Act III: Scene 8: Necromancy

Pinocchio's splintered mind harbored a singular obsession: reviving Geppo, the puppet he destroyed in a fit of terrible angst! He delved into the forbidden arts, pouring over his ancient tomes, some gifted by Geppetto, yellowed pages whispering dark secrets and guidance for a macabre ritual! With an otherworldly intensity, il Giovane Incubo followed several tomes’ instructions, pouring his essence into the ritual. Alas, Geppetto's soul (the vital spark that had once animated Geppo) remained elusive, refusing to reveal itself to its murderer’s desperate attempts!

Yet, as darkness closed in, the determined ritualist successfully orchestrated an abominable revival, his muzzled face contorted in a silent scream of effort! His world went completely silent as Geppo’s pieced-together wooden body began to twitch, jerking into a mockery of life: Geppo Morto! Pinocchio's eyes lit up with a twisted joy as he beheld the "revived” puppet. He reached out a trembling hand, touching the reanimated puppet's teakwood cheek with a tender gesture. In the moment, Pinocchio's deluded mind of oak and nightmare believed he succeeded in reviving his beloved Geppo.

The patient's wooden heart beat with unnatural energy. His xylem lips curved into a macabre smile, though no sound escaped. Pinocchio's own lips moved in silent response behind his muzzle, his eyes locked on the undead puppet with a desperate devotion. The air was heavy with the scent of decay and corruption as Pinocchio poured even more of his energy into maintaining the illusion to keep Geppo Morto "alive" through sheer force of will.
