Act III: Scene 7: Splintered

Pinocchio's body was still sore from the brutal battle with the telepathic foes, the memories of their unexpected telekinetic powers and silver weapons hard to bear. But it was a gnawing sense of abandonment and desperation that threatened to unravel Pinocchio's very existence! Geppetto, his godfather and idol, had since vanished, leaving Pinocchio suffocating in a void of despair!

Pinocchio's gaze fell upon Geppo from many meters away, eyes narrowing as he took in the details of the foreign puppet's construction. Geppo was made of teakwood and silver oakwood, a sturdy and resilient combination. But what caught Pinocchio's attention was the sight of Geppo's tears’ streaming down his face like silver rivulets. Yet, Pinocchio's fractured psyche–that of a self-absorbed and very terrible teen–didn't register the other puppet's crying or even its elderly aesthetic.

In the shop, Geppo worked intently on a crossbow, his hands moving with precision as he carved intricate details into the wood which already read: “Nico Paolo.” His focus was absolute, his attention consumed by the task at hand, even as his subconscious mourned his lost humanity.

A deep-seated fear took hold of il Giovane Incubo, fueled by the terrifying possibility that Geppo's presence might challenge his own uniqueness, diminish the special bond he felt with Geppetto, or worse: replace him entirely! The air was heavy with silent tension as Pinocchio's eyes locked onto Geppo, his mind racing with a toxic mix of emotions: anger, fear, and a desperate sense of betrayal!

In a sudden, savage outburst, Pinocchio's id-dominated emotions reached a boiling point, and he unleashed a frenzy of violence upon the unsuspecting Geppo! The grayed puppet's body exploded into a thousand splinters, the blast resounding like a death knell as Geppetto's soul escaped in a teal flash!

The surviving puppet’s eyes widened in horror as he stumbled backward, his mind reeling in shock and disbelief at the destruction he wrought! A realization came like a thunderclap: the horrifying truth that Geppo was, in fact, Geppetto! Pinocchio's reality was fundamentally damaged, his sanity teetering on the brink of collapse as he grappled with the enormity of his mistake!

Pinocchio's grip on reality soon faltered critically, his mind splintered by the weight of the murder! The darkness that had driven him to destroy Geppetto now consumed him, his thoughts descending into chaos! His wooden eyes, once bright with a spark of life, transmuted into a lifeless charcoal, reflecting the death of his ego!
