CHAPTER 23 : Why Is she behaving a little differently?...

A Few moments before.

When Raj was buying pendents for lovely. She comes out from the changing room and searched for Raj.

After not finding Raj there, she goes to counter with holding dress in hand while thinking that maybe Raj will be there.

Lovely reached in front of counter and looked here and there. After not finding Raj here also. She asked the old man who is in present in counter about Raj “Uncle do you know where is Raj”.

“Raj? who is Raj? The old man asked.

“The boy who come with me”. Lovely replied.

“ Oh! Your boyfriend”. The old man said.

“No, he is not my boyfriend”. Lovely replied.

“No!, He is not your boyfriend?”. The old man asked.

“Yes. He is not My boyfriend”. Lovely replied and asked to old man again “Do you know where is he now?”.

“I don’t know but I did not see him going out from the shop. You wait here I will send someone to call him". The shopkeeper said and asked the female employee who Raj already meet earlier to find Raj.

“So do you like this dress”. the old man asked lovely while pointing towards the pink long frock dress in her hand.

“Yes, Uncle I like this dress, please Pack this dress for me” Lovely said giving him the dress.

“Okay”. the old man said and picked the dress from her hand and ordered a worker there to pack it.

“Wait, I want to buy this dress”. Then suddenly a voice come from there’s behind and a girl in age 23 or 24 walked out from their back wearing Very heel saddles. Hearing her voice, the worker who is going to pack the dress stopped.

“Sorry but I came already bought it”. Lovely said to the girl. Who is looking like some model. Is she a model? Lovely thought in his mind.

“But you don’t done the payment for it”. The girl replied. She heard their conversation.

“Yes, I didn’t done payment for it but I came here first and I going to buy it”. Lovely replied to this new girl and she knows how to deal with her?.

“But I ~”. she wanted to say something but lovely interrupted her saying this “ I cannot give you this dress but, You can choose another dress from this shop have many amazing dresses”.

“Okay”. the girl replied to lovely and looked the old man asked “ Old man, do you have any other dress same like this?”.

“No, and my staff already said to you that here where you can see all these dresses only have one and single copy”. The old man said while pointing to the wall behind him where many beautiful dresses are hanged. He was not angry with her when she said him old man.

“I know you liked this dress and selected it first to try. But then you choose another dress to try to and now this dress already has another buyer. Sorry for that but I cannot sell you this dress now, but If you really want to buy this ask to her". The old man replied while pointing at Lovely.

After hearing this the girl looked at lovely who knows what she wanted to say, so Lovely said firstly without giving her chance to speak "As I already said I liked this dress. so I cannot give you this”.

The girl become disappointed after hearing this. then an idea comes to her mind, and she said to lovely “ I am ready to give you double money for this dress. Can you now give it me”.

“Sorry for that but I liked this dress very much and I cannot give it you even you paid me double or triple price for it. but I can give a advice, from next time if you found a dress that is looking attractive to your eyes. Then you have to select it before anyone else and try it to wear and check whether that dress suits on you or not". Lovely said to the girl while feeling sorry for her.

“Okay, but you don’t have to feel sorry for it. This time it is my mistake but from next time I will take care of it”. the girl said to lovely and looked the at dress for the last time and leaved from there.

And, After that the staff packed the dress and gives it to lovely.

After taking the dress in his hand and checking it lovely asked to the old man about it price. “Uncle, what it’s price?”.

“8000 rupees”. The old man replied very calmly.

“Eight thousand ! Don’t you think that, you are asking a little much?”. Lovely exclaimed and asked.

“No, not at all”. the old man replied to lovely calmly. Thinking his mind just now she was saying to that girl that even you give me a double or triple money of its price, I am not willing to give it you. So he thought she don't have problem of money.

“Uncle, do you know that? I am also in clothes business, and I know how to sell the clothes and what's the price of this dress. So you don’t have to say fake price in front me”. Lovely said to the old man.

“No, it’s the actual price,”. the old man said. But actually it was not the actual price of this dress. The dress is a little bit more costly than the real price.

“I don’t believe”. Lovely said.

Then after that two of them started bargaining and lastly the old man come up to ₹7000 rupees.

“Seven thousand rupees last price and I don’t decrease the price a single penny from here”. The old man said. He didn’t except that she is so good at bargaining. But he didn't having a loss.

“Okay deal”. Lovely said happily and took out money from her purse and gives it to the old man.

It’s not lovely don’t have money, but she didn’t like to spend too much money. In her life there is a rule that is, if I can afford a thing at a cheap price, so why should I pay a high price for it?.

And after paying money, she stopped there, she was waiting for Raj.

(Present time)

“It’s you”. the girl said, recognizing Raj.

“ Ah.. hi “. Raj said, smiling wryly after looking at her. He doesn’t know what to say her.

“You Basterd”. She said after looking at his smile. She is really furious.

“Hey! No abuse. Cursing someone doesn’t suit a beautiful lady like you”. Raj said, interrupting her after hearing she was cursing at him. He never likes cursing someone and never cursed someone. Because he comes from a very humble and elegant family after all and it’s doesn’t suits on his personality also.

