"Holy shit your a doubler" my sister all but screams in my ear "and you've got so many high aptitudes, and one in dragon" she follows up, this time making my ear actually hurt. I'm still stuck still knowing there is no way my sister and mom are going to let me out of going on a journey now. I look to my left and see my Mom just smiling, almost smugly, like this is exactly what she wanted.
"Well, now that we know these, and that you did well" my sister says, also smug for some reason, from right behind me. I turn more to see her and see the biggest smirk I've ever seen on her face, and I fought she couldn't have one bigger than the one she had on the drapion incident. "I mean i'm not gonna force a flying type on you, its your worst high aptitude, but i do know a place in the iron islands with some pawniard" she says, her smirk getting increasingly bigger to the point that it probably hurts.
I mentally sigh, knowing I'm not getting out of this, knowing that now I'm going to have to go on a journey, an unwanted journey I should add, but if I don't ill never hear the end of it and knowing my Mom she might just kick me out to force me to go on it.
"I begrudgingly accept" I say, knowing that even if the iron islands are dangerous, my sister is still an ace trainer, so I don't really have to fear death, I mean that's where she caught her skarmory, so I think she knows her way around the islands.
"GREAT!" She shouts and then runs out the back, probably to start preparing for flight or something, while I wait I just take a photo of my aptitude test and post it on my forum page, and then I pocket the I grab the last thing in the envelope, my trainer ID, which also acts as a bank account apparently, so I should transfer my money from my other account to this.
[Later]
After strapping up, we basically took of at sonic speeds, being protected solely by her staraptors fine control of the air, we are apparently almost at the iron islands, which isn't saying much considering how big they are, but we are going to start seeing things soon. i mean i guess seeing a wailord was quite interesting but they are kind of weird, and not that cool when they almost hit you with a jet of water that would of knocked you down, we also saw a cramorant but apparently they are common at the moment due to the current migration,
when we finally got above land, it was a bit more barren than i thought somewhere this dangerous would be, the only pokemon i saw was a lone kingler which had probably claimed this beach and a few starly in some of the trees, we quickly passed it and started to slow down, probably so my sister can see, i start to see some actual steel types such as durant, fortress, magnemite and magneton, some aron herding around a lairon, some probopass, some ferroseed around the greenery, a few drilbur hanging around som burrows and even one or two bronzor floating about, but strangely no pawniard.
"your probably wondering where they are" my sister shouts, probably using type energy to speak over the wind, when i nod she responds with "they are very formal, they only really stick to themselves, we are going to land at the edge of their territory and try and gain the approval of the kingambit, who should be strong enough to understand your affinity and will thus let you take a pawniard" my sister explains her plan, which kind of makes sense, no way she wouldnt know what she is doing with pokemon like kingambit and bisharp being around.
it took around another 10 minutes before we started to descend, and i instantly noticed the plauthura of cuts on almost all the tree's and as we landed a pokemon that stood about 5 foot 5, with sword like legs and massive shiny red thighs, a thin striped dark grey body with 2 ribcage like blades coming out of it, light grey arms with a multitude of blades in them and a head that is shaped like a helmet of some kind with a large yellow axehead on top of it. A Bisharp. my sister instantly pulled me down and forced me into a bow towards it.
"we request a meeting with the king" she instantly said the second we were both kneeled towards the bisharp, probably some formality i didn't understand. almost instantly a weird high pitch sound emitted from the bisharp, probably a message of some kind, and after a minute it was responded to by a louder screech from a distance away, the bisharp instantly nodded at my sister and turned away and started to walk towards where the sound came from. my sister looked at me and gestured me to follow, it took about ten minutes of walking, and the closer to the centre we got the more bisharp and pawniard, which looked remarkably similar to bisharp just without the bladed legs and only one arm blade, started to appear and eventually we reached steps that led up a mountain, steps that look like they had been cleanly cut.

it took a minute to reach the top and once there, i was beholden to the sight of 3 pokemon sitting on their own capes that came off their shoulders, with three giant blades on their head, one where the axe had been on a bisharp and two in the shape of a moustache, their rib cages had grown outwards more and their arms had turned yellow, the two on the sides were about 2.0 metres tall, even sitting down and red, but the one in the middle sitting down was at least 3.0 metres tall and was blue where the others were red, a shiny. as we came up the stairs a pressure instantly set on top of us and as their gazes settle on us it only got stronger, i see my sister start to bow while returning her staraptor to its pokeball and i do the same.
