Returning from the outside world, Ayren contemplated how best to distribute his attribute points and also considered how to increase his crafting level.
"Perhaps the best option would be to invest two points in agility," Ayren decided to leave one attribute point as a precaution.
After pressing the plus sign twice next to the "Agility" stat, he immediately felt lightness in his body, as if he had shed a few kilograms.
"Wow! I made the right choice. Now I'll be able to hunt and move through the forest much more efficiently," Ayren was pleased with the result.
After assessing the outcome, Ayren decided to attempt to increase his "Crafting" level using the knowledge he had acquired not long ago.
After several attempts to change the construction and transform the materials Ayren had gathered into garbage, he managed to create a knife slightly better than before.
[Name: Stone Knife
Quality level: Low-quality garbage
Type: Tool/Weapon
Attributes: 1.5 damage.]
[Learned better crafting methods.]
[Condition for increasing the "Crafting" skill met, increased to level 1.]
"Not bad. Now I can make better tools," Ayren inspected the knife he had made.
"For different skills, different methods are needed, but the goal for improvement is the same: to make better use of the skill," Ayren analyzed the situation.
"I still have materials for a few more tools; I need to use them," Ayren opened his inventory.
For three hours, Ayren engaged in creating stone tools, aiming to gain experience and alleviate boredom as a side effect of his situation.
"Ou, I've run out of materials," Ayren finished his work.
"I have nothing else to do," Ayren had nothing left to do but lie down and stare at the ceiling, or more accurately, the "Sky" of his pocket world.
"Hmm, maybe I should use herbs?" Ayren pondered trying to mix herbs and create something like medicine or poison.
Ayren pondered for a considerable amount of time; he didn't want to waste valuable materials for an unclear outcome. However, boredom was winning over him with every passing minute, and eventually, he decided to try making something with herbs.
[Created "Burn Ointment"]
[Name: Burn Ointment
Quality level: garbage.
Type: Medicine
Attributes: restores 0.1 health point per hour for 10 hours.
Note: can only be used for "burn" type wounds.]
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
[Learned new skill "Alchemy."]
[Received 2 experience points in "Alchemy" skill and 0.2 experience.]
"This is something," Ayren was pleased to have gained such a valuable skill.
He didn't have many herbs left, so he decided to save some for expanding his territory and use the rest for experiments with alchemy.
Over the next few hours, Ayren tried mixing various herbs in different concentrations and quantities. He ground them into a paste or dried some into powder.
"Darn it, I used up all the herbs, but besides the burn ointment, nothing else worked," Ayren was disappointed.
After such a success, Ayren felt a bit dejected due to the wastage of spiritual herbs, but he decided to at least remember the recipe for the burn ointment since he had no way to write it down.
"Now I really have nothing else to do; I need to sleep. After waking up, I can go out again," Ayren decided to sleep to pass the time.
Opening his eyes to the sound of a notification, Ayren realized it was time to go outside again. This time, he wanted to complete one of his daily quests, and he had already chosen which one of the three he needed to complete.
Without waiting any longer, he immediately went outside to stretch after lying down for 24 hours and to start his plan for the day.
[New Quest
Goal: kill 5 fish
Reward: 1 strength point.]
[Time: 24 hours
Failure Penalty: None
Accept?
Yes/No?]
Choosing a quest where Ayren could simultaneously gain experience to level up and earn a strength point, he immediately retrieved the stone spear he had made recently and headed to the river.
Upon reaching the river, Ayren quickly found a suitable spot for his hunting and got to work right away. After nearly 20 minutes of tracking and unsuccessful attempts to catch fish, Ayren finally succeeded in hitting his target.
[Killed fish, gained 4 experiences.]
[Received 3 skill experience points in "Spear Mastery" and 0.3 experience.]
"At this rate, I definitely won't finish the quest on time," Ayren said as he retrieved the fish from the river and placed it in his inventory.
"But I don't have any plan yet on how to speed up the hunting."
Ayren could only come up with a way to make it slightly easier. His plan involved walking against the current and trying to throw the spear in the direction he was going, so he wouldn't have to walk after it every time. It wasn't anything extraordinary, but it helped.
[Killed fish, gained 5 experiences.]
[Received 3 skill experience points in "Spear Mastery" and 0.4 experience.] [Reached skill experience limit in "Spear Mastery." To level up the skill, use characteristic points or find inspiration in the "Spear Mastery" skill.]
"Wow, this is a big fish, much larger than the previous ones," Ayren said as he retrieved the fish with the spear.
"But still, at this rate, I'll only catch two more fish at most if I'm lucky."
"Maybe if I improve my spear skill, I can hit more often. It feels like my accuracy rate is only about 5%," Ayren contemplated.
"But anyway, the faster I level up, the better. And I can only gain experience for spear mastery during hunting, so it's still the best option," Ayren weighed his options.
[Increase skill "Spear Mastery" for 1 characteristic point?]
[Yes/No.]
Hesitating, Ayren pressed "Yes." It was somewhat difficult for him to part with such a scarce characteristic point, but he considered it an investment in his strength.
The feeling after leveling up the skill wasn't dramatically different for Ayren, but he noticed that when he held the spear, he didn't feel as though he had only been practicing with it for a few weeks, but rather months.
"Well, time to see if I didn't waste my last characteristic point," Ayren continued walking against the current.
The result didn't take long to arrive. Ayren quickly caught another fish, but it wasn't clear whether he was just lucky or if the skill level increase played a role. However, Ayren didn't have time to analyze; he continued onward.
Half an hour later, Ayren caught another fish, and he was sure that it wasn't just luck; it was the effect of his skill. He quickly moved on to hunt for the last catch before his time was up.
Although the skill increase played its role, it didn't guarantee Ayren 100% accuracy. While misses were less frequent, prior to leveling up spear mastery, he would have missed.
Throwing the spear again, Ayren had no expectations for hitting; he stopped relying on luck and instead awaited the result of his throw.

[Received 2 skill experience points in "Spear Mastery" and 0.1 experience.] [Quest completed.]
