Pokemon: Storm Of Airia
Prologue
Airia is recently discovered island, where this story takes place in. After it was found, the Pokemon league association immediately got to it and started planning a league for the new region. After many meetings and differing opinions, it was decided that the Airia league would be limited to only the best of the best… but getting the best trainers in the whole world to participate would be hard so instead they decided to go with the endorsement system. With that the league would only get trainers that had potential or ones that had already proven themselves. Endorsements could be given out by league approved individuals, professors or people with lot of influence (Millionaires, superstars etc.) After the way of participating was chosen, the association decided that the gym leaders for Airia league would have to be strong. They called up 8 veteran trainers that had proven their worth in the other leagues and many different fields. Now that the league was planned out they had to wait few years for Airia to be in a livable state. People moved from many places to be the first residents of Airia, the region of greatness.
Few years after Airia was founded
Under the clear blue sky was a boat, sailing at high speed towards huge island. On board were trainers all looking towards their destination.
“Wow! That’s Airia!” someone yelled. Most of the trainers were grouped up at the front of the boat, but at the back of the boat there was lone boy leaning on the rail with his Gligar. Boy had silverish hair swept down on his forehead and was fairly tall. The boy was Ven Moran, 18 years old trainer from Unova region. He had received endorsement from his father and was now on his way to take part in the Airia league. He quickly glanced at the island before turning to his pokemon.
“That’s it, huh?” Ven got up and straightened his arm for Gligar to climb on. With Gligar on his shoulder, Ven started to get ready to set his foot on Airia.
Night before
Ven was at home packing his backpack with everything that he would be needing at his journey. Potions, Pokeballs, change of clothes and small tent. Those were the most important ones. Just as he finishes the packing, few knocks come from his door.
“I’m coming in, Ven!” he hears familiar loud voice. Door opens and Ven’s father Quan Moran walks in. “You finished?” he asks from Ven
“Yeah, pretty much.” He answers while getting up from the floor.
“Good, be sure to go to sleep early today!” I’m already eighteen Ven thought before answering.
“Sure sure, did you feed Gligar like I asked? Ven had asked his dad to take care of Gligar while he was busy preparing.
“I sure did.” Gligar glides into the room and quickly lands on Ven’s shoulder. That’s he’s favorite spot. Gligar had been with Ven for most of his life. His dad caught it for him when Ven was 8 years old. Back then only thing that he had dreamed of was becoming amazing trainer like his father.
Quan Moran was well known trainer from Johto region. That’s the region where both were originally from. There Quan had proven himself in the Johto league by winning the tournament and getting the right to challenge the champion. In the end he didn’t become champion and lost mostly because of the type advantage. Back then the Johto’s champion was still young trainer who focused on grass types. Quan on the other hand is well known for his ground type pokemon, making that matchup pretty disadvantageous for him. After the league, Quan was given position of gym leader of Mahogany city. That’s pretty much the whole story. He ended up serving as gym leader for 20 years before they moved to Unova region because of few circumstances. Ven never ended up becoming full-fledged trainer like he had dreamed, but instead went to Castelia city high school. He graduated from there this spring and because of his fathers pestering he was now registered as trainer for the Airia league.
“Gli!” Gligar was rubbing his cheek against Ven’s.

“You sure are excited.” Ven patted Gligars’s head. Quan was looking at him before opening his mouth.
“Before you head to the boat tomorrow, I got someone I’d like you to meet.”
“Okay, I’ll save bit of time before the boat leaves.” Ven thought that he had to meet some league executive before heading to Airia, so he didn’t ask any details. Quan nods and walks out.
“Good night.” He says before closing the door.
“Mm.” Ven answered before turning of the lights and going to lay on his bed. “Life can be such a storm sometimes.” He says to Gligar before closing his eyes.
Morning of departure
Ven and his dad are walking towards Castelia city harbor where they are meeting this mystery person. Harbor has many boats on standby, but one of them really stands out among them. SS Airia, new Airia regions own cruiser ship which Ven will be boarding soon. It has bright green paint with the pokemon leagues pokeball shaped logo on the side. Ven notices many kinds of trainers boarding the ship. Few people stand out because they aren’t boarding the ship like the rest, but instead look around trying to find something or someone.
“Hey!” Quan suddenly yells and waves at them. Older woman among the group waves back and the group of three comes over to them. They must be the people we are meeting, Ven reckons.