"great king, i ask you to let my brother here bond with a youn" my sister didn't get to finish that sentence as the pressure on us multiplied tenfold in an instant, like the king was insulted at the mere mention of me bonding with one of his young, "please just look at his aptitudes" my sister squeaks, probably only being able to talk due to using energy, i doubt i could even stand up under this pressure, stuck in a kneeling position. that's when i fall to the ground as i can only guess that the 'king's' gaze turned to me and with it more pressure
"gammm" and with that beautiful scratchy and screeching sound, the pressure reduces back to what it was before and he gestures towards the Bisharp that brought us up, probably finding my aptitude to be good enough and not beneath giving one of his boards young to me. after even more walking we reach a clearing, that has just about everything scratched, trees, rocks, grass, hell theres cuts in the floor. And about the clearing is what has to be at least 50 pawniard still cutting things, they are even cutting each other, some do it with normal type energy, probably a slash or scratch, some use bug type energy in whats probably fury cutter and some even use dark energy in what must be night slash, but they all, 2 or 3 use the blade on their head in an obvious iron head or metal claw, and one even seems to be using sucker punch against another who seems to be using fighting energy of some kind.
"Sharp" the bisharp cuts me out of my musings with this one side probably calling them to attention, which they quickly do with practised precision lining up in 5 lines of 11, which lets me learn that there's 55 pawniard here. "bish, arp sharp" the Bisharp follows up with this when they get lined up, and after saying this all the living swords less than a third my height turn their gaze to me. after which around 5 step forward while the rest go back to what they are doing. all of these 5 have something different about them one way or another, the one on the direct left has an aura about it that the others just don't have, kind of like the kingambits but definitely different, the one next to them has an eerie level of focus to the point that i doubt i can even make it flinch, the one in the middle isn't looking at me and is instead looking at the Bisharp defiantly, probably not the best choice, the one 4th to the left is looking at me adamantly, like it knows im gonna pick it or something, and the one on the far right looking at me like it expects something. i turn my gaze to my sister and she's looking intently at a small fletchling currently watching us from a tree so shes no help.
having searched up the species on the way were i new they greatly respected strength, so it might be best to have them show me what they can do and choose the one that is dead in the middle, don't want to take a pokemon that is to strong for me to handle afterall. "alright show me what you can do, your single greatest attack" i say, trying to sound commanding and succeeding for the most part. i gesture over to one of the more untouched rocks in the clearing afterwards and start to get in a good position to watch, my sister seemingly snapping out of her trance and actually looking at the pawniard and upon realising what is happening follows me over to watch. the first to approach the rock is the one that looks adamant about me picking it, probably thinking it will use an overwhelming display at the start to win of something. i see its arm quickly get surrounded by a purple ooze that seems to not leave its arm, poison jab, the jab quickly slash's the rock and melts away a decent portion, probably wants to leave because its seen as weak for having a move that has no effect against the other pawniard so it can prove its strength elsewhere.
the second to approach the rock is the one that was unnervingly focused, its head blade quickly lights up in silver light which it uses to kind of headbutt the rock, probably iron head, leaving a bigger initial slash than the poison jab, but not as big as what the poison melted away, no idea what this guys idea is but is probably chiller than the previous one.
the third to approach the rock is the one that had the defiant gaze to it, it takes one look at the Bisharp again before its arm lights up in fighting energy, that move i saw earlier that i wasn't sure on, but now that i've seen it up close i can confirm it as brick break, it leaves the biggest break so far if you include the cracks over the rest of the rock, probably not the best choice as its most likely doing this out of a grudge against the bisharp than a want for a trainer.
the fourth to approach the rock is the one that i think expected something, it looks disappointed a does a half hearted metal claw on the rock, probably thought i would do something which i didn't and was a bit disappointed about that, the metal claw leaves the smallest slash yet, probably not the best choice because i've already disappointed it.
the last one to approach the rock is the one with the pressure around it, it stares intently at the rock and started using swords dance, probably realising i said one attack, this honestly slipped my mind though, the other pawniards look shocked, after using two swords dance it uses a night slash and it leaves the biggest slash yet, probably the smartest of the five if it figured that out but i can't get an accurate gauge on its strength since i don't know how proficient it is with swords dance.
as they all get back in line in the same order as before i come to the conclusion that it is a choice between the focused one and the one with the pressure. the other 3 either wouldn't listen to me or probably disappointed about me. ultimately the best choice is obvious
"alright, the choice is obvious, i choose
