Сhapter 4

Сhapter 4

Ugh, I just can't seem to get used to this," Ayren said, stretching after stepping outside.

"I need to find spiritual materials as soon as possible; otherwise, wandering in the forest is becoming dull," Ayren continued his search.

"I have to find a way to increase my level; if I'm not mistaken, it will allow me to stay outside longer," Ayren pondered.

"I need to figure out how to gain experience; at this rate, it'll take me more than a week to raise just one level," Ayren continued histhoughts.

As Ayren wandered through the forest, he gathered twigs and stones. An idea came to his on how to earn more experience, and he decided to test it later.

"This looks somewhat unusual," Ayren plucked what seemed like ordinary grass at first glance.

After yesterday's experience, he began inspecting anything, even if it didn't look special. Even if he picked up trash, he wouldn't lose anything from it.

"Alright, I'll check it later," Ayren put the grass in his inventory and continued on.

Emerging into a small clearing, Ayren noticed a small fallen tree. It looked odd, and he wondered why it was the only one lying down when all the other trees were intact. Coming closer, her face paled slightly as he understood why it was the only one fallen.

"What kind of creature must it be to leave such a track?" Ayren questioned.

He began examining the track left on the ground near the tree. It looked as if it were made by a huge wolf with six toes.

"If it's not some intruder, then it must be the owner of this territory," Ayren mused.

Ayren didn't ponder long and decided to leave the area, but before doing so, an idea struck his. Approaching the fallen tree, he wanted to move it into his inventory.

"As I suspected, it didn't work," Ayren thought as he touched the tree.

[If you want to move an object to the inventory, simply touching it won't suffice; you need to ensure that you can move it manually.]

"Understood. If that's the case, then I should be able to do it," Ayren said confidently after hearing the message, then approached the place where the tree broke.

"Only need to separate it from the part still in the ground," Ayren said, effortlessly splitting the spot of the break and easily dragging the tree without any problems.

"Now everything should work out," Ayren moved the tree into his inventory this time without any issues.

"I need to go in the opposite direction of the track to avoid problems," Ayren looked at the track and walked in the opposite direction.

Gathering all the herbs Ayren found appealing, he didn't expect them to be incredibly valuable; he just wanted to increase his skill level. Therefore, he didn't pay attention to the possibility that he might be collecting useless items.

[Received 1 skill experience point in "Herbalism" and 0.1 experience point]

[Reached the skill experience limit in "Herbalism." To increase the skill level, use characteristic points or find inspiration in the "Herbalism" skill.]

"What does this mean? I can't even simply increase my skill level?" Ayren was frustrated by this unexpected turn.

[I understand your dissatisfaction, but the skill function cannot simply increase your skill level; you need to pay a certain price or figure out how to better utilize a certain skill to improve it.]

Ayren was disappointed that he couldn't do anything about it, but he understood that these were just his futile hopes that by doing the same actions repeatedly, he could endlessly increase any skills.

So, he decided to deal with it later since there were options for skill improvement; he just needed to think a little about how to better utilize "Herbalism." Ayren was confident that raising the skill level to the first level wouldn't be difficult.

As his time in the area was coming to an end, Ayren sat on a small hill and admired the scenery as he chose the next path for the next time.

"I'll probably head to the river; it's about time when I start feeling thirsty and hungry, although these feelings are barely noticeable, it's better to have an idea of where to find all the necessary things to satisfy basic needs right away," Ayren contemplated.

Drawing up the next plan of action, he approached a tree and drew an arrow with a stone. This wasn't the first time on the way to this place; he left many of them to orient himself in the forest.

"Hope these items will be enough to expand my world," Ayren opened the inventory.

Though he didn't find any incredibly valuable items, he was almost certain they would suffice.

During this expedition, Ayren gathered about 30 herbs and one tree. After checking everything, Ayren saw that he had everything he needed, with a little extra.

Selecting all the spiritual materials to expand his world, Ayren pressed the conversion button.

[Conversion successful]

[Expansion of territory from 1 meter to 2 meters.]

"Whoa, why so low?" Ayren looked around and noticed the ground beneath him.

[Since you finally expanded your territory, I returned the land.]

"I see. Could you put it back again?" Ayren asked.

[Unfortunately, no. I've already done you a favor by removing the land earlier.]

He had no choice but to accept the situation as it was. Ayren was grateful to Ace for removing the land earlier.

Ayren was uncomfortable lying down all the time and even unable to sit, but at least he could fully stretch out rather than being in a fetal position for 24 hours.

"I need to see if I can gain more experience," Ayren retrieved sticks and stones from his inventory.

After an hour of struggling in an uncomfortable position, he finally finished his work, for which he collected materials outside.

[Creation of "Stone Knife"

Quality level: Trash

Type: Tool/Weapon

[Characteristics: 1 damage.]

[Learned a new skill "Crafting."]

[Received 1 skill experience point in "Crafting" and 0.1 experience point.]

"Ha-ha," Ayren chuckled joyfully.

"Now I'll definitely level up soon; there should be enough materials for 20-30 stone knives," Ayren said.

"I wonder if I can convert them?" Ayren pondered, as he had tried to do it before with stones and sticks but failed.

[Convert?]

[Name: Stone Knife

Quality level: Trash

Type: Tool/Weapon

Characteristics: 1 damage.

Price: 0.02 Spirit Stone After conversion, you will receive an equivalent of 0.002 from Spirit Stone]

[At the moment, you don't have enough materials for conversion for expansion.]

"Not bad, but I still need about 500 knives to expand the territory again," Ayren said. "I need to make more knives now until I reach the experience limit," Ayren continued.

Starting to create knives, Ayren could occupy himself for some time. Being idle all day was starting to annoy him, even though he had planned to engage in some craft, even if it didn't give him anything, but the fact that he could benefit from it gave him additional motivation.