“It’s been a while Quan, how have you been?” Older women ask Ven’s father. Now that they are closer Ven notices that older looking woman is wearing blueish lab coat and has bright green eyes. She might be a pokemon professor. Ven has never met pokemon professor, but he has seen them on tv, they always seem to be wearing lab coats for some reason.
“Anise, I’m doing great, can you imagine my one and only son is finally making his pokemon trainer debut!” Ven looks away from them, being slightly embarrassed because of his passionate father.
“Heh, Nice to meet you Ven, I’m Unova’s very own pokemon professor Anise Juniper.” Venus remembers that he has heard the name Juniper before. Every Unova regions professors has been member of Juniper family for who knows how long.
“Hi, what kind a business does pokemon professor have with me?”
“Oh, I was just about to tell you, but first I would like to introduce these two.” Professor Juniper motions her companions to come up from behind her. Girl starts introducing herself.
“Hi, I’m Catharine, I have been endorsed by Professor to take part in Airia league.” Catharine says with dead pan voice. Her way of speaking is very close to Ven’s. Her hair has greenish tint to it while her clothes have this kind of mixture of black and brown colors. Ven thinks that she looks quite stylish for a trainer that will be travelling to an island.
“Hello, I’m Otto, nice to meet you. Would you like one of these.” Boy on the other hand is slightly round and wears blue flat cap and hoodie made by Swanna CL (popular clothing brand that makes clothes with Swanna like colors.) He offers half eaten Oran berry to Ven, but he had noticed early that boy had just been eating it while Professor was talking.
“No thanks.”
“Too bad, these are tasty you know!” Boy takes a bite out of the berry.
“I can see that. So why are these two with you professor?” Ven turns back to professor.
“As Catherine already said I have endorsed these two to take part in Airia league and I have also given them Unova regions starter pokemons.”
“So… How does that got anything to do with me.” Other than all of us being Airia league trainers. I hope she doesn’t ask me to travel with them. Ven ponders.
“You sure are impatient just like your father.”
“Hey!” Quan gets word in.
“Here.” Juniper pulls out pokeball from her pocket and hands it over to Ven.
“What’s this are giving me an empty pokeball as present or what?” Ven seems slightly confused until he realizes that maybe this pokeball isn’t empty afterall. “Wait is there a pokemon inside?”
“Sure is, It’s the last one out of the patch which I gave these two their pokemon. I’d like you to take the last one with out.”
“Why me out of all these other trainers? I’m sure there is someone way more promising out there.”
“You are son of Quan, that’s why, hehe.” Professor laughs. “No, but seriously starter pokemon are usually meant for new trainers who don’t have a pokemon, but this patch was slightly different. These ones are hard to train and caused lot of havoc in my lab while waiting for their trainers.”
“What kinda havoc are we talking about?”
“For example, the one I’ve given you broke my labs wall. Normal patch of starter pokemon wouldn’t do that making them unfit for a completely newbie trainer. So, I’ve decided to give them to slightly more experienced pokemon handlers like these two. Professors are only allowed to endorse two trainers to Airan league, so I ended up having one leftover and I happened to hear Quan’s son was also participating, making you the perfect candidate for the last one.” Where did she hear about my endorsement, Ven thinks while glancing at his father who is avoid eye contact.
“So, you are just giving me this troublemaker and expect me to just take it?”
“Yeah, I’ll guarantee that it will grow into tremendous powerhouse if raised correctly.”
“Take it, my son. We owe lot to Anise for helping us move to Unova. It’s least you can do.” Quan assures his son with a firm nod. Ven looks down at the pokeball and ends up attaching it to his belt.
“If you two insist on it that much, I guess I have to take it. It probably can’t hurt to have more pokemon with me.”
“Thank you, Ven. I’m excited to see the results in the Airion league.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Ven turns to his father “I’ll be going then.” he gives small wave to his father and starts going towards to huge ship, but before he can even take the first step, he feels arms going around his back and before he can even do anything his face is buried on father’s chest.
“Be careful out there and show them how amazing you are. I know you can do it.” His father tells him quietly.
“Mm, I will.” Ven says while trying to break his out from his fathers embrace. He gives out slight bow to professor and starts walking towards the SS Airia. He can hear Catharine and Otto give out their goodbyes to professor before following him.
Ven’s journey has began.