“ You “. The girl said and stopped, feeling speechless after hearing his words. But he is right, this type of thing really doesn’t suits her.

“Wait, let me help you to gather the things that we shattered on the ground”. Raj said and started gathering all his things that belong to him and her fastly. His all stuffs fallen into ground.

“Take this”. Raj said to her while giving her bags to her. After collecting all bags from ground and separating his. Raj handed other bags to the girl.

“Thank you”. The girl said, feeling somewhat surprised by his action and behaviour.

“Hey where are you going now”. The girl said to him, blocking his way to escape.

Raj forced a smile and asked “what’s now? Why are you blocking my way? Please Give me way, i am being late”.

“Oh! So you are being late. Where are you going ? Are you going to Peek someone else ?”. The girl said with a smile that doesn’t look like a smile.

“What are you saying ? I am not that type of person”. Raj said quickly .

“So what are you doing in women’s changing room”. She asked folding her two hands up to chest but cannot do because she is holding a shopping bag in her hand.

“It is a misunderstanding. I don’t know that you are inside. If I know that, then I will never go inside it?”. Raj replied to his question without thinking.

“So you are saying you don’t know that I was inside and if you know you never dared to go inside it?”. She said, correcting his words.

“Yes, it is exactly what I want to say”. Raj said.

“So you are saying if i am not inside you dared to go inside it? Or someone else beside me present inside you dared to go”. The girl asked angrily.

“No, I never said something like that”. He blurted.

“You just said that if you knew that, I was present inside you never dared go inside. That means if someone else was beside me you dared to go inside”. The girl asked. Now she is really feeling angry, and she is holding her anger here, otherwise she would have beaten him right here in front of everyone.

“I don’t mean that and I have my reasons to do it”. Raj said.

“Oh! Now I really want to here you reason but if it is some type nonsense excuse that be prepared to beated up by public”. The girl said after hearing Raj’s words smiling, that is looking very dangerous from Raj's perspective.

After Looking at her dangerous smile Raj is really thinking about what should he tell her? The truth or something else.

“You are here and the owner is looking for you”. Suddenly A voice interrupted his thoughts and Raj looked at the source of voice and found that it was the female employee whom he would meet. He felt relieved after looking her.

“What are you doing here? The owner and your friend are looking for you. Come with me”. The female employee said to Raj after coming near him and looked at the girl beside him.

“Wait, I want to talk to him about something”. The girl said. She is surprised after hearing her word, but how can she allow to leave Raj without a clear explanation.

“Are you his friend”. The female employee asked after looking at her.

“No”. the girl replied.

“Do you want to something important thing with him”. The female employee asked again.

“Yes”. The girl replied. First, she wants to say No but after thinking that she will not let her talk to him so this is why she said yes.

“Then you can talk to him after sometime”. The female employee said.

“What?”. The girl is surprised by her reply.

But the female employee ignored her and looked at Raj and said, “Now what are you doing here. Hurry up and go”.

“Okay”. Raj said and leaved from there.

“Do you know him”. The girl asked the female employee.

“Yes, he comes here because the owner of this shop asked him to”. The female employee said to her, telling half truth and half lie. She heard their conversation. So this is why?, she came to help him.

“The owner of this shop, but why”. She asked. She knows the owner of this shop. He is a lout person.

“It is because we heard from our female customers that the door of women’s changing room is become some loose. So he come here to repair it”. The female employee said totally lying in front of her face not even feeling a shame.

“So he is a carpenter”. the girl asked to the female employee. Thinking in his mind, so this is why?, he entered inside the women’s changing room.

“Yes”. the female employee replied.

“But is not he too young for it?”. The girl asked, feeling sorry for Raj.

“Yes I know, but what can we do in this. He has his problems”. The gale employee replied again.

(CFA:- If Raj was here, i am sure he will vomit blood after hearing this.)

After saying this, the female employee left from there and so did the girl.

After sometime the female employee catched with Raj.

“Thanks for helping me”. Raj said.

Even though she did not said anything, but he still knows that she comes there to helping him.

“What are you just going to say to her”. The female employee asked, not even caring about his thank you.

“The truth ?”. Raj replied.

“Don’t even think about telling it?”. The female said to Raj while walking.

“Why ?”. Raj asked.

“What are you going to say? It is only a rumour and even if it is true, that never happened at our shop. You know it can decrease our shop's reputation in public. So don’t even think to telling it someone else”. The female employee said to Raj in some threatening time.

“Okay “. Raj replied after hearing what she had said.

“Look your boyfriend is coming”. The old man said ti lovely.

“He is not”.Lovely said angrily which looked cute and looked behind her and saw Raj coming is towards her and he is holding some shopping bags in his hand.

“1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7. A total seven shopping bags. He is holding a total seven bags in his hand. What did he buy?, As far as I know, there is not a thing available for boys here. So what did he buy?”. Lovely thought in her mind after looking at his hand that filled with shopping bags.

“You said you are not his boyfriend”. The old man asked.

