"Hmm I dunno" she said, "I'm pretty sure you can't jump off of the roof and live" "What about Hodini or somwho?" She just shook her head, "Nobody jumped off of a one story building without something soft to tell the tale silly." Wendy had to suppose she was right. She was a year older than her. "Then, what about a bridge?" "What about a bridge? You'd die there too!" "Then," Wendy stuttered "Then why do the boys keep telling me to jump off of things that would make me die?" that time, Penny kept her mouth shut. Her eyebrows furrled. "Well. Because boys are stupid" "Are they really? Didn't you want a boyfriend to kiss and hu"-Penny covers her mouth with a snake worthy hiss to shush her. "Didn't I say not to say that? Besides, all the boys as this school are too dumb for us." "I guess so."
"Tell me something Penny, what do you and your boyfriend do at your house while you're not supposed to have people over? Hmm?" Penny flushed, tripping over her words replied "How-how do you know that?" "Your parents car isn't there when I see Jeff come over" Penny then elbowed Henry "OW! It's not like your parents heard!" "What if they did?" Penny yet again hissed another snake worthy hiss. Henry scowled at her "What do you do with him?" he pauses "Why do you lie to Wendy about it?" Penny sighed and leaned against the wall. "She's slow Henry, she wouldn't understand. Anyways, I have to tell her not to like boys at her age" "She's only a year younger than us!" "Yes, but didn't I say she was slow?" Henry ponderded that for a moment. "I guess so? But you keep avoiding the question? What do you do with Jeff?" Penny's blush crept back up again "W-we just play.. Board ga-games silly..." Henry gave a skeptical "Mmmhm" before finally focusing on that question he'd been trying to finish since the conversation started. He knew that Penny wasn't going to give that information up until he had some proof.
Wendy stops at the pool gate as she watches Penny be pushed into the water by Jeff. Without thinking really, she shouts "You're stupid!" as soon as she says that Jeff turns around to her. Wendy's older sister scolds her "Don't call people stupid Wendy. It's, it's not nice to say that." "Why? He's the one who told me to..." Wendy's sentence trails off as she watches Penny's desprate attempt to get her to shut up by doing a cutting neck motion. "Told you to what?" Wendy's sister prods, trying to get the rest of the sentence. Wendy herself pauses, glancing at her sister and Penny to deciding who to defend. "Nothing. He.. He's not the one that... Called me dumb." Wendy's sister raises an eyebrow at Jeff before finally taking shade under an pool umbrella. Wendy belines to Penny as Jeff belines to her as well, "What's going on?" Jeff says before Wendy can ask a very similar question. Penny stutters and mutters something under her breath, "Penny." Jeff repeats his question. "Well. This is Wendy." Penny finally gets out "I know who that little booger is, the question is how do you know her?" Penny cringes at the word booger as she glances at Wendy. She's frozen, Penny thinks about her options. Save her, or leave her. When Penny makes eye contact with Wendy however, she breaks from her glassed eye trance. "Boys are stupid Penny. What was this dumbo doing pushing you into the pool?" Jeff scowls, teeth bared "I don't know who the hell you think you are calling me dumb" Wendy flinches at the curse word. "But I can do whatever the hell I want without some baby telling me I'm dumb." Jeff glances at Wendy's older sister before sneaking a shove under the water. "Hey!" Wendy exlaims, "Penny! Do some-Do somthing!" Penny's turn to be frozen, her options now aproaching. Save her. Don't save her. They run through her head at a million miles an hour. She'd never seen Jeff this mean. At that moment he looks over to Penny "What are you doing? Hello? Earth to Penny? Are you going to tell your little baby to leave us the fuck alone?" Wendy flinches, hard at that curse tears threatning to leak. Penny finally takes a deep, shaky breath "F-Leave us alone Jeff. I-I don't need-need you to be this mean to my friend, that you think is a baby." Jeff narrows his eyes, and replys coldly "You were getting hair down there anyways." as he stalks off. Wendy doesn't understand what he said, but now she knows to console her friend. Penny staring at the pool water as her face flushes deep at what he said. "It's oka-okay Penny. Forget what... He said..." Penny gives a slow nod but doesn't move from her embrace. Now Jeff and the rest of his lakeys are laughing and pointing at her. She moves closer into Wendy's embrace.
