Finally, after what seems like hours and hours of tackling, the pokemon was out of its shell.
"Mom? Dad?" She spoke, but no answers were given.
-Petilil's POV-
I searched my surroundings, but my Dad or Mom wasn't near. It was nighttime now, the surroundings were very dark, giving off a gloomy feel. I feel like I'm being watched on my back at all times, but when I turn around to see... well there was nothing.
"Anyone?" I said again, but the only response was the silence of the forests.
I start to panic. If my Mom and Dad aren't around here, then it means they've gone out for food... right. That's wishful thinking at best, any parent with a right mind won't leave their child that's not even one day old in the night alone. The most likely answer is they've... they've... perished... and I was now alone...
I felt sad when that thought came to my mind. I was alone, and no one will help me. No one will talk to me, no one will find food for me when I'm barely half a day old, no one will protect me...
Scary thoughts came to my mind when I thought about that. That's right, there's no time for sadness and sorrow now. Currently, I'm the best target any predator could wish for. If I don't start doing something now, death was guaranteed.
Alright, Petilil. You can do this!
First of all, it was the middle of a night. Ensure safety was definitely the top priority objective. I start searching my surroundings again, this time looking for spots to hide. I saw a tree with grass relatively taller than the others in this area growing under it, and decided that was the perfect spot for now.
I run to the patch of grass, making some rustling sounds. Some predators must have heard this, I think, so I won't have much time until one comes. I quickly dug a hole in the ground, making sure to leave breathing pockets, and jumped in it without making too much noise. Now I should look just like the patches of grass near me.
(Some minutes passed)

I now hear multiple footsteps of what I think are the predators of this forest. As they got closer and closer, I could feel my heart beating harder and faster by the minute. Now they're right next to me, I barely held in my screams, heartbeats beating so fast I could hear it more clear than what the predators are talking about on the surface. Luckily, after some minutes passed they walked away. I try to make a sigh of relief, but then realize almost my whole body was in the ground, so I failed to do so.
That was close... I thought to myself, then the sleepiness took me into dreamlands.
-On the surface-
A pack of Poochyena lead by a single Mightyena soon stopped as they lost Petilil.
"I swear a saw a small Pokemon near here!" Said a Poochyena silently. "I highly doubt it. Besides, didn't your eyes get hurt in the last hunt? I'm 90 percent sure you only saw the shadows of a patch of grass and mistook it for a Pokemon." Another Poochyena responded. "Enough!" The Mightyena commanded. "The important matter, is now we've lost a potential prey. It wasn't anybody's fault, however..." The Mightyena stopped for a moment and continued. "To lose track of prey that easily, all of your senses had to be improved on!" Said the Mightyena in a devastating tone.
The Poochyena knew of what's to come, and they cursed the Poochyena who made up a non-existing prey in thier minds.
