In the outskirts of pewter city, there was a young boy lying unconscious on a grass field. He was covered in bruises and had a nasty cut on the left side of his head. The young boy started to regain conscious ‘Ughh ughh’. The boy slowly opened his eyes and attempted to move his body. What first came into his view was the big wide blue sky. Although injured, the boy had little difficulty in standing.
‘Where am i? I remember activating Final Judgement and destroying the entire Capital of Forlon. However…’ Dylan examined his surroundings and could not find any evidence of rubble or destruction. All he could see was a grassfield and a path leading to a forest.
‘Something isn’t right. I can’t see any sign of destruction from my attack. I am very familiar with the forest surrounding the Capital of Forlon but this isn't the same forest.’
‘That seems to be the least of my worries however.’ While checking the extent of his injuries, Dylan was shocked to see that this wasn't his original body. It didn’t take much to figure out that he had the body of a young boy. ‘Based on my short height, the length of my arms and small size of my hands, I estimate this body to that of a 7 year old child.’
‘....Was I reincarnated? No, If that was the case, I would be in the body of a newborn and I wouldn’t have been able keep my memories. My soul must have found it’s way to this boy’s body but a human body can’t have two souls unless…’ . Dylan closed his eyes and attempted to examine the inner depths of his new body. So far there was nothing out of the ordinary he could find in the body. His primary focus was to see if there any sign of this boy’s soul. The search however seemed to be fruitless. No matter how hard he tried, he was unable to find any trace of the young boy's soul.
‘It’s just as I thought, the boy must have succumbed to these injuries and perished’. Dylan concluded by looking at the state of these clothes, no more than a day has passed since he’s been out here. ‘It’s sad about what happened to the boy, but I have more pressing matters at hand. Although my injuries don’t seem that extensive, it’s been over a day since this body consumed any food or water. I have the option of following the path leading to the forest and try to hunt for food.
‘But I should probably consider that my last option. I have no idea what sort of creatures lurk in that forest. I’ll head in the opposite direction. 1 hour will be the limit I set. If I can’t find any traces of a town or human life, then I will have to take my chances and explore that forest’. With a new objective , Dylan set off.
Having walked for almost 30 minutes, There wasn't anything peculiarly that Dylan noticed. It didn't take long for him to familiarize himself with this body capabilities. On the way, Dylan ran, performed some push ups , sit ups and performed some basic martial arts. He didn’t dare try to perform Qi based moves. Then again, there was no dragon core in his dantain. In fact, there was no Qi in his body either. Out of curiosity , Dylan attempted to sense if there was any Qi in the area.
To his surprise, the amount of Qi in the air was thin which ruined the idea of attempting on improving his strength quickly. Dylan estimated it would take him at least 5 years before his body was strong enough to handle the process of absorbing the energy in dragon blood. Consuming dragon blood starts the process of the human body going through a transformation known metamorphoses. Metamorphoses is said to be very painful and unless the human undergoing this process has a strong mind and tough body, the human could not only fail in transforming, he/she could lose their life!
The length of time a human goes through Metamorphoses ranges from 4 hours to several days. The Longest recorded time was 7 days and that was when Dylan consumed the blood of a silver dragon. Finding a dragon was something Dylan set aside for now. He had no idea if dragons existed in this new world and even if they did, he doesn’t have the strength to fight them.
After walking for a couple more minutes, Dylan suddenly halted his steps. Flap flap flap.. ‘This sound... it’s not from the wings of a dragon. The sound and force are not strong enough but whatever it is, it certainly isn't a small creature either. Dylan looked up and into the distance…’it's coming from my right!’ Turning his head quickly, he saw a creature flying toward him. It was hard to make out at first but it took seconds to see it was a bird of some kind.
The bird flew over Dylan and landed around 15 meters away from his location. This ‘Bird’ was about 3ft tall, it was covered with brown feathers, and it also has a cream-colored face and underside. The birds feathers also contained a hint of pinkish-red and had black, angular markings behind its eyes.
‘I have never seen a bird reach this size. But at least I don’t have to worry about food’. This bird was the solution to his food problems. Dylan looked down to see if there was anything he could use as a weapon. Shuffling around the grass he could only find a rather small wooden stick. The only positive point about this stick is that it has a very sharp pointed edge. ‘While a bow and arrow would have been ideal, I should be able to penetrate its skin with this”. Dylan had also picked up a couple of small rocks. ‘I could use some of these as a distraction’.

With that, Dylan crouched on the ground and slowly crawled his way to toward the bird . He crawled until he was only a few feet away. Dylan grabbed one of the rocks from his pocket. He then throw it high over the bird and it went into the bushes. The rustling of the bushes caught the birds attention. At the moment, Dylan made his move. He got up and sprinted toward the bird. He thrusted the small stick toward the bird's neck! However, Dylan was too naive and had underestimated the bird intelligence.
The bird attention to the noise only lasted at best 2 seconds. The bird reaction to Dylan's assault was extremely fast. Before the small stick reached its target, the bird was quickly able to fly away to escape. It did not escape getting hurt. Before the bird was able to get away, Dylan was able leave a large gash on one of it wings.
'tch I was so close. And it looks like I'm in for a fight too’. The large bird was now enraged and it's killing intent toward Dylan was very apparent. Dylan took a fighting stance and prepared for the large birds assault. However the next thing that happened was out of his expectations. Rather than charging toward him, the large bird began to flap his wings in rapid succession. At first dylan was bewildered by this action but the look on his face quickly changed from that of confusion to fear. The force of the birds flaps caused a strong wind force which was aimed at dylan .
