day browsing through.

But today, he was forced to play cashier for his two friends, because neither of them trusted the other to count the money fairly. Though he supposed it was for the better, seeing as Ursula and Luna both decided to cheat to increase their traffic before even arriving.

Although if they both cheat, does that even out and become fair? Lucas didn't think so.

Nearly every stall had Pokémon helping out, so it wasn't surprising that both of his companions did as well, though they both did it unbeknownst to the other. The ice cream stand had a couple of actual ice cream cone Pokémon, that he learned were called Vanillish and Vanillite, one shop selling pies had a strange looking Pokémon called Appletun with what looked like an apple pie for a body, and even the clothing and accessory shops had Pokémon serving as models.

Ursula, who decided to make multiple sizes and sell them at different prices, had managed to bake a miniscule batch of samples behind her counterpart's back, giving them to her new Alolan Meowth to distribute before their stall opened up, to drum up some customers. Surprisingly enough, the fickle cat Pokémon agreed, though he probably did so knowing how much mischief he could make in a place like this. Evidence of that was seen by some holes poked in tents and a few ropes that looked like they were about to snap.

Lucas had learned that Luna was the type to look over your shoulder for the answers a while back, and her plan, though simpler, was no less devious. Luckily for her, Oddish was in the Pokémon center for exhaustion rather than for injury, and Luna was able to swap her for Charmeleon for a few hours, hiding the Grass-type under her side of the table as a potted plant, and telling Oddish to use Sweet Scent every few minutes or so.

Despite their late arrival, there were still plenty of individuals at the market, and that meant a steady flow of traffic. Ursula's multiple sizes meant that she often sold several at a time, such as a cupcake each for a young girl with her Poochyena, but Luna also got a very consistent flow of customers, including a trainer with his Munchlax that bought one for himself and four for his drooling Pokémon. That meant Lucas had to continue to work and ignore the sounds and amazing smells of this place, and his protesting stomach, while he dutifully counted and separated the money.

As the skies started to turn dark, and people started to retire for the night, most of the vendors started to pack up, though his two friends stubbornly remained, with two treats each, waiting for customers who wouldn't come. He supposed now was as good a time as any to count up and see who had won.

"Fourteen and one, fourteen and two, fourteen and three, fourteen and four…" Well, this was awkward. Somehow, they had both made fourteen thousand and four hundred dollars!

Ursula stared at him for a moment. "That's impossible! I sold mine at different prices than hers!" She seized her stack and started counting through it herself. Her trainer counterpart was running through some calculations. "You sold the jumbos at five-hundred each, and the minis at one-hundred each. Fifteen of each one?"

A numb nod was all she got from Ursula, who had arrived at the same number that Lucas did previously.

"So that's seventy-five hundred, plus fifteen hundred, so nine thousand." Luna stopped doing math in her head and laughed. "You sold the remaining twenty at three hundred like all of mine! Both of us, had we sold everything, would have been at fifteen grand! We're both six-hundred short!"

Ursula handed the stack back to the lab assistant, turning back to look at the once bustling marketplace. "First one to sell the last two wins."

He had expected this. Lucas slapped down a hundred-dollar bill between them, making them both jump and look at him. "Seems like it's a tie, again. Because I'm buying the last two from each of you.

Luna glanced between the bill and the researcher. "They're three hundred each," she pointed out.

"Supply and demand," he reasoned, which shut her up quickly enough. "There's no demand, so you need to lower your prices to sell."

Both girls looked at each other, coming to some unspoken agreement before sliding the desserts over to him.

Excellent. Now to well and truly end this stupidity, Lucas thought, sliding one of each into a brown paper bag and leaving the other two on the table. "Now, you eat that one, and you eat this one", he ordered, switching the positions of the remaining two desserts.

For one second, Lucas thought they'd let pettiness get the best of them, but both girls took out a butter knife, slicing their opposite's dessert in half. Neither commented, though there were a couple of raised eyebrows when the two of them both pulled their Pokémon into their laps to offer half of the sweet to their Pokémon, popping the other half into their mouths.

"It's really good," Luna offered, after a moment of chewing and swallowing. "Nice and fluffy, and it melts right in your mouth." Oddish, happily out of its pot now that the sun was down, agreed cheerfully.

Lucas didn't know if it was harder for Ursula to swallow her pride or the sticky treat, but she managed to do both. "Tasting your dessert makes me want to have another," the coordinator finally admitted, with a glance at Lucas's bag. Her Dark-type Meowth didn't make a displeased face, which for him was a resounding statement of happiness.

Glad that's over with. All that was left was for him to take his commission, for playing peacemaker and cashier for the past few hours. Ten thousand was not bad for this sort of work, though Lucas certainly wouldn't want to do it every day or anything. He counted out his cut, and split the rest evenly, leaving a stack for each of his friends.

They both noticed their shorter stacks and immediately started to protest, though Lucas simply ignored them, folding his stack of cash and placing it in his back pocket snugly.

"Labor costs these days. They keep going up!" He turned away, holding his paper bag, hiding a grin and snickering under his breath at their dumbfounded expressions.

Now, he wanted some dinner! There was a wrap place nearby that looked really good. Lucas was thinking double meat, melted cheese on top, with some fancier vegetables like olives and spinach along with the usual tomatoes and onions. May as well load up.

After all, he'd already saved a ton on dessert.