“Yes, he is not”. Lovely replied. Now she is a little irritated by this old man.

“But I think he is the boyfriend of someone else.

“What do you mean?”. Lovely asked. “Look at his hand that is filled with shopping bags. He certainly wouldn’t have bought all of this for himself to wear. He surely bought it for his girlfriend”. The old man said to lovely.

After looking at it again. Lovely started to think about something.

“Hey! do you buy the dress?”. Raj asked after coming near to Lovely.

“Yes”. Lovely replied and asked : “Where have you been ? You know I am waiting for you here for a long time”. Lovely said to Raj as soon as he came close to her.

“Ah! sorry for that, I thought that you will take sometime to change your dress. So this is why I left from there to buy something else for you”. Raj replied to Lovely.

“Okay, whatever”. Lovely replied, not clearly hearing what he said. Raj is feeling that lovely is behaving a little differently. Like she is a little bit angry with something. But he doesn’t know what is it?.

“What happened?”. Raj asked, seeing lovely behavior.

“Nothing”. Lovely replied and asked to Raj “ Have you forgotten why we have come here?”.

“Of course not?”. Raj replied.

“Then, do you know why did we come here for?”. Lovely asked.

“ Of course, to enjoy our time?”. Raj replied, to lovely.

“Yes,we came here to enjoy the fair? But I think you forgot it, that is why you bought this much things. How are we going to enjoy the fair with that much things in your hand?”. Lovely said to Raj after correcting herself. She only comes here to enjoy the fair and not else. And she is also not feeling jealous from it not even a little bit.

“This…”. Raj had almost forgotten about it. “What Lovely is saying is right?. How can he enjoy his time with Lovely while holding this much things in his hand”. Raj thought this in his mind.

“Sorry, I forgot about it. But Don’t worry, I will manage it and look I bought something for you”. Raj said to lovely changing the subject.

After hearing Raj's words, lovely looked at Raj like she is asking what ?. Then, to answer her question, Raj held his all other shopping bags in his one hand and took a box from one of the shopping bag and showed to Lovely.

Then Raj putted all his shopping bags to ground. Only holding a pendent box in his hand and when Raj was about to open the box, he was interrupted by a cough. “Ahem...Ahem...”. The old man coughed falsely and Interrupted Raj. The two of them looked at the old man after hearing him coughing.

“Are you okay,uncle “. Lovely asked. “Yes, I am but I want to talk sometime with him”. The old man answered lovely while looking at Raj.

“You want to talk something with me”. Raj asked to old man.

“Yes”. the old man replied.

“What?”. Raj asked.

But the old man not replied and looked at lovely. After looking at his gaze, Lovely, who is smart enough to understand what this old man wanted to say. So she looked at Raj and said “ I am waiting outside”. And after saying this, she walked outside the shop.

“Now tell me what do you want to talk with me”. Raj asked to old man after seeing lovely left the shop.

“Firstly, come here”. the old man said, signalling Raj to come near him and counter.

Raj comes near him and asked “Now tell me, what did you want to say to me?”.

But the old man not replied to him and hitted his head with his hand.

“Ouch ! Hey what are you doing”. Raj asked while steeping back and holding his head. He was really surprised by his action and also because of his sense not warned him. How can his senses his less than a old man who is in late forties? I know late forties is not a old age but I want to say it.

“You are asking me why I did this to you?”. The old said.

“Yes”. Raj replied while touching his head. His head really hurts. This old man hitted his head hard.

“Do you have a brain or not, without thinking anything you entered inside the women’s changing room. And if it is not enough, you even dared to talk nonsense about my shop”. The old man said, looking at Raj in some angry tone.

“Sorry for that uncle but when did I talk nonsense about your shop”. Raj firstly apologizes for his mistake, then asked about his confusion.

“When? When you were talking to that girl, what were you going to say to her? Weren’t you going to tell him that you’d heard rumors of a hidden camera being found inside the women’s changing room? So you are searching whether there is any hidden camera installed inside the women’s changing room or not?”. The old man said to Raj, indicating to him that he knows about all things that Raj had done after entering his shop. Like he had been keeping an eye on him since he entered the shop.

“So you know all about it”. Raj said to the old man looking here and there searching for the female employee, he knows she is the one who had told him about all this. But she was nowhere to be found.

“Yes”. The old man replied, proving that what is he was thinking was right.

“So what did I do wrong in this ?, I heard that precautions are the best medicine”. Raj said to the old man.

After hearing his reply, the old man wanted to beat him in front of everyone but he calmed himself and said, “So what did you do wrong? You little bastered you are asking me that what did I do wrong in this? If you know who is she you never dared to ask this question ?”. But the old man forget his calmness.

“Who is she? Is she someone big personalty?”. Raj asked and thought in his mind if she was.. then he escaped from a big problem because of help from that female employee. If I find the female again, then I will definitely thank him.

“You don’t need to know ?”. The old man replied, not exactly replying what did Raj actually asked.

“Now go from here before I change my mind and start beating you”. The old man replied.

Hearing this Raj escaped from there, thinking, what did I do that angered the old man.
