Twenty seconds earlier:
With a wave of his hand, the creature created a tide of worms, formed from its own darkened blood.
Michael could see Tyson float next the robed figure no doubt incapacitated by strange magic. In a way it was strange to see his normally in control familiar reduced to inaction.
„Stay back kid.“
Lucy, the twelve year old girl, grit her teeth while a pale blue aura was swirling around her, pushing back the dark mana. At that moment she almost looked like a hero, with her ragged cloak bellowing behind her, pushed by an unseen wind.
But her eyes, they burned with a ferocity he had never seen before.
„Dancing in the starlight“
The black haired girl took a powerful step forward, her spear flowing with elegance and charged with magic. It spoke of a control worlds above what he himself could accomplish.
Boom.
Dirt fell from the celling, as the pale blue shock wave blew apart the wave of maggots, letting the blood they were made of splatter across the walls.
Without stopping, Lucy took another step, and the red figure hasty created a red shield. It looked unfocused, staring somewhere far away.
Michal could not see the movement Lucy used to crossed the room, she just appeared in front of their enemy. Then the spar clashed against the barrier with a force beyond what should be possible. More dirt fell from the celling.
Despite the protection, the creatures left arm was blown apart, and it screamed. It was an inhuman scream, a canopy of voices and impressions. Still, something in there felt something akin to fear?
And then, Michael could swear he saw his familiar tremble. Maybe the magic that bound him had weakened.
For a moment the man, or rather boy just stood there in awe, before he noticed the girls pale complexion, her bloodshed eyes waving in focus.
With no hesitation he reached into his chakra and poured almost everything into the sword held firm in his hand.
The light responded to his call with visor, burning away to destroy what laid in front of him. He could swear he felt the touch of the goddes, helping him hold the sword with his mortal hands.
And something drew his eyes towards his familiar and golden aura began to form around his weapon.
A hatred, ancient and grand flooded his veins, drove him forward. Was it telling him to protect his only friend?
The ground shook again, as another wave of blue mana streamed of the girl.
He looked over briefly to see her ram a sphere of blue light into the creatures abdomen.

Then immediately after she activated the technique again to incapacitate it.
Only a faint light flickered on, before going out.
The monster reformed, and slammed its hand of blood into her head.
Like a ragdoll, she was thrown across the room, collapsing against the wall. Bruises formed on her whole skin and blood pooled below her.
The creature laughed, but not in joy rather in a broke twisted hatred. It had been severely wounded. He hoped.
„I will make you pay for that“
And then Michal activated dash. At this distance, the technique should bring him well behind the monster. His golden sword dragged along with him, the momentum ramming it into the creatures gut.
All air was forced out of his lungs as he slammed into the disgusting mass of blood.
„I wont let a Tyrant kill my comrades again.“
The smell of burned flesh filled the air as the golden light mana tore through the creatures dark read aura.
It was still not enough. The creature formed a bloody seal in its remaining right arm and michal‘s head exploded like a melon.
Plot armour activated.
Except it didn’t.
Frantically Michal stumbled backwards. Even though the skill still had a use remaining his chakra was depleted.
He could see the disbelieve in the dark pupils of the monster, but disbelive alone had never killed anyone. And he was completely out of cards. At that moment he swore he could see his own death approaching. And the death of all others in the room.
And then it snapped. Like glass shattering, the incredible pressure broke, and it was as if a veil was lifted from his eyes. Everything felt more alive, less bleak.
The man of blood fell apart.
Michal took a steady breath, maybe the first since he had entered the room.
Okay, maybe disbelieve did kill sometimes. He laughed out loud.

He took one glance at the notifications and dismissed them, he could deal with them later.
Then, Michal took one of his casting catalyst from his belt and pressed it against Lucy, pouring mana in it, just as he was regenerating it.
A blue light started to pour into the young girl.
Her complexion eased a bit.
Present:
Tyson snapped his metaphysical eyes open and surveyed the room.
The wall behind the Hexenmeister was blown to pieces and he could feel the light mana of his summoner concentrated in the centre of the room.
It was so strong, it still tried to burn his shadowy form. It almost felt as if it was reaching for him.
And now he finally understood what caused the tremors that allowed him to gain back the initiative.
Happy to have resolved that little mysterie, he took a long look at the status screens that just popped up.

That sounded great.
Deciding he could go over the specifics later, he floated to the two others.
And then he saw Lucy. Her black skin and bloodshot glassy eyes. His form shook for a moment, as desperation surged.
„Is she alive.“
His magic failed him on the last word.
„She is suffering from blood loss trauma and a few broken bones. The worst damage however she seemed to have inflicted upon herself when she used that technique.“
Michal heaved a sight of as he held the flickering focus over her.
„Fatal for a normal human. She is damn tough and the magic would stabilize her, but I got barley enough.“
Tyson ignored his own feelings for the kid and snatched the blue crystal out of his hand.
The focus devoured his chakra like a hungry maw, but he just let it flow out. He had more than enough.
Slowly Lucy‘s skin brightened as the purple spots started disappearing.
Happiness surged through him and he allowed a smile to form. He would need to be careful not to let his attachments shackle him down but humans weren‘t machines.