Dylan knew he couldn't avoid this attack so he crossed his arms and braced for the attack. The attack connected and sent dylan flying until a boulder stopped his flight. Plaw ugh; Dylan spat out a mouthful of blood and slid down to the ground. ‘ Unbelievable, if this boulder wasn't here, I would still be flying’. Dylan struggled to get up with his now tattered body.
Luckily none of his bones were broken but the situation was looking grim. To top it off, the large bird still hovering in the air and was far from finished. The large bird flew in high speed toward Dylan. Once it was close, the bird used its talons in attempt to capture Dylan. Dylan jumped to one side and barely avoided its attack.
CRUNCH! The bird's talons were actually strong enough to rip off a big piece of that boulder! Looking at the state of the boulder, a chill ran down his spine. ‘Not only are those talons sharp, their ridiculously powerful as well! Dammit what was I thinking trying to take down this large bird. I have nowhere to hide in this grassfield and I can’t outrun it either. I only have one option left. I have let it charge toward me and attack it head on’.
‘My chances are surviving are close to zero but I have no choice. If it conjures up that wind attack again, then I’m done for’! Dylan grabbed hold of his short stick and pointed it toward the bird while getting into a kneeling position. He didn’t have enough strength to stand on both legs so he bent and brought one of knees forward while having the other knee lay against the grass in the back.
Screee!!! The bird gave out with what sounded like a war cry and set forth toward Dylan. It looks as though Dylan’s gamble was indeed the right one to take. As the bird got closer and closer, Dylan gathered all his strength to his arms and prepared to thrust his small stick. Dylan gave out a loud shout “COME!!!”.
Just as the bird was just a few feet from Dylan, Someone yelled out “ Vulpix use flamethrower! Immediately after that a trail of flame came out of nowhere and hit the incoming bird. Scree!!!! The large bird gave out a mournful cry and flew away into the distance.
Dylan turned to see a young woman who looked to be in her early twenties and a little fox like creature next her feet. The woman had long blonde hair. She had skin as white as snow with dark blue eyes. The creature next to her had a red-brown pelt with brown, pupil-less eyes and large pointed ears. Dylan couldn't help but notice the creatures six orange tails
‘Is that a young demon fox… no, the number of tails doesn’t make sense for its size. Plus the power it displayed is far from what a 6-tailed demon fox is capable of’. Before Dylan can contemplate further, the young woman interrupted him.
Young woman: little boy are you alright?!
Dylan: Of Course not! Do you need glasses for your eyes woman!?
Young woman: ummm…
Dylan: ugh just help me up please.
Young woman: oh.. Right vulpix come along .
The young woman helped Dylan on his feet and began to look over his body to what injuries he sustained. As she continued to examine dylan's body, she couldn't help but being surprised and
Bewildered at the same time. ‘How is he able to stay conscious with these wounds? Better yet how is he not crying at the pain or sight of blood’. “Ummm is there something on my face?” Dylan was feeling impatient and just broke the eerie silence.
Young woman: ahh no its nothing. Anyway why was that pidgeotto attacking you. They normally don’t attack humans unless they're provoked.
Dylan: Pidgeotto? Oh is that the name of that large bird? I haven’t eaten anything in over a day so I was planning on making that bird my dinner. But as you can see, I was no match for it
Young woman: No wonder it looked so agitated. What were you thinking taking on a pokemon by yourself. It’s near impossible taking on a pokemon without having one of your own.
Dylan: What are pokemon? I thought you said that bird was called a pidgeotto
Young woman:... have you been living under a rock? Everyone know what pokemon are. They have been around since the beginning of time.
‘This must be common knowledge for everyone. Dammit how do I explain this? Wait… sigh I don't have choice.
Dylan: To be honest, aside from my name, I can’t seem to remember anything about myself or anything about this world. When I woke up I was only able to recall my name.
Young woman: Oh my! I'm so sorry little boy. The city is just up ahead. I would take you to the hospital but the Pokemon center is closer and I know nurse Joy won't mind performing a thorough examination on you.
Dylan: While I appreciate the sentiment, I would rather have something to eat first. I haven't had anything to eat in over a day.
Young man: Don't worry the Pokemon center has plenty of food for you to eat but I must have nurse Joy take a good look at you first. I won't take no for an answer.
Dylan: Fine you win. Can we go know?
Young woman: Yes but before we go I need to ask that under no circumstances should you repeat the story of hunting that pidgeotto to anybody. The hunting or killing of any Pokemon is unlawful and the punishment is very severe even for young children. Just say that you were unsure as to why that pidgeotto attacked you.
Dylan: I see, thank you for the advice.
Young woman: As long as you understand . Let's get going. Vulpix return!
The young woman took out a small sphere from her waist pointed it toward that creature. A small beam of red light shot out and enveloped the creature. The figure of the creature shrunk and the beam of light retracted toward the small sphere. Once the red beam of light nearly reached the sphere it suddenly popped open and the light made its way to that opening. Immediately the sphere closed trapping the red light.
‘So that sphere works similar to an interspatial ring but it is able to trap living creatures. I didn’t sense any magic coming from that red light either’. Dylan and the young woman continued to walk and didn’t take long for the city to into view. Needless to say, the sight of this ‘town’ overwhelmed Dylan. The majority of the buildings were almost 300 ft tall!
The size of the city was roughly 4 times the size of Forlon Capital!. He kept walking until a big sign hanging over two pillars that were parallel to each other which read Pewter City. The young woman turned to Dylan and said “Welcome to Pewter City little boy!”
